Arceus in One Piece - Chapter 13
“Why! I prepared the ship, so why do I have to scout the area? Your flying speed is faster than mine anyway.” Above the open sea, Kaido transformed into a tropical dragon and flew alongside the small boat. He was tasked with scouting the nearby waters, and he wasn’t too pleased about it.
“Mr. Kaido is the captain, and the Holy Beast Lord still can’t fly. I have to take care of the Holy Beast, Lord. If not you, then who?”
“Don’t we have that guy, Ash, for this?”
“How much space does he occupy, and how much do you occupy? Besides, Ash still needs to steer the ship. And don’t you feel like the whole ship becomes spacious when you’re flying? If you had prepared a bigger ship, this wouldn’t be an issue!”
Kaido didn’t intervene in the argument between Shaina and Kaido. In his view, such disagreements were normal, and he had to admit one thing: among all present, Kaido occupied the largest area. When he flew, not only did the ship become much more spacious, but even the speed increased.
Kaido also flapped his leaf-like wings and flew into the sky, wanting to quickly grasp the situation with his new body. From the small boat below, occasional attacks could be seen coming from the sky.
“By the way, where exactly are we?” Looking at the boundless sea, Arceus wanted to know which area they were in—whether it was the Four Blues or the Grand Line, and if it was the latter, whether it was the first or second half.
At this time, Roger hadn’t become the Pirate King yet, but the seas were still filled with numerous strong individuals. The enemies encountered varied depending on the area, and that was something to be cautious about.
With their current small boat’s strength, as long as they weren’t in the New World, they could basically navigate freely.
“Sorry, Holy Beast Lord, we don’t know where we are. Before we were captured, we were near the Sambas Islands, but we don’t know the exact location of that laboratory.”
“That laboratory is on the Red Soil Continent. We came directly from the Red Soil Continent. This is the South Sea, and the direction we’re heading in is the Calm Belt.”
After flying around, Queen returned and provided Arceus with the information he wanted.
The Grand Line and the Red Soil Continent were like latitudes and longitudes, dividing this world into four parts. The two sides of the Grand Line were surrounded by vast Calm Belts, and below were the nests of Sea Kings, the largest threat to ships.
For ordinary pirates wanting to enter the Grand Line, there was only one route—climbing up from the Reverse Mountain against the usual sea currents.
For flying groups like them, climbing the Reverse Mountain was no longer necessary. Crossing the Calm Belts was much more convenient for them.
This was also one of the ways to leave the Grand Line. The Reverse Mountain was a one-way path, and there were no underwater caves like Fishman Island below. Entering the Grand Line wasn’t easy, and leaving it wasn’t easy either.
The World Government and the Navy didn’t set up fortresses at the Reverse Mountain and the Samba Islands to block those troublesome pirates, probably for this reason.
Compared to the vast Four Blues, the area of the Grand Line was much smaller. While there were strong individuals here, the World Government’s foundation and the providers of numerous taxes were the common people, who far outnumbered those in the Grand Line.
Letting those troublemakers leave was actually a good thing. It also allowed them to concentrate their efforts better to deal with them.
This might be one reason, but ultimately, whether the World Government should do this or not had nothing to do with Arceus. What he noticed now was another thing: Queen was giving directions instead of Kaido.
“Kaido, what’s going on? Don’t tell me Queen knows where John is.”
Ever since Kaido mentioned seeing the slate in the Rox Pirates’ treasure vault, he just wanted to find John as quickly as possible.
Even if Kaido couldn’t defeat John, as long as he entered the predetermined range of the slate, he could let the slate return to its original position.
The missing power made it inconvenient for him now. He couldn’t even scratch his back properly.
Moreover, the special ring around his waist called the “Thousand Arms Bracelet,” was also part of his power. After all, in legend, Arceus also had a creature with a thousand arms.
The good news was that the Thousand Arms Bracelet didn’t affect his movements now. Although it looked extremely sturdy, it could actually be controlled. For example, when he wanted to lie down, the Thousand Arms Bracelet would soften instead of stiffening and trapping him in place.
Activating the power of the Thousand Arms Bracelet probably required four slates. This amount could give him the power of transformation and flight. If they could find the Superpower Slate directly, that would be even better.
There was a one-sixteenth chance that the slate in Captain John’s treasure was the miraculous Superpower Slate. He had already prepaid the “wages” for this slate, so procrastination was not acceptable.
“Queen, of course, he doesn’t know. Didn’t I already say? Right now, I’m not sure where he is, either. We need to recruit some manpower first, or else too many things will have to be done by ourselves. And don’t worry, that guy won’t stay in the Four Blues for long.
They all gathered together years ago for some “big money-making” opportunity. I’m sure of two things: that legendary treasure hasn’t been found yet, and that thing must be in the Grand Line.
John is a greedy guy. He won’t let this opportunity pass by.”
To prove his point, Kaido said to Queen, “Queen, get me a Den Den Mushi.”
After receiving the Den Den Mushi handed over by Queen, Kaido dialled a number.
“Ring, ring, ring~ ring, ring, ring~”
After a series of rings, the Den Den Mushi changed its appearance, and a female voice came from it.
“Well… well… well~ Kaido, you bastard, you actually called me. This is rare. It’s been so many years, and I thought you also died in the Valley of the Gods.”
“Stop joking, Ling Ling. I won’t die in a place like that. I just have a question for you. You should know where John went, right?”
