Bleach Seireitei's Discipline Captain - Chapter 146
The captains had mixed opinions about Kenpachi Zaraki being imprisoned in Muken.
“It’s good to lock him up for a while, it’ll save us a lot of trouble,” said Soi Fon, the Second Division captain and Commander of the Executive Militia.
Kenpachi Zaraki frequently caused problems, and the Second Division often had to clean up his mess, so Soi Fon had a particularly negative view of him.
In contrast, Kyoraku Shunsui of the Eighth Division had a different perspective. “The Eleventh Division is our frontline combat unit, a ferocious force in battle. If war breaks out, we’re losing a major asset.”
“No problem, Tokikaze-kun will fill in,” Unohana Retsu of the Fourth Division responded gently, unconcerned with others’ opinions. Perhaps due to her romantic feelings, Unohana seemed to find new joy in her swordsmanship exchanges as Tokikaze’s strength increased.
“Isn’t imprisonment in Muken a bit excessive?” Aizen Sosuke, always focusing on key points, voiced his concern.
Tokikaze didn’t care much about the opinions of the others. He only knew that with Kenpachi Zaraki sentenced to Muken, his strength had further increased.
?Daily Discipline Task Completed!?
?Hado Comprehension Improved, Mastered Hado #90: Kurohitsugi!?
?Hakuda Comprehension Improved, Mastered Hakuda Technique: Shinten (Life Return), currently at level ten!?
?Soul Strength Improved!?
A wealth of knowledge flooded his mind. For Shinigami, mastering Kido above level 90 was akin to an ultimate technique. Not many, even among lieutenants or captains, could do so.
Of course, a certain captain about to be imprisoned in Muken hadn’t even mastered Kido #1.
For Tokikaze, Hado #90: Kurohitsugi could now replace Raikoho (Thunder Roar Cannon) as his strongest Kido attack. Combining other binding and destructive spells, Tokikaze could transform into a formidable caster, unleashing relentless firepower on enemies.
The mere thought of such a scene was enough to make his blood boil.
As for the Hakuda technique Shinten (Life Return), although within his expectations, it was still a pleasant surprise. Shinten allowed for complete control over one’s body, changing form and attack methods to catch enemies off guard.
However, Tokikaze was more interested in using it to convert food intake into strength. To some extent, this resembled Kirio Hikifune’s “temporary souls.”
However, based on the knowledge Tokikaze gained, this technique differed significantly from the Life Return in the One Piece world. The specifics would require further development, but its potential was undoubtedly immense, possibly even greater than that of high-level Kido.
With the mastery of Shinten, Tokikaze’s Hakuda skill reached level ten, the highest in Soul Society. In terms of technique, he surpassed most captains, except for a few monsters.
Kenpachi Zaraki’s contribution was substantial, perhaps even surpassing others. The surge in power stirred Tokikaze’s thoughts.
If he could take down the first Kenpachi as well…
Tokikaze shook his head, dismissing the dangerous idea. He was still young and didn’t want to end up reporting to hell so soon.
As one of the last two captains of the original Gotei 13, Unohana Retsu undoubtedly had the strength of at least First Rank Reiatsu. With his current strength, a life-or-death battle with Unohana would likely end with him being reduced to a pile of bones.
Through Kenpachi Zaraki’s imprisonment, Tokikaze realized that the Ninth Division captain’s daily discipline tasks were not as limited as he thought. The Gotei 13, originally a group of assassins, could easily be called a band of villains.
Catching them all would surely result in some innocent being seen, but if he took down one after another, there would undoubtedly be some who escaped.
Perhaps it was just in his nature. Tokikaze shook his head, pushing these dangerous thoughts aside. There were many ways to grow stronger; there was no need to target his colleagues. Besides, the current Gotei 13 has improved much more than it did a thousand years ago.
In the following days, Tokikaze regularly traveled between the First, Fourth, and Ninth Divisions, forming a daily routine. He studied the essence of Genryu, exchanged insights on swordsmanship, and attempted to develop Shinten while self-studying Uraho (Inner Healing Arts): Ichino Do Meika Tensho.
The fastest progress was in Genryu and Uraho, thanks to his strong foundation in Zanjutsu, Hakuda, Hoho, and Kido. The advanced techniques were much easier to learn.
As a student who grasped concepts quickly, Yamamoto Genryusai was highly satisfied and often praised Tokikaze’s talent.
However, the swordsmanship exchanges were a different story. At Unohana’s request, they ventured to a secluded place in the North Rukongai for a battle.
Tokikaze had expected an evenly matched fight, but he severely underestimated Unohana’s terrifying strength.
As her braids unraveled, the original Kenpachi, the unprecedented villain in Soul Society’s history, emerged before Tokikaze.
Her gentle smile belied a sea of corpses and rivers of blood in her wake. The overwhelming aura of bloodshed was like the descent of hell itself.
Facing this form of Unohana, Tokikaze had to go all out, buffing himself to the limit and manipulating the weather to alter the battlefield. Despite this, he still questioned his life choices after being beaten.
Unohana’s black hair danced, surrounded by a dark, ominous aura, like a terrifying demon from the depths of hell. Her unrestrained spiritual pressure rendered the altered weather meaningless.
There were no flashy techniques, just a deep understanding of swordsmanship. Using only her spiritual pressure and Zanjutsu, Unohana won the exchange, though not without taking some hits.
Despite his severe defeat, Tokikaze gained something valuable.
After the battle, amidst the barren landscape, Unohana gently placed Tokikaze’s head on her lap and began healing him with her exceptional Kaido, her gentle voice whispering in his ear:
“Thank you so much, Tokikaze-kun.”
“I haven’t felt such pleasure in a long time…”
