Bleach Seireitei's Discipline Captain - Chapter 144
An endless cloud of dust exploded, and the earth groaned under immense strain as the battlefield spanning several kilometers crumbled layer by layer.
Golden and blue-purple lights clashed and collided, but ultimately, the former could not rival the latter and was entirely devoured and buried, leaving no trace.
Everything around appeared as if plowed by an endless thunderstorm, with scorched soil emanating intense heat. Red-hot streams resembling molten lava flowed through the cracks.
The aftermath rippled outwards, spreading far and wide. The abandoned buildings were reduced to dust, with not a single intact stone left.
As the dust settled, the heavy clouds overhead remained, pressing down with an oppressive weight, like mountains upon the heart.
On the ground lay a charred body, indistinguishable between head and foot, fused with the earth.
Unlike Byakuya Kuchiki’s near-instant defeat, even in this dire state, Kenpachi Zaraki had not lost consciousness. His right hand tightly gripped the serrated blade, and his fierce eyes remained locked on Tokikaze.
“It’s not over yet, Tokikaze!” he growled.
With a body like charcoal, he somehow summoned another burst of spiritual pressure and channeled it into his Zanpakuto.
Instinctively, Kenpachi Zaraki grasped his blade with both hands, integrating the dual-handed swordsmanship he had just learned and furiously slashed forward.
Golden spiritual pressure formed a screen-like blade beam, crashing down amidst the explosive thunder.
Tokikaze’s response was faster. As the serrated blade descended, his stance was already set, and his attack launched.
Sword Art: Brushing Slash!
Infused with Fullbring’s power, the ultimate swordsman channeled nearly all his spiritual pressure. The roar of thunder was deafening. Electric arcs danced along the blade, flowing like liquid lightning.
Tokikaze’s eyes remained steady as he moved forward.
The clash of blades and the ensuing explosion of sound generated a massive wave of force, spreading outwards in layers.
The ground caved into a tens of meters deep crater, and soil erupted into the sky, linking heaven and earth.
Gale-force winds swept across, destroying everything in sight. Trees were uprooted, turning to dust in the scorched earth, and the two fighters were shrouded in swirling debris.
At the epicenter, Tokikaze’s arms emitted immense power. He combined his spiritual pressure with the Brushing Slash, pressing down with blue-purple light that pierced through the dust!
Crack!
With a sharp snap, the serrated blade broke, its half falling through the air.
The blue-purple blade beam surged forth, striking the charred body once more.
The wound extended from his right shoulder to his left lower abdomen, the blackened flesh peeling back, revealing no blood as if Kenpachi Zaraki had bled dry from earlier wounds.
Two ghastly cross-shaped gashes marred his chest, terrifyingly deep.
Thud—
Kenpachi Zaraki staggered, his narrow eyes fixed on Tokikaze, filled with a rare joy. He grinned, showing his white teeth.
“Tokikaze… you…”
“Win…”
With those words, his gaunt, towering body fell, sinking into the scorched earth.
Tokikaze sheathed his sword, exhaling slowly.
Kenpachi Zaraki was truly like an anime protagonist, unleashing a burst of power whenever he faced a stronger opponent.
Throughout the battle, his spiritual pressure had risen multiple times, seemingly limitless.
Unfortunately, his rate of unsealing couldn’t keep pace with Tokikaze’s explosive power.
Going all out, Tokikaze countered with Fullbring-empowered attacks, nearly cleaving Kenpachi Zaraki’s body into pieces.
As he gazed at the charred body on the ground, Yachiru Kusajishi suddenly appeared from some corner, hopping to Kenpachi’s side and poking his head.
Realizing he was still alive, she smiled brightly and bowed deeply to Tokikaze.
“Thank you so much!”
“Kenny hasn’t been this happy in a long time.”
“If it weren’t for you, he’d be sulking for ages.”
Tokikaze grinned, a dangerous aura around him.
“You’re thanking me too soon.”
“I mentioned before the battle began…”
He leaned down, placing a hand on Yachiru’s head and ruffling her hair.
“The loser must pay the price!”
Yachiru looked puzzled as if things weren’t going as she had expected.
Tokikaze released her head, looking eastward.
Several powerful spiritual pressures were approaching.
Because the battle hadn’t lasted long, the captains hadn’t arrived immediately.
The first to reach the battlefield was Unohana Retsu, Captain of the Fourth Division.
Seeing the battle had ended, her gentle face showed disappointment.
“Still a step too late. Such a pity…”
Unable to witness the fight, Unohana felt deeply regretful. She turned to her duties, using her advanced healing skills to treat the charred body on the ground.
“Such severe injuries…” Her eyes filled with regret. “The battle must have been fierce.”
Realizing she missed a grand spectacle, Unohana began seeking ways to make up for it.
Until her gaze fell on Tokikaze.
His hair was dusted with dirt and bloodstains, like blooming flowers.
Unlike the near-dead Kenpachi, Tokikaze was only slightly drained of spiritual pressure. Multiple high-energy attacks and Fullbring use had nearly exhausted him.
Fortunately, his high affinity for spiritual particles allowed him to recover nearly half of his energy quickly.
Aside from minor hand injuries, he was almost unscathed.
It was a true speedrun victory against Kenpachi Zaraki.
Realizing this, Unohana’s mind raced with thoughts.
Compared to before, Tokikaze seemed much stronger.
Perhaps the Fourth Division’s dojo was no longer suitable for their swordsmanship practice.
Next time, they could choose a remote part of Rukongai.
They could switch to using real Zanpakuto…
Thinking of some thrilling, dangerous scenes, a blush spread across Unohana’s cheeks, and her breathing quickened.
Tokikaze, unable to understand Unohana’s thoughts, stared at her in confusion, unable to grasp her state.
