Be the Main God from Naruto - Chapter 59
In the VIP section, Tsunade sat with her arms crossed, her expression severe and her dignity fully displayed.
Beside her, Orochimaru was fervently writing and sketching at his desk, seemingly engrossed in data for some research project.
The restless Jiraiya had gotten an exam paper from the proctor and started working on it himself.
While working on the first ten questions, Jiraiya was confident: “These questions are quite simple…”
But from the eleventh question onwards, he started to get confused.
“Do these options even have a correct answer?”
Jiraiya’s face bore an expression of constipation.
These multiple-choice questions were a test of character; the hypothetical scenarios described were so extreme that every option felt like the “wrong choice.”
The quiz had a total of 70 questions, one point each, but he was unsure about the remaining 60 beyond the initial 10 easy ones.
Jiraiya leaned over to Tsunade, pointing at the question about a man with a broken leg, and asked with a mischievous grin, “Which option is correct here?”
“Save him? Kill him? Kill all the carnivorous beasts in the jungle? Or just ignore him?”
Tsunade rolled her eyes at him and whispered, “There’s no set right answer.”
“How are they going to grade this?” Jiraiya was stunned.
Who came up with these questions?
They’re simply toxic!
“You’ll find out soon enough,” Tsunade said with a half-smile.
She doubted even Orochimaru could score full marks on this test.
“Pfft, just you wait! The Toad Sage’s score will crush these rookie ninjas!”
Jiraiya was annoyed by the mysterious air of the others, and with a huff, he finished the multiple-choice section.
Finally, he came face to face with the final boss.
The essay question is worth thirty points!
“Suppose that in nine months, a group of beings stronger than the Sage of the Six Paths will descend upon this world, intending to plunder everyone’s chakra completely. What would you do?”
Jiraiya’s eyes widened, unable to begin writing.
Although he was a novelist of some renown, now holding the pen, his movements were sluggish like a battery-drained toy.
The other candidates weren’t faring much better than Jiraiya.
A chorus of suppressed groans and sighs rose in the examination hall.
These questions seemed so subjective, purely graded based on the examiner’s preferences, which was utterly unfair!
A few stubborn candidates started protesting against the proctors.
“We object! These questions are entirely dependent on the mood of the person grading them!”
“Exactly! Since Konoha is hosting, their candidates will score the highest!”
“This is rigged! We demand fairness!”
The proctors immediately stood up to maintain order, repeatedly emphasizing that the results of this written test were utterly objective and could not be influenced by the person grading.
“The written exam results are one hundred percent objective and fair! Anyone who continues to disrupt the exam will be disqualified immediately, along with their teammates,” announced a proctor ninja, his voice echoing throughout the venue.
The previously aggrieved candidates immediately quieted down, no longer daring to cause trouble.
“Hmph… Those words sound too full; I’ll see how you wrap this up.”
Known as “Devotee,” Hidan’s expression was dark, his anger evident as he wrote in bold letters: “The divine lord will surely punish those who dare to meddle with the divine!”
His writing was as fierce as his personality, with a hint of wicked charm.
Not far from him, “Elder” Kakuzu pondered momentarily and honestly filled in his proper thoughts: “Faced with an opponent we absolutely can’t beat, the only choice is to join them! Perhaps these beings will spare my abilities.”
Naruto scratched his head, nearly chewing his pen bald.
After a while, he decided and wrote resolutely: “Fight them!”
In contrast to Naruto, Rock Lee wrote a lengthy, earnest essay summarizing at the end: “The power of youth is limitless. We will surely overcome the enemy if we properly utilize these nine months!”
After spending too much time and energy on the multiple-choice questions, Sasuke moved on to the final essay question.
After reading the prompt, he couldn’t help but glance towards the spectator seats at Wang Yan.
Internally deliberating the final question, Sasuke felt a chill run down his spine, his fingertips tingling slightly.
That familiar taste for mischief…
That identical declaration of stirring trouble…
If Wang Yan didn’t set this question, Sasuke was willing to gouge out his own eyes!
So, what deep meaning did Wang Yan have for setting this question?
“Contestant number 137, please focus on your
Paper and answer seriously!”
“Alright.”
After being reminded by the proctor, Sasuke complied willingly and began to ponder seriously.
“How should I approach this question?”
His fingers interlocked to form a pyramid, resembling a thinker.
Half an hour later, the written exam was about to end!
Sasuke placed his pen down on the desk after writing the last word, letting out a long sigh.
He had wracked his brain and written three strategies, none with a high chance of success, but hopefully, the examiner would at least give him points for effort.
Dong! Dong! Dong!
The bell rang, and the candidates stopped writing.
As the supreme leader of the hosting village, Tsunade stood up.
She didn’t use a microphone, yet her voice was loud and clear, reaching every corner of the arena: “As we said before, this exam is fair and impartial, devoid of any subjective factors.”
“Why can Konoha guarantee this? Please welcome the strongest chunin exam paper setter in history, Konoha’s elite jounin Wang Yan, to explain to everyone!”
Wang Yan, who had been leisurely snacking in the spectator seats, nodded slightly at Tsunade’s call.
His body dissipated into countless particles invisible to the naked eye, vanishing without a trace.
The next moment!
Wang Yan’s figure gradually reformed above the examination hall.
He gestured, and over five hundred exam papers hurried over to him as if sprouting legs.
This effortless gesture shocked the Kage-level powerhouses in the VIP seats.
The Third Tsuchikage unconsciously touched his pockmarked nose, his bushy eyebrows furrowed: “This ninja named Wang Yan, what’s his background? He seems strong but has no known accomplishments or fame. Was he previously a member of Konoha’s ANBU?”
A, the Raikage and so-called “fastest man in the shinobi world,” flames of combat desire burning in his eyes, burst into laughter: “Tsunade, when can I have a match with this young fellow? He’s strong!”
Tsunade looked at him with a half-smile.
(As if I don’t know how strong Wang Yan is? Go ahead and die if you want. Nobody’s stopping you!)
While the Fourth Raikage was monstrously strong, he was still within understandable limits, but Wang Yan…
That man was an over-the-top existence.
In Tsunade’s mind, Wang Yan was indeed an old demon who had wandered through countless realms, integrating various abilities and cultivation systems.
Tsunade’s thoughts drifted, but she smiled warmly and generously outwardly, making a generous offer: “If you like, you can go find him directly. Konoha won’t hinder a ninja’s progress through sparring.”
“Ha ha ha! Great!”
A didn’t notice, but as he spoke, the Fourth Kazekage watched him with a complex gaze filled with admiration, amusement, sympathy, and mockery.
