- 3. Welcome To The World Of Magic
Suddenly, the air seemed to freeze, and I couldn’t determine how much time had passed. Professor X took a deep breath, fixed his gaze on Lynn, and spoke slowly and deliberately.
“If my memory serves me right, Lynn, you’re a delta-level mutant, and apart from having a higher level brain development than ordinary people, you don’t possess any other special abilities.”
With ond hand, he pointed to the mysterious plan that had suddenly appeared on the table, while the other rubbed his brow in puzzlement. “So, can you explain to me what’s going on here?”
The professor felt a slight headache because he realized that today’s conversation was definitely not a spontaneous idea but rather a premeditated plan.
The student in front of him was guiding and controlling the conversation’s pace step by step!
“Its Magic, Professor” Lynn didn’t try to hide it anymore. After ten years of concealing it, he would be a fool to continue doing so. “This is my true ability”
Professor X’s intelligence was undeniable, and after a moment of contemplation, he understood everything. This young student had been hiding his true potential ever since he entered the X Academy, deceiving all the teachers, including the principal himself.
“Magic…” Professor X resisted the urge to invade Lynn’s mind telepathically to find out more. “I don’t know why you’ve been hiding your ability, but by revealing it today, it must be related to this plan, isn’t it?”
“Yes, Professor,” Lynn nodded.
“You’re so serious; it seems that you have planned this all along,” a meaningful smile appeared on the corner of Professor X’s mouth. “Then tell me, how do you plan to save the mutants?”
Lynn also smiled, knowing that this conversation had reached its critical point.
“In fact, I believe both Magneto and you, Professor, have made a significant mistake from the very beginning – that is, distinguishing mutants from regular humans as completely separate entities.”
“Why can’t mutants and ordinary people be united as one?”
Facing Professor X’s enigmatic gaze, Lynn spoke with eloquence, and with each word, he revealed astonishing insights. “Decades ago, an Eastern sage said that the true triumph in conflict lies in making more friends and fewer enemies…”
“But now, mutants find themselves friendless and confronted by enemies all around the world…”
“Is it really just because ordinary people fear and dread mutants due to the potential destruction they can cause with their superpowers?”
“No”
“These are just superficial reasons”
“The real problem is that mutants… have no voice in this world”
Upon hearing the first sentence, Professor X initially thought it was just youthful naivety on Lynn’s part. The idea that mutants and regular people could become one was something only an inexperienced young person might propose. But as Lynn continued speaking, Professor X’s expression changed. “Having… no voice?”
“Yes!” Lynn’s eyes blazed with passion as he declared, “Because we lack a voice, when mutants are labeled as freaks, we are unable to defend ourselves”
“Because we lack a voice, when mutants are captured, hunted down, and subjected to inhumane experiments, the world stands by, and some even justify such actions”
“And again, because we lack a voice, politicians can easily pass laws like the Mutant Registration Act or use various methods to oppress mutants With time, attacking mutants has become a ‘normal’ thing. This ‘normalcy’ is terrifying!”
“It not only fuels the world’s hostility towards mutants, but it also leads many mutants to believe they are monsters! That they shouldn’t exist in this world! They lose faith in themselves!”
“So even before an actual war with humans has begun, mutants have already lost half the battle”
Professor X had never considered this perspective before. He was stunned, attempting to refute several times, but Lynn’s words were reasonable and seemed to unveil the root cause of the mutants’ tragedy.
And Lynn wasn’t finished yet: “Imagine, Professor, what if mutants had a voice?”
“Mutants possess extraordinary powers, why can’t they be considered an evolution of human genes? Why can’t they be a gift from God? Why can’t they be a manifestation of human civilization’s progress?”
“If this line of thinking becomes dominant, who would envy mutants? Who would condemn them?;£t that time, those who still reject mutants would be seen as the heretics”
Had Professor X seen the impact of Lynn’s words on the black-robed protesters, he would have undoubtedly considered them the most reasonable words spoken. But unfortunately, he hadn’t witnessed it.
Nonetheless, he couldn’t help but yearn for the world Lynn described.
At this moment, the world’s most powerful telepath experienced a tremendous mental shock.
He looked at Lynn with astonishment, “Lynn, where did you come up with such thoughts… and ideas?”
“Really?” Lynn momentarily lost track of the conversation, then quickly recomposed himself, saying, “Professor, are you interested? I can recommend some books to you.”
With a snap of his fingers, a large stack of books appeared in front of Professor X out of thin air, with the top one titled “Mao Xuan.”
“Is the culture of the ancient Eastern countries truly so vast and profound?” Professor X couldn’t help but exclaim.
“Then, in your opinion, how can we amplify the voice of mutants?”
“In the world of ordinary people, money and power are often the key factors,” Lynn said, spreading his hands. “When we become a world-class consortium, hold the reins of the global economy, and have politicians from various countries backing us, when the whole world acknowledges that mutant genes represent human evolution and that mutants are favored by God…”
“At that point, mutants will be the undeniable trend of the era..And peace will naturally follow.”
As he spoke, Lynn picked up the plan from the table and handed it over to Professor X with a smile. “Professor, the peace we create for ourselves is the true peace, don’t you think?”
Professor X fell silent for a long moment. After all that had been said, if he still didn’t understand Lynn’s true intentions, he might as well bang his head against the wall!
Indeed! When he turned to the first page of the proposal, he saw the words “Establish a Mutant Consortium.”
“So, you’re here… to seek investment?” His expression became oddly amused.
A graduate of the X Academy who didn’t wish to join the X-Men but wanted to start a business…
And he came to me, the principal, for investment… Such a notion had never crossed his mind.
At that moment, Professor X looked at the harmless-looking Lynn and felt a mixture of absurdity and bewilderment. “By starting a mutant company, you plan to form a consortium? Control the world economy? Support compliant politicians?”
“What kind of project is this that you’re so confident about?”
“Of course, this is no ordinary project,” Lynn replied, aware of the doubts in Professor X’s mind. He smiled and snapped his fingers again.
“Welcome to the world of magic, Professor!”
