- Chapter 30 - I, an Ordinary Person, Defeated a Jinchuriki
Rasa was a man who had seen his fair share of storms, and as Gaara’s father, he faced numerous shocks on a daily basis. Over the years, he had developed a strong heart.
Soon, he snapped out of his shock, but there was no ease on his face whatsoever.
Being able to casually produce such a huge sum of assets was probably something even the daimyo of the Five Great Nations couldn’t achieve, let alone him as the Kazekage. After all, Magnet Release wasn’t all-powerful.
Moreover, when Wang Yan performed his little trick earlier to conjure up a pile of jewels, he didn’t use any sealing scrolls or show any chakra fluctuations!
“What is this?” Gaara’s father asked tentatively.
The question seemed out of place, but Wang Yan understood what he meant.
Extending his left hand, he slightly curled his four fingers.
On the slender and fair little finger, a dazzling storage ring emitted a faint cold light, indicating its extraordinary nature.
“This is the Dragon Ring, one of the newly released flagship products of the Council. It can perform the same function as a sealing scroll, but it’s more convenient and efficient. Even ordinary people like me, who have no knowledge of any ninjutsu, can use it.”
Wang Yan’s smile was very amiable, and he didn’t even need to rehearse when bluffing.
As they listened to his casual nonsense, all three members of Team 7 couldn’t help but twitch their mouths.
Damn!
Before teaming up with the main god, wasn’t their mentor an actor?
He was blatantly spouting nonsense in front of people who knew the truth, and didn’t feel ashamed at all, nor did it seem out of place.
Perhaps Wang Yan really didn’t know ninjutsu, but he definitely couldn’t be considered an “ordinary person”!
“The Shinobi World Peace Council… Dragon Ring… I’ll remember that,” Gaara’s father nodded. He didn’t feel ashamed of his lack of intelligence, as the world was so vast that nobody knew how many powerful factions there were besides the Five Great Nations.
Wang Yan raised two fingers and smiled, “Can we move on to the second matter?”
Gaara’s father displayed a serious and respectful attitude, “Of course, please go ahead.”
Wang Yan didn’t give any feedback on his change in attitude. He spoke as if he were reading an announcement, “We hope to improve the quantity and quality of Sand Village shinobi through education, to jointly build a better future for the shinobi world!”
“We want every future shinobi to not only possess powerful abilities but also emphasize civilization, politeness, hygiene, order, and morality. At the same time, they should embody beauty in mind, language, behavior, and environment.”
“This is the tone set by the Council for every member and affiliated force, known as the ‘Five Emphases and Four Beauties.'”
“We firmly believe that as long as everyone has both strong power and a kind heart, peace in the shinobi world can be achieved!”
Gaara’s father felt dizzy listening to all this. If it weren’t for the half of the conference hall filled with gold bricks, he would have labeled Wang Yan as an idiot the moment he heard these words.
For thousands of years, the Five Great Nations had been fighting and competing with each other. Although major forces were currently preparing for a future conflict, it was clear that there was deep animosity between them.
It could be foreseen that in the near future, there would be a huge war between nations that would engulf the entire shinobi world!
In such an environment, maintaining a belief in “peace” was simply daydreaming!
Moreover, what was this “Five Emphases and Four Beauties”?
Even if the Sage of Six Paths were alive, it would be impossible to achieve such a utopian era!
People cared about face. Just now, they took someone’s money, and then insulted them as idiots. That was really low.
After contemplating his words for a while, Gaara’s father said, “The daimyo of the Land of Wind has ordered us to downsize our military to save costs. If we train more shinobi, it’s equivalent to breaking ties with them.”
As he spoke, his gaze swept over the pile of jewels. He was hinting to Wang Yan—while the daimyo of the Land of Wind had given them a lot of money, it was only a one-time thing, and he wouldn’t do something like killing the goose that laid the golden eggs.
Wang Yan grinned and sneered, “The daimyo of the Land of Wind? That insignificant pawn won’t last long, no need to worry about him.”
At this moment, he finally revealed a hint of dominance, or rather, the sinister face of a capitalist hidden deep within.
For people with useful value, even if they didn’t know ninjutsu or were beggars, he would spare no effort to educate and guide them. But for those labeled as “worthless,” he couldn’t be bothered to waste half a brain cell thinking about their situation.
The daimyo of the Land of Wind, the daimyo of the Land of Fire… They might not have offended Wang Yan directly, but they were in his way.
The only two outcomes awaiting them were either abdication or death!
Hearing Wang Yan’s words, the three members of Team 7 looked at Gaara’s father with a sympathetic yet understanding gaze.
Three seconds later—
Whoosh!
Two figures appeared in the conference hall.
One of them was Wang Yan, and the other…
With blood-red short hair and the kanji for “love” inscribed on his forehead, carrying a large gourd on his back.
“Gaara!”
Gaara’s father’s pupils contracted dangerously, a chill rushing from the soles of his feet to his head. His short hair stood on end, clearly startled.
Gaara, his own son, a proud Jinchuriki, had just lost his combat strength and will to resist in less than ten seconds in front of Wang Yan, an ordinary person, and was captured alive!
A terrifying sense of horror surged through Gaara’s father’s heart, overwhelming his entire body.
“Don’t worry, your son was just affected by the illusion stored in the Dragon Ring, ‘Minor Deity,’ and will soon recover.”
“And, the One-Tail has also been temporarily sealed by the ‘Wood Release: Tailed Beast Hunter Technique,’ so there’s no need to worry about it going berserk.”
Wang Yan looked at Gaara’s father with a smirk, his tone slightly teasing, “How about it? Does Mr. Rasa now believe in the Council’s strength and determination?”
Gaara’s father’s face darkened, unable to voice his anger. “Let’s talk about the third matter first.”
“The third matter is to promote virtual reality games!”
Wang Yan looked bewildered. “It seems like you’re not very interested in this. Should I wake up your son so we can all bond?”
Gaara’s father was frustrated, but gritted his teeth. “No, I am very interested in this virtual reality game.”
He felt like he had never been this frustrated in his entire life!
