Above Pirate King - Chapter 141
Before the arrival of the navy, Arthur waited for the arrival of an expected and unexpected person.
That was the friend from Wano Country that Shigekuni mentioned Unohana Kitomaru.
Blood Port Town
The sun is shining brightly at noon!
The first time Arthur saw Kitomaru, he was a bit surprised because Kitomaru’s appearance was beyond his expectations. When people thought of the Wano Country, they would involuntarily imagine a samurai dressed in a kimono, wearing wooden clogs and carrying a katana. However, the Kitomaru in front of him was wearing a white Western-style suit, had a large pompadour hairstyle, and white leather shoes. Despite his white hair, he looked spirited and handsome, like an elderly man. He was carrying a suitcase, not a sword.
Beside him was his daughter.
Arthur was also surprised by Kitomaru’s daughter’s appearance. Instead of being thin and frail as he had imagined a sick person would look, she was a well-endowed young lady. Except for slightly pale lips, she looked just like a normal person. She was dressed in a kimono, wearing a katana, and had a gentle and elegant appearance, making her seem more like a person from the Wano Country than Kitomaru did.
However, for some reason, Arthur felt a sinister and malevolent aura from her, as if she were a demon disguised as a human.
“Hello, Your Majesty Arthur!” Kitomaru smiled and bowed.
“Grandpa Kitomaru, there’s no need for such formalities. Just call me Arthur!” Arthur lightly supported him and quickly said.
After all, Kitomaru was a good friend of Shigekuni and, in a way, Arthur’s elder.
“Alright, Arthur!” Kitomaru smiled and then turned to introduce his daughter behind him, saying, “This is my daughter, Unohana Retsu.”
“Hello!” Arthur smiled and extended his hand.
“Hello!” Retsu smiled gently and shook hands with Arthur.
“Alright, now that it’s already noon, I have prepared lunch. Let’s eat and talk!” Arthur gestured invitingly and smiled.
“Sounds good!” Kitomaru nodded with a smile.
Led by Arthur, the three of them arrived at Spicy Bottom Hotpot.
Due to the Marine’s blockade in recent days, the entire town was deserted, and Spicy Bottom naturally had no customers. So Arthur had the whole restaurant to themselves.
Under the attentive service of the waiter, a table full of dishes was quickly served.
“Here, Grandpa Kitomaru, and you, Retsu, try this. This is the specialty liquor of this restaurant, Sakura Sake! It’s the purest sake brought by the owner’s ancestors from the Wano Country.” Arthur poured a glass for Kitomaru and another for Retsu.
“Thank you, it looks good!”
Saying so, Kitomaru took a sip, his eyes lighting up. He drank it all in one go and put down the glass, expressing his satisfaction, “Not bad. This taste is even better than some of the famous sake in the Wano Country!”
Arthur smiled and poured another glass for Kitomaru.
After a few glasses of sake, Kitomaru finally stopped and turned his gaze to the pile of obviously raw dishes in front of him, asking curiously, “How do we eat these dishes?”
Although there was a custom of eating raw fish in the Wano Country, these dishes in front of him were obviously not meant to be eaten raw, considering the boiling hot pot in front of them.
Arthur smiled and demonstrated the proper way to eat, and soon Kitomaru adeptly followed suit.
In this way, the three of them ate and chatted.
Arthur also learned about Kitomaru’s profession, which surprised him once again. Most people would associate the Wano Country with samurai and swordsmen, but Kitomaru’s profession turned out to be a surgeon!
Well, after all, both professions involve using a blade!
However, when the word “doctor” was mentioned, there was a hint of bitterness in Kitomaru’s words. Arthur noticed it, and combined with the information he had received from Shigekuni before, he could understand. What is the greatest pain for a doctor?
When they could treat others, but not their family!
“By the way, Grandpa Kitomaru, do you have any thoughts about your life ahead?” Arthur asked while eating.
“I want to open a small clinic and treat people’s illnesses. If possible, I’d prefer it to be in a secluded place with fewer people, quiet surroundings, and a spacious area. It would be great if there’s a garden; my daughter enjoys taking care of flowers!” Kitomaruanswered without hesitation, showing that he had already prepared for this before coming.
“Alright, I’ll arrange it for you!” Arthur readily agreed, patting his chest.
Next, Arthur made a phone call, and in less than half a day, he found the place that Kitomaru wanted.
At St. Martin City.
“Grandpa Kitomaru, how about this house?” Arthur brought Kitomaru to a house.
This house was located on a quiet and secluded street in St Martin City, filled with green trees and flowers. In front of the house was a spacious and bright storefront, and behind it was a large villa with a courtyard.
Seeing this house, Kitomaru nodded in satisfaction. But then, he looked at Retsu with hopeful eyes and asked, “Dear, how do you feel about this place?”
“Ah!”
Retsu closed her eyes, opened her hands, and after feeling the surroundings, she let out a deep breath and said, “It’s good. This place can make βherβ calm.”
“That’s great!” Hearing this, Kitomaru became even more satisfied.
“Grandpa Kitomaru, let me show you around!” Arthur said with a smile.
“Okay!” Kitomaru nodded.
Arthur led the two through the storefront and into the backyard. As soon as they opened the door, they heard a pleasant ringing sound.
“Ring, ring, ring!”
A delightful wind chime sound came.
Before them was a courtyard with a distinct Wano Country style β wooden corridors, a small pond, pink cherry blossom trees, and in the corner, several pots of white lilies!
“Not bad, not bad!” Kitomaru was very satisfied and praised it twice.
Then, Arthur showed them the bedroom, kitchen, living room, and other places. Afterward, they left the place.
“Someone treats you so well, how are you going to repay them?” As soon as Arthur left, Retsu’s expression changed, as if she had transformed into a different person. With a smile that wasn’t quite a smile, she said this.
“Retsu, didn’t you say this place can make you calm? Why did you come out? Yachimaru!” Kitomaru looked at Retsu, who seemed like a different person, frowning.
“I can come out if I want to. What’s it to you, old man?” Retsu replied fiercely, putting her hand on the long sword at her waist, staring back at Kitomaru. However, after meeting Kitomaru’s stern gaze for a while, she was defeated.
“Yachimaru, it seems you’ve forgotten the lessons you received from me since you were little!” Kitomaru said coldly, and a semi-transparent surgical knife appeared in his hand.
“Heh, old man, you think I’m afraid of you?” Retsu placed her hand on the long sword at her waist, showing a fierce expression as she looked back at Kitomaru. But after a brief confrontation with Kitomaru’s piercing gaze, she lost her composure.
“Alright, I won’t argue with you, old man!” Retsu waved her hand dismissively, seeming nonchalant, but there was a hint of uneasiness in her tone.
Only then did Kitomaru put away the surgical knife and sneered, “Heh, you’re still uncontrollable, crazy girl!”
“However, speaking of which, what Yachimaru said is not wrong. Since we’re going to live here in the future, let’s help this little guy solve some minor troubles!” Kitomaru murmured.
