Be the Main God from Naruto - Chapter 34
“Danzo has privately promised me that as long as we get through this crisis and help him become Hokage, he’ll grant the Hyuga clan more power and status…”
After contemplating seriously, Hiashi chuckled coldly: “Then what? Become the next Uchiha?”
In his eyes, the higher-ups of Konoha, especially Danzo, had no credibility whatsoever; their promises were nothing more than empty words, utterly repulsive.
The Hyuga clan was already at the pinnacle of its power in Konoha, with no room left to rise; any further ascent would make them too powerful, inviting suppression.
If Danzo had promised to maintain the Hyuga clan’s current status, perhaps Hiashi might have wavered, playing the opportunist.
Unfortunately, Danzo had aged. The once cunning and manipulative politician had now become foolish and vicious, casually making such offers.
Plotting even as disaster loomed…
Did he take him for a fool?
Boom!
A puff of white smoke appeared before Hiashi.
As the smoke cleared, a figure emerged.
Tall, wearing a headband with the character “Oil,” bald, with a red mark under his eyes, dressed in a red coat over a tea-colored outfit, wooden sandals on his feet, and armored gloves on both hands.
Despite the significant changes in appearance, Hiashi recognized him immediately.
Jiraiya!
“Byakugan, activate!”
Veins bulged from the corners of his eyes to his temples. In this state, Hiashi had a 360-degree, no-blind-spot vision.
No intelligence personnel could eavesdrop on their conversation.
“Lord Jiraiya, it’s been a long time.”
“Leader of the Hyuga clan, greetings.”
Jiraiya’s expression was serious, his tone sincere and earnest: “I’ve come hoping…”
Before he could finish, Hiashi cut him off firmly: “I agree! The Hyuga clan will stand with the Sannin!”
“Huh?”
Jiraiya rubbed his bald head, looking puzzled.
Could the Byakugan read minds? The Hyuga clan had kept that deeply hidden…
“The reputation of the Hyuga clan is well-known across the shinobi world, so no proof is needed.”
Leaving behind these words in a precise manner, Jiraiya gave Hiashi a deep look.
In the next instant, his figure dissipated like mist.
“Ah…”
Hiashi sighed.
Despite his swift and decisive decision just now, with no one around, he immediately became a weary middle-aged man, his face full of sad resignation: “What is the point of striving for power and fighting over gains in human life of merely fifty years? Is peace truly just an unachievable fantasy?”
Pulling out a bottle of fine sake he had treasured for many years, Hiashi drank alone.
Soon, the bottle was empty.
Through drunken eyes, the world seemed gentler.
Drunk thoughts are quite different from sober ones.
Normally not very attentive to his daughter, Hiashi suddenly felt that he had been too biased over the years, neglecting Hinata’s care and education too much.
“Byakugan!”
“Hinata, what are you doing?”
Hiashi saw his daughter busily sketching at her desk, using pens of various thicknesses, and looked over instinctively.
One glance and his worldview were shattered.
“Why would she draw such things? Could it be that she likes girls?”
Utterly baffled, Hiashi’s face turned livid.
Through her drawings, Hinata had constructed a bizarre world.
Besides the absurd setting of girls marrying and having children with each other, there were other plots he simply could not tolerate.
In that manga, he saw characters that looked very much like himself and Neji.
“Pfft…”
A mouthful of blood mixed with alcohol sprayed out.
Hiashi passed out.
…
The next day.
A certain swordsman, whose catchphrase was “Give it a try,” once said: “There are three inevitables in life—honor, death, and a hangover.”
Now, Hiashi was experiencing a hangover.
His head throbbing painfully, he dared not use chakra to ease his condition. Instead, he managed to stand and perform several rounds of gentle fists, sweating profusely, before he finally felt better.
“What happened yesterday…”
“Jiraiya, Hinata, the manga…”
With a twitch in his eye and a face full of anger, Hiashi stormed into Hinata’s bedroom.
His aggressive approach, however, was in vain.
By then, Hinata had already run off to the publisher with the first issue of her manga, which she had worked overtime to finish the night before.
After knocking on the door to no reply, Hiashi, frustrated, kicked it open.
A pile of manga books met his eyes.
“‘Naruto
‘? What is this?”
Flipping to the title page and reading the utterly Mary Sue-esque story synopsis, Hiashi took a deep breath to quell his inner fury.
Ultimately, it was his fault; having decided that Hinata lacked the potential and value to become a strong ninja, he had given up on her and focused on cultivating Hanabi instead.
Thinking of the scene he witnessed the night before, Hiashi felt a deep pang of regret.
Unexpectedly, his daughter had strayed so far off course!
Yuri, Yaoi, Female Supremacy…
“What a mess!”
With a critical eye, Hiashi opened ‘Naruto’ and began to read page by page.
The plot starts with Sakura Haruno observing two boys of her age.
One was her admiration for the genius Sasuke on his first day at ninja school, and the other was Naruto, the class clown who admired her.
As he read about Naruto stealing the Scroll of Seals and instantly learning the Multi-Shadow Clone Technique, Hiashi nodded in approval.
“This author has done some homework; she must be either a high-ranking official in Konoha or a powerful female ninja.”
As for a male ninja writing this?
Hiashi never even considered it!
Which normal man could understand a girl’s heart to this extent?
Impossible!
But when he got to the part about assigning teams, Hiashi scoffed.
“Team 7 led by Kakashi Hatake? This is all wrong from here! Kakashi was the instructor for Team 10!”
“Still, the bell and lunchbox tests to assess teamwork and awareness sound like Kakashi’s style.”
He vividly remembered that the instructor for Team 7, Wang Yan, had tested the adaptability of three genin by even blowing up several classrooms.
Although he viewed the manga’s content as a female ninja’s fantasy and fabrication, he had to admit the storyline was quite interesting.
Gradually, Hiashi let go of his initial resistance and engaged in deep reading.
The Land of Waves, Zabuza Momochi and Haku; the Chunin Exams, the destruction of Konoha; Pain’s assault, the Moon Eye Plan, the Fourth Great Ninja War, the Allied Shinobi Forces…
Besides the normal advancement of the plot, many characters’ flashbacks also reveal past secrets and truths.
Sasori assassinated the Third Kazekage…
The deceitful Danzo forced Shisui to pluck out his own Mangekyo Sharingan and commit suicide by throwing himself into a river…
Itachi Uchiha annihilated his clan, met the masked man, joined the Akatsuki…
Orochimaru lost his arms and left the Akatsuki, founding the Hidden Sound Village…
At that moment, Hinata returned, her face beaming with joy.
Although the editor thought the Yaoi element was cultish and Yuri was the true path, somehow, after agreeing to modify some parts of the plot, her manuscript finally met the publisher’s standards!
“Um… Father.” Seeing the messy room, Hinata’s smile gradually faded, subtly hiding the draft letter behind her.
“These books, where did you get them from?”
Focusing on his daughter, Hiashi tried to appear authoritative, though his voice trembled slightly.
