Be the Main God from Naruto - Chapter 68
In “League of Honor,” the “God of Honor” is an equipment vendor and game announcer.
After Itachi Uchiha had ended his own life using the black flames pre-set within him, the voice of the God of Honor resonated in everyone’s minds.
“First Blood has been drawn! Sasuke Uchiha has slain Tsukuyomi!”
Kisame, who had been overpowering Rock Lee, stiffened in surprise.
“This can’t be!”
How could Itachi lose to some kid fresh out of the Ninja Academy?
It was unthinkable!
Itachi hadn’t realized that the game included a “grudge” mechanic. Opting for suicide without disengaging from combat essentially handed a free kill to the opponent.
This stark reality led Kisame to misunderstand the situation.
As he was distracted, a gunshot sounded.
Bang!
Clang!
Zzz…
An explosive bullet tore through the air, striking precisely on Kisame’s large sword!
Sparks flew, and the smell of hot iron filled the air.
Bang!
Bang!
Three shots, each hitting the same spot.
Just as Kisame marveled at the unexpected power of his opponent and prepared to counterattack his blade…
Broke!
“You dare destroy my sword!”
With his beloved sword ruined, Kisame abandoned Lee and, red-eyed with fury, charged at Tenten in the distance.
Tactically, the right move was bypassing the tank to target the marksman directly.
Unfortunately, his reckless charge played right into Team 7’s hands.
“The essence of youth is to protect comrades in distress!”
Lee declared, his pupils vanishing as the chakra around him intensified enormously, forming a visible dark aura.
From a distance, he looked terrifying.
“Gate of Opening, Gate of Healing, Gate of Life, Gate of Pain…”
Initially, Lee could only open up to the fourth gate. Still, after the recent upheaval in Konoha and a miraculous recovery, Might Guy had intensely trained him to master all Eight Gates.
According to Guy—Lee was now a mature man capable of embodying the ninja way with his convictions and willpower, enabling him to wield this power responsibly.
“…Gate of Limit, Gate of View, Gate of Shock, Gate of Death!”
“Eight Gates Released Formation!”
Lee’s body was wreathed in chakra, his usually comical bowl haircut standing on end, his complexion turning blood-red, and his eyes showing nothing but sclera.
Activating all eight gates, known as the “Eight Gates Released Formation,” gives the user power tens of times greater than the Kage level in a burst.
However, it has one minor drawback—using all eight gates is akin to burning one’s life force for power, ultimately leading to the user’s death.
In the virtual reality game, this drawback wasn’t a downside!
Lee’s full release of the Eight Gates was a tactic of mutual destruction!
Tenten’s maximum sniping range was seven kilometers!
Seven kilometers, for a Kage-level fighter, was negligible.
Kisame’s fist was already inches from Tenten’s hair…
“It’s okay now! Why? Because I am here!”
Lee’s voice echoed.
Tenten looked towards the voice and saw the lifeless eyes of Lee.
He seemed to have lost entirely consciousness with the Eight Gates fully opened, yet he arrived just in time to protect her.
“Did belief push him beyond his limits?”
Sitting on the ground, Tenten felt utterly secure as she gazed at Lee protecting her. “It seems Teacher Wang Yan truly gave him an incredible gift…”
“Damn!”
Feeling the terrifying chakra surge from behind, Kisame, with shark-like teeth chattering, realized that if he ignored the man behind him, he’d likely die for real!
Kisame’s expression twisted as he turned to face Lee: “Damn it, I’ll kill you first, then deal with that girl…ugh!”
Before he could finish, a sonic boom burst beside his ear!
With one punch, Kisame’s mouthful of dagger-like teeth shattered from the impact! Not only that but half of his skull cracked as well.
“This can’t be!” Kisame uttered what should not have been said at that time, setting himself up for death.
His eyes filled with confusion.
He didn’t even see how the opponent threw the punch…
How could a mere genin possess such strength?
Impossible!
Impossible!
Before Kisame could react, Lee landed two more punches and a kick!
Bang! Bang! Bang!
His chest caved in completely, and his skull shattered.
In the next instant, Kisame vanished in a flash of light, sent to the “Ether Well” to recuperate.
After all, Lee was still too young, and his body hadn’t fully matured, so the duration he could maintain the Eight Gates was concise.
Chapter 68: The Legendary Super Genin of Konoha
Just moments later, he also transformed into a stream of light, reappearing at Team 7’s respawn well.
…
Kisame touched his face in the Ether Well of the Akatsuki, still in shock.
“Eh?”
Seeing Kisame reviving beside him, a highly weakened Itachi Uchiha flashed a look of surprise. “Were you ambushed?”
“Killed by a genin… head-on.”
Kisame touched his shark-like face, still somewhat in disbelief at what had just occurred.
He couldn’t see the enemy’s movements, and his body couldn’t keep up with the enemy’s speed.
It was an utter and complete overpowering!
“I remember now! Ibiki Morino once told me about this!”
Kisame suddenly clenched his fist, his face showing fear: “The legendary super genin of Konoha! He fought alone against the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist, killing four, with only three barely escaping with their lives…”
“?”
Itachi’s eyes went blank, his face showing a “Are you kidding me?” expression.
The legendary super genin of Konoha…
What is that?
Was there a Konoha genin who once faced seven and killed four of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen?
Ibiki Morino had been his teammate and had never heard of such an event.
Itachi’s eyes flickered, his mind racing.
Perhaps this was true.
After all, what Kisame had just said was a secret passed down by Ibiki Morino himself.
The oral traditions among the Seven Ninja Swordsmen must have some basis in reality; they wouldn’t compromise their reputations for some unfounded rumors.
At that moment, a figure materialized beside them.
The newcomer had messy red hair and a delicate face like a porcelain doll, but his eyes hid a history of bloodshed.
“The legendary super genin of Konoha? Sounds interesting…”
Gaara, with his intense gaze, did not seem discouraged by his recent defeat.
“Gaara! Didn’t you develop your unique Bloodline Limit that lets you turn into sand? Your ability to preserve your life should be stronger than the Hozuki clan’s. How could you be killed?”
Kisame couldn’t believe it. The Akatsuki had been wiped out by three people in such a short time!
He hesitated, then added, “Did you also encounter that genin with the funny hairstyle?”
“No, I was taken down by Sakura Haruno and Naruto Uzumaki working together,” Gaara replied, then seemed to fall into contemplation.
After a moment, Gaara spoke again, his voice sad: “Don’t underestimate anyone on the opposite side. They… have a very formidable teacher.”
The more Gaara’s strength improved, the more he felt the gap between himself and Wang Yan.
Initially, Gaara thought he could quickly catch up to him with some effort.
Now, it seemed…
There was a chasm between them.
