Be the Main God from Naruto - Chapter 39
How strong is the combined force of the Sannin?
Under the 15% all-around combat enhancement of the KOF contract, how long would it take them to defeat the stubborn feudal remnants within Konoha? The answer is… five minutes.
This includes Might Guy and his disciples.
The Blue Beast of Konoha could not utilize his full strength before being knocked unconscious—a feat largely due to Jiraiya’s efforts.
When Jiraiya watched Might Guy progressively unlock the Eight Gates, he experienced a familiar and intense sense of déjà vu.
It reminded him of a recent manga he redeemed using reward points, “The Legend of the Saiyan Superman.”
In that manga, whenever the protagonist, Son Gohan, faced an unbeatable enemy, he would transform into a Super Saiyan, instantly multiplying his power hundreds or thousands of times, easily defeating formidable opponents…
Might Guy’s appearance and explosion of power be strikingly similar to the main character’s transformation in the manga?
Such scenarios occurring with the enemy made Jiraiya, the Toad Sage, question if all his novel and manga reading was in vain.
Without hesitation, Jiraiya shared his thoughts with Tsunade and Orochimaru.
The Sannins, perfectly in sync, combined their efforts and unleashed their ultimate moves. They instantly overwhelmed Might Guy, who had only opened up to the Sixth Gate: Gate of View, dispersing his Evening Elephant technique and knocking him unconscious.
Although formidably strong, Rock Lee, Might Guy’s disciple, was still too young. He was overpowered and rendered unconscious by a combined assault from Suigetsu Hozuki, Shizune, Jugo, Kabuto Yakushi, and Kimimaro.
At that moment, Rock Lee stood proudly, his left hand like a blade across his chest and his right hand behind his back, but his eyes were completely lifeless as he fought to unconsciousness.
Despite this, he refused to go down, his wounds bleeding profusely, dyeing the ground a dark red.
“Enough!”
Hiruzen Sarutobi, nearly out of chakra, tearfully said four difficult words: “We… concede!”
These words seemed to drain all his strength.
Once a great shinobi, now no longer spirited, aged, and weary, he appeared disheveled and utterly spent, his face wrinkled and tired like a common frail old man.
With a flash, Orochimaru appeared before Hiruzen, his Sword of Kusanagi slashing down.
Snap!
Tsunade and Jiraiya, one in front and one behind, instantly appeared. One grabbed the hand with the sword, and the other embraced him from behind, stopping Orochimaru’s attack.
Orochimaru’s brow raised, his tone cold yet with an undertone of warmth incomprehensible to outsiders: “He deserves a hero’s end.”
In his eyes, his teacher could die on the battlefield, but not as a prisoner captured after surrendering, spending his final days in a cell.
Hearing this, Tsunade sighed, “He shouldn’t die by your hand.”
“He is, after all, our teacher!” Jiraiya’s thoughts were much simpler.
With both companions intervening, Orochimaru did not insist, merely chuckling softly, “As you wish.”
War is not everything.
How to handle the aftermath, to quickly stabilize and settle the turbulent situation, is equally important.
Civilians, ninja families, major clans, the scientific division Orochimaru strongly advocated for, ninja schools…
Many things needed Tsunade to make a statement.
Jiraiya followed Tsunade like a guardian, while Orochimaru went to seek out Root to see if Danzo had been foolish enough to just watch from the sidelines.
If Danzo hadn’t moved his headquarters, Orochimaru would certainly not have missed an opportunity to eradicate them.
Among the Nara, Akimichi, and Uchiha clans…
Tsunade went from house to house, offering terms and securing agreements and promises.
When she reached the Hyuga household, a seemingly gentle and introverted Byakugan girl suddenly said, “Lady Tsunade, this is my recent work. Could you sign it for me?”
“Huh?”
Stunned by the book handed to her, Tsunade was a bit confused.
But this girl was the Hyuga clan leader’s eldest daughter, charming and impossible to refuse.
She picked up a pen and wrote down “Tsunade.”
From today onward, she no longer needed to prefix her name with “Sannin” or “Princess of a Thousand Hands.” She was now simply Tsunade, unique in her own right.
After a thought, Tsunade added another line—May Hinata Hyuga’s stories keep improving.
Holding her manuscript, Hinata’s young face beamed with a profound smile,
almost making Tsunade think she was seeing things.
“It must be the stress getting to me, and I must be seeing things…”
Tsunade comforted herself and turned to discuss serious matters with the adults.
Many major clans of Konoha had shown ambiguous attitudes during this power struggle and had not truly lent their support.
The Hyuga clan was just an example.
But sometimes…
Not choosing is also a choice.
Just like the Third Hokage once chose to watch as Naruto suffered bullying.
Tsunade stated that she was willing to accept their favor.
The only regret for Tsunade was about Konoha’s Blue Beast, Might Guy, and his disciple Rock Lee…
“Might Guy, Rock Lee.”
She repeated the names of the master and disciple, instructing those around her: “These two are talents, the future of Konoha. Get them out of prison immediately, send them to the medical unit for emergency care, and provide them with the best medical resources and treatment!”
“Yes!”
Shizune promptly acknowledged and then issued the new Hokage’s orders.
…
In the Land of Wind, Hidden Sand.
In the meeting hall, Wang Yan watched a good show, not to mention harvesting 45,260 resource points.
“This way, the stock has risen from 111,000 points to 156,260 points.”
Thus, Wang Yan’s first short-term goal was now 30% complete.
“The person ascending to the position of the Fifth Hokage remains Tsunade, unchanged. The only variable is Orochimaru’s involvement, now serving as the head of Konoha’s Science Department.”
“Also, this means the disappearance of the original world line’s ‘Destruction of Konoha Plan.'”
“With the construction of the new Konoha, by the time of the Chunin Exams, there will be more benefits.”
Where do resource points come from? What factors determine their abundance?
The answer is manifold.
Luck, matter, character abilities, reputation, lifespan, influence, the will of beings, destiny, causality, future achievements…
Altogether, 419 factors can influence the formation of resource points.
From several tests, Wang Yan had gained some experience.
Direct slaughter and looting yielded the least resource points, and they were one-time transactions; once people were killed, there was nothing left.
Changing the destiny of significant characters yielded more substantial and continuous resource points.
Wang Yan wasn’t frugal with reward points; when needed, he used them. His storage ring, the Panlong Ring, also held many interesting items from various dimensions, yet his reward points never dropped too much.
Why?
Orochimaru, Jiraiya, Tsunade, Sasuke, Naruto, Sakura…
Even when these six reincarnators weren’t on missions, occasionally, their actions impacted the world, creating variables that also provided Wang Yan with resource points.
While not substantial, they were still beneficial.
“A river does not refuse a trickle; thus, it can become great.
A mountain does not refuse a speck of dust. Thus, it can reach its height.”
