Above Pirate King - Chapter 139
As the battle continued, Shiki fought and retreated, constantly launching slashing attacks with his legs and using his Devil Fruit ability to control large areas of land to block in front of him.
However, it was still futile; the railgun’s speed was too fast.
New wounds kept appearing on his body. Despite his defense and evasion, the wounds were relatively small, but he was still covered in blood.
On the other side,
Gion almost cursed out loud.
“Damn it!”
“Why do you have to run towards my direction of all places!”
Frequently, railgun shots that Shiki managed to dodge came flying towards Gion at high speed.
If there wasn’t some distance between them, the railgun shots would have been much more powerful and faster. Gion could have been inexplicably killed.
But even now, she was not safe. She concentrated, standing at the bow of the ship with both hands holding her sword, alert for stray bullets coming from Shiki’s direction, preventing the ship or its crew from getting hit accidentally.
Soon, Shiki, who was fighting and retreating, came close to Gion.
“No, I can’t let him get any closer!” Gion thought seriously.
Right now, it was just stray bullets, but if Shiki came closer, she would be caught in the battlefield between the two of them. Then she would be surrounded by enemies, facing attacks far beyond her level, and she would be killed in minutes by these powerful assaults!
Thinking of this, Gion took a deep breath, tightly gripping her sword named Konpira, and stared intently at Shiki as he floated closer, suddenly slashing down.
Instantly, a huge sword aura flew towards Shiki.
Danger!
Shiki sensed an extreme sense of crisis!
But what could he do?
He had just spotted Gion with his Observation Haki!
There was a Marine behind him, and he didn’t even hesitate to dodge away. After all, when facing great danger from the front, having a Marine behind him staring at him like a tiger, wasn’t that seeking death?
But there was no other way!
Every time he tried to dodge, with the coordination of Arthur’s web of abilities, the railgun seemed to have eyes and blocked all his paths, forcing him back.
Feeling the danger behind him and the crisis in front of him.
Weighing the danger from both sides.
In the end, Shiki chose to toughen up and face the sword aura head-on!
In this situation, no matter which option he chose, it was highly dangerous, but clearly, Arthur’s pressure was a bit greater!
“Boom!”
The sword aura pierced through the water wall Shiki created with his Devil Fruit ability and struck his heavily-armored back.
Shiki had underestimated Gion’s strength!
He originally thought that resisting the sword aura from behind wouldn’t be much of a problem, but Gion’s power exceeded his expectations!
The sword aura penetrated his Armament Haki and left a large wound on his back, sending his body flying several meters away, causing him to lose control temporarily!
The wound wasn’t too serious, but losing control of his body was disastrous!
In the next second, as if Arthur had activated the lock-on function, the railgun struck Shiki directly.
“Boom!”
“Boom!”
“Boom!”
After the first shot, the second, the third, the fourth, and countless more shots came, bombarding Shiki’s body.
Although Shiki tried his best to defend himself, under the endless barrage of railgun shots, his body quickly became covered in countless wounds.
“Urgh!”
Finally, Shiki couldn’t hold on any longer and spat out a mouthful of blood. His vision blurred, and he fell from the sky,
Right in front of Gion!
Gion was somewhat stunned as she looked at the golden lion that fell in front of her!
A gift from the skies?!
Then she seemed to remember something and hurriedly took out binoculars, looking towards the direction from which Shiki had come.
At this moment, for some reason, cherry blossoms started falling from the sky. The cherry blossoms seemed somewhat ethereal, but they also obstructed her view.
Faintly, Gion saw a somewhat familiar figure spreading its wings and flying towards the sky.
After the figure left, the cherry blossom rain also disappeared inexplicably.
Gion stared blankly for a few minutes before finally regaining her senses. She took out a Den Den Mushi and made a call.
“Purupurupurupuru!”
“Hello, Gion? How’s the battle going?” Kong asked anxiously.
“Um, Fleet Admiral, do you believe me if I say the Golden Lion fell in front of me?” Gion looked at Shiki in front of her. She couldn’t believe it herself, but the surprise came so quickly!
