Bleach Seireitei's Discipline Captain - Chapter 101
“Hundreds of years ago, there was a talented Soul Reaper in the Sixth Division whom I had high hopes for,” Kuchiki Ginrei lamented, clearing his throat. “He was exceptionally gifted and had excellent personality. Later, upon my recommendation, he became a member of the Kuchiki Clan.”
Tokikaze sneered disdainfully. This old man might look like a decent person on the surface, but his heart was as black as coal. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have leave his own grandson to him.
Sensing Tokikaze’s gaze, Kuchiki Ginrei paused for a moment and coughed lightly, clenching his fists.
“At that time, due to being involved in internal disputes, this Soul Reaper was framed by others and subjected to unfair treatment. He was later imprisoned in the First Division’s jail.”
“In a fit of anger, he chose to kill the three Soul Reapers who were guarding him, thus embarking on a path of no return.”
“To prevent a greater disaster, I and the Captain-Commander sealed him in the Human World.”
“And just recently, the seal in the Human World was broken, and he disappeared.”
“This person’s name is Kuchiki Koga, and his Zanpakuto ability is to communicate with other Zanpakuto, inducing and amplifying the desires within their hearts, causing them to betray their masters.”
With a deep sigh, Kuchiki Ginrei’s aged face showed a hint of helplessness.
“Now, he has escaped from the seal and caused trouble again.”
“If we don’t reassert control over the Zanpakuto soon, it will surely destroy the entire Soul Society.”
Although it sounded like an exaggeration, such a situation was not impossible.
Of the thirteen Captains, apart from Aizen, Tokikaze, and Ukitake Jushiro, all of their Zanpakuto have gone rogue, including Kuchiki Ginrei’s.
Interestingly, Tokikaze had never seen Kuchiki Ginrei use his Zanpakuto, and there was rarely any information about it.
As an old man who was about to retire from the position of Captain, Kuchiki Ginrei was supposed to surrender his Zanpakuto when he retired.
Of course, as a Noble, he probably had privileges, but that was not something outsiders needed to know.
“It’s really scary,” Ky?raku commented lazily. His face full of stubble showing a hint of fatigue from a hangover, “But now that we have no information about the enemy, where do we start?”
“The only thing we can be sure of is that two-thirds of the Captains and Vice-Captains’ Zanpakuto have defected.”
“We haven’t counted the Seated Officers yet, but I’m sure it’s not a small number.”
At this, Yamamoto Genryusai spoke slowly, his voice old and majestic, resounding in the meeting room.
“Captains, disperse and lead your men to patrol the Seireitei. After clearing suspicious areas, immediately conduct searches in Rukongai.”
“Third Seat Mayuri Kurotsuchi!”
“What’s your order Captain-Commander?” Mayuri grinned, his golden teeth gleaming under the lights.
As the Twelfth Division was currently unable to find a suitable acting Captain, all businesses were still handled by Mayuri. Especially after Hiyosu submitted his observation report about Mayuri, his Captain haori was already being tailored.
“Activate the Reishi monitoring system of the Spiritual Wave Measurement Lab. If there are similar Reishi, immediately inform the Captains through the Denreishinki.”
Yamamoto Genryusai chose the most conservative method to deal with the impending crisis.
As a communication tool essential for Soul Reaper to go to the Human World, the Denreishinki were usually used to monitor the movements of Hollows, and could also be used for long-distance communication with Soul Reaper in other cities in the Human World.
However, the downside was also obvious. Once there was a significant fluctuation in one’s own Reishi or the Reishi of the surrounding environment, it would affect the effectiveness of communication.
In areas with low Reishi density like the Human World, the Denreishinki worked perfectly.
But in regions like the Soul Society with high Reishi density, the function of the Denreishinki was somewhat useless.
However, the limitations of Tenteikura were even greater, and ordinary Soul Reaper could not use it at all. Therefore, Hell Butterflies were usually used for communication.
In necessary situations, the Onmitsukid?’s Inner Court Troop would also be deployed.
As the messenger unit, the Inner Court Troop squad consisted of Soul Reapers skilled in Shunpo were capable of delivering orders accurately and flawlessly to their targets.
Mayuri raised her finger and tapped her temple forcefully, making a banging sound.
“The surveillance capabilities of the Spiritual Wave Measurement Lab are limited, Captain-Commander. If the Zanpakuto deliberately concealed their Reiatsu, the equipment won’t be able to detect them.”
Yamamoto Genryusai responded solemnly, “That’s alright. This is just a backup plan.”
“We’ll mainly rely on the patrols and inspections of the Division members, as well as the Captains’ Reiatsu observation.”
The Captains fell silent, exchanging glances.
From the looks of it, Ky?raku Shunsui and Ukitake Jushiro communicated the most through their gazes.
One could say they were truly good brothers.
“Leading patrols…” Suddenly, Tokikaze remembered that he had left the Ninth Division members to Ikkaku Madarame for training some time ago, and he wasn’t sure how the training had turned out.
“No time to waste, let’s depart immediately!”
Yamamoto Genryusai’s eyes widened. His fury was evident as he issued the final command, “Find the culprits responsible disturbing the stability of the Soul Society, whether dead or alive!”
The Captains dispersed, leaving the meeting room.
“Oh, Captain, over here!”
Matsumoto Rangiku had been waiting outside for a while. Without her Zanpakuto, she felt quite insecure now.
Only by Tokikaze’s side could she feel a little relieved.
“Have you discussed a countermeasure?” Matsumoto Rangiku blinked her big eyes. “I can’t sense Haineko’s Reiatsu at all.”
“No, there’s only the dumbest plan: lead the Division Members on patrol and search the Seireitei first.”
Tokikaze sighed. “After all, the enemy is hidden while we’re in plain sight, and we don’t even know their motives or where they could be hiding.”
Hearing this, Matsumoto Rangiku crossed her arms and grumbled discontentedly, “That’s really frustrating!”
“Things are going to get busy from now on, aren’t they?”
Just then, Soi-Fon walked by. The corner of her eye caught Matsumoto Rangiku, and a hint of envy flashed deep within her eyes.
She lowered her head to look at herself. Heh, really flat.
Although she had seen Matsumoto Rangiku more than once, every time they met, she couldn’t help but feel instinctively bitter.
It was too pitiful.
With that in mind, Soi-Fon quickened her pace, determined to be the first to find the traitorous Suzumebachi.
This kind of bitterness shouldn’t be borne by one person alone.
Watching her disappearing figure, Tokikaze felt somewhat strange, as if he had seen a visible resentment emanating from Soi-Fon just now.
The defection of her Zanpakuto reminded her of the same departure of Shih?in Yoruichi…
