Bleach Seireitei's Discipline Captain - Chapter 145
The captains arrived one by one.
Aside from the Captain-Commander Yamamoto Genryusai, who was brewing tea in the First Division, everyone who could make it showed up.
Everyone expressed their understanding of the private fight between the two captains. With a madman like Kenpachi Zaraki, he could fight anyone at any time. They were already used to it.
After a brief treatment, Yachiru Kusajishi carried Kenpachi Zaraki on her shoulder. The size difference between them was stark and looked quite bizarre. Aizen, always the good guy, offered to help, but Yachiru refused, saying she was already used to it.
At the First Division, in the captain’s meeting room.
Captain-Commander Yamamoto Genryusai strongly condemned the private fight between Kenpachi Zaraki and Tokikaze. With his elderly body, he yelled during the meeting, raising the temperature significantly with his fiery anger and making many captains sweat profusely.
Of course, related punishments were issued. Since Tokikaze acted in self-defense, he was deemed the victim and exempt from punishment. Kenpachi Zaraki, however, was to be judged by the Central 46 Chambers. Until then, he would be temporarily detained in the Fourth Division’s Comprehensive Relief Center.
Half an hour later.
The captain’s meeting ended, and the captains left one by one, yawning and heading home. Only Kenpachi Zaraki was unlucky; the others didn’t feel it was their business to be concerned.
As for Koiwa Mountain, which was used as the battleground, due to Tokikaze’s choice of location, there were no casualties. Only a few unfortunates were knocked unconscious by the spiritual pressure waves. The situation seemed more serious than it actually was.
On the way to the underground council hall.
Two figures, one tall and one short, walked side by side.
As the strongest Shinigami in the Soul Society, Yamamoto Genryusai was well-rounded in Zanjutsu, Hakuda, Hoho, and Kido. There were no weaknesses in his strength. His only shortcoming was his height. However, he did not care about it. After all, no matter how tall you are, can you withstand a blast from his Ryujin Jakka?
“I don’t understand why you want to come along,” Yamamoto Genryusai said in a low voice, his steps steady and precise.
“Isn’t it obvious?” Tokikaze spread his hands, speaking matter-of-factly. “Naturally, I want the Central 46 to deliver a fair judgment.”
“Just because of my status, we can’t disregard Soul Society’s laws and impose a severe sentence on Captain Kenpachi.”
Although he said that, Yamamoto Genryusai could clearly hear the opposite meaning. Even with his stable mindset, he fell into silence.
The Central 46 was fortunate to have a subordinate like Tokikaze. Even the centuries-old noble Kuchiki family, despite always following the laws, had its dark history. Conversely, the Kamenyoshi family’s branch member Kamenyoshi Tokiko avoided judgment thanks to noble privileges.
Without Kyoraku Shunsui’s report, he wouldn’t have faced even a family house arrest. The Kamenyoshi and Kuchiki families were complete opposites.
Now, with Tokikaze about to inherit the head position of the Kamenyoshi family, he was someone who constantly skirted the edge of Soul Society’s laws. Yamamoto Genryusai’s feelings towards the Ninth Division’s captain were extremely complex. Hopefully, this visit to the underground council hall won’t stir up too much trouble.
In the underground council hall.
Behind the panel, the six judges and forty sages looked down with grim expressions.
They were already aware of what had happened. Judgment had to be passed. While Kenpachi Zaraki’s strength was undeniable and useful on the battlefield, his actions of ignoring Soul Society’s laws and fighting other captains recklessly could not go unpunished. Otherwise, the Seireitei would soon be in chaos.
However, Tokikaze’s appearance made them uncomfortable. Although he had a legitimate reason to be there as the victim, showing up without a summons from Central 46 was somewhat disrespectful. Normally, they would reprimand anyone else harshly, but not Tokikaze, who was about to become the head of the Kamenyoshi family.
The Central 46 had no authority to judge him, even if he committed serious crimes. Hearing this, Yamamoto Genryusai couldn’t help but glance at Tokikaze. Considering his actions against nobles and other officers, he attributed it to a sense of responsibility from the Ninth Division’s captain.
Though this form of justice was rare in the current Soul Society, sending someone to the Eighth Underground Prison, Muken, seemed excessive.
After exchanging glances, Central 46 decided to avoid trouble and reissued the sentence for Kenpachi Zaraki.
“Current Eleventh Division Captain Kenpachi Zaraki, for attacking a fellow captain and a noble, is to be temporarily detained in the Eighth Underground Prison, Muken!”