“What!?” Kong slammed his desk in disbelief.
“I’m telling you, the Golden Lion just fell in front of me!” Gion said earnestly.
“Are you joking with me?” Kong hesitated for a moment and asked.
“It’s true, that’s exactly what happened.” Gion explained in detail what had just happened.
“So, you’re saying Shiki was defeated by an unknown strong individual and then fell in front of you?” Kong asked in astonishment.
“Yes!” Gion nodded.
“By the way, do you have any Sea Stone handcuffs on your ship? Hurry and put them on him!” Kong urged.
“We don’t have any on the ship, but I have a pair with me!” Gion replied.
“Good, put them on Shiki directly, and after that, you don’t need to worry about anything else. I’ll call your second-in-command at the base to take over, and you can come back directly. I’ll have the Marines along the way cooperate with you!”
Kong paused and continued,
“Also, I’ll have Kizaru provide support as soon as possible. Make sure Shiki safely arrives at Marine HQ!”
“Yes, Fleet Admiral!” Gion nodded.
Afterward, Gion put the handcuffs on Shiki and then piloted the ship, leaving the scene directly.
Meanwhile, at Marine HQ,
After hanging up the phone, Kong thought for a moment and summoned Garp, Sengoku, and Kizaru, who were currently at the headquarters.
“Knock, knock!”
“Come in!”
As the door opened, Sengoku was the first to enter with his hands in his pockets, followed by Garp picking his nose, and then Kizaru, who had a lazy expression on his face.
“Take a seat!”
Kong gestured for them to sit.
Once everyone was seated, Kong said seriously, “Shiki has been captured!”
“What!?”
The three of them exclaimed in shock.
“Admiral, was it the World Government that made a move?” Sengoku frowned at Kong, asking. It was no wonder he thought that way since he was well aware of the internal movements within the Marine, and none of the capable individuals were dispatched to capture Shiki!
The other two also looked at Kong curiously.
“Um, you may not believe it when I say it, but Shiki fell from the sky!” Kong said with a strange expression. Even now, he found it hard to believe that Shiki was picked up by Gion like that!
“Ha-ha!”
“Cough, cough!”
Garp, who had just taken a sip of tea, immediately spat it out, and after coughing a few times, he wiped his mouth and looked at Kong with a joking expression, saying, “Are you kidding me? Shiki fell from the sky?”
“I told you, you might not believe it. To be honest, I can’t believe it myself, but the world works in mysterious ways. Shiki really fell from the sky and was picked up by Gion!” Kong helplessly explained.
The three of them looked at Kong with a doubtful expression.
“This is what happened.” Kong explained the whole situation to them.
“Haha, so he just fell from the sky! Shiki, Shiki! Who would have thought you’d end up like this!” Garp laughed shamelessly.
“So, Admiral, did you call us to find someone to support Gion?” Sengoku pondered for a moment and asked.
“Exactly!” Kong nodded and said seriously, “After Shiki disappeared for a while, he has been acting in secret, and no one knows if he has any accomplices now. I’m afraid someone might come to rescue him, and Gion can’t hold her own against them!”
“Right!” Sengoku agreed, nodding. Then he asked, “So, Admiral, who do you want to send?”
Kong didn’t answer immediately but instead looked at Kizaru, who was pretending to be clueless. Garp and Sengoku followed his gaze and looked at Kizaru.
“Aaah, it’s already 5 o’clock now, it’s time to get off work. Fleet Admiral, I’m going off duty, see you tomorrow!” Sensing the intense gazes of the three, Kizaru pretended to look at the time, stood up, turned around, and was about to leave.
At this moment, three powerful auras locked onto Kizaru, causing him to break out in a cold sweat.
“Ah, heh, I considered it, and I think this task is definitely suited for me. Fleet Admiral, you can rest assured and leave it to me!” Kizaru quickly turned around, patting his chest to reassure them.
“Good! The Marine needs more people like you who take the initiative to take responsibility!” Kong showed a satisfied smile and nodded.
“Ehehe!” Kizaru could only touch his nose and dryly laugh, not knowing what else to say.
