Bleach Seireitei's Discipline Captain - Chapter 155
The Level One emergency order was issued.
None of the captains present seemed surprised. Based on Jich? Tsumuya’s ghostly abilities and his overwhelming power that had killed Kuruyashiki Kenpachi, a Level One order was the Gotei 13’s maximum response, but it was certainly not his limit.
This madman was even more dangerous than the rebels or even K?ga Kuchiki. Any slight misstep could bring permanent destruction to the Soul Society.
The captains quickly dispersed, a sense of urgency hanging on their faces. The Gotei 13 operated like a well-oiled machine, kicking into high gear as the Level One order was executed.
Tokikaze was kept behind by Yamamoto Genry?sai.
The captains who knew him cast helpless looks his way. From Jich?’s words, it was clear that to achieve his goal, he needed Tokikaze’s power.
Kanmiyadai Tokikaze had become the key player.
Soon, the room was empty, leaving only Yamamoto Genry?sai and Tokikaze.
“Captain Tokikaze, do you have any different thoughts on Jich? Tsumuya?” Yamamoto’s temper had calmed, and the temperature in the room gradually returned to normal.
“Not really,” Tokikaze replied casually. “He’s just a delusional madman.”
“While it may seem unwise to confine a captain during times like this,” Yamamoto lifted his gaze to Tokikaze, “for the sake of the Soul Society and the living world, I suggest you stay with the First Division for the time being. It’d be best if you lived near my quarters.”
Tokikaze sighed, already expecting this. “Confining a captain may not be a big deal, but what if you confine the head of the Kanmiyadai family?”
“At least for now, you’re not that,” Yamamoto said calmly.
“I will be soon.” Tokikaze stared at the stubborn old man before him and said thoughtfully, “I’ll just go back, kill Kanmiyadai Akitsuki, and take over as head of the family.”
He wasn’t joking.
Who knew how long Jich?’s plan would last? Would he have to stay with the First Division for as long as Jich? remained at large?
Besides, Uro Zazaniya’s abilities were far too bizarre. Tokikaze might not fear a direct fight, but if Jich? attacked from the shadows, it would be hard to defend.
Yamamoto fell silent.
Was it appropriate to casually mention killing the head of the Kanmiyadai family in front of him? And if Akitsuki did end up dead, how would he handle Tokikaze then? Could the Gotei 13 go after the head of the Kanmiyadai family?
Looking at his disciple, Yamamoto experienced a rare moment of frustration.
The kind that gave him a headache, quite literally.
“Oh, one more thing,” Tokikaze said as he was about to leave. “You remember Ayasegawa Yumichika, the Fifth Seat of the Eleventh Division, right?”
“His Zanpakut? isn’t Fuji Kujaku. Its true name is Ruri’iro Kujaku.”
“The real Shikai ability allows it to grow vines that absorb an opponent’s spiritual pressure.”
Yamamoto’s eyes flickered with confusion just as Tokikaze continued, “Strictly speaking, Ruri’iro Kujaku is one of Jich? Tsumuya’s weaknesses.”
Revealing Yumichika’s long-hidden secret didn’t make Tokikaze feel the slightest guilt. Like Ikkaku, Yumichika had always hidden his true strength under Kenpachi’s command, fearing that he’d be transferred out of the Eleventh Division or shunned by his peers.
But really, these were just fears they had conjured up themselves. Ikkaku’s Bankai strength wasn’t even enough to challenge Tokikaze in a duel, so there was no reason he’d be promoted to captain.
The same went for Yumichika.
Yamamoto lowered his gaze thoughtfully. “I understand now.”
“The one who should be staying near the First Division quarters is Ayasegawa Yumichika, Fifth Seat of the Eleventh Division…”
…
After some negotiation, Yamamoto agreed to let Tokikaze go. However, he gave him a task: bring Yumichika and his Zanpakut? to the First Division safely, where Yamamoto would personally protect him.
Yamamoto didn’t ask for details but chose to trust Tokikaze’s judgment.
“Where would Yumichika be?” Tokikaze mused. “The Eleventh Division, or maybe the Ninth Division…”
He rubbed his temples, trying to relax. “Jich? Tsumuya’s speed far surpasses any Shunpo.”
Though unsure if he could make it in time, Tokikaze rushed back to his division as fast as he could.
When he arrived at the training grounds, he let out a brief sigh of relief.
There was both good news and bad news.
The excellent news: Yumichika had come to visit Ikkaku, who was being put through his paces.
The bad news: Jich? Tsumuya was also there.
“You’re fast, Captain Tokikaze, truly living up to your genius reputation,” Jich? commented sarcastically. “It seems you’ve figured out what I’m here for.”
Facing the extremist madman, Tokikaze rested his left hand on the hilt of his sword. A light breeze suddenly swept across the training grounds.
“You know everything happening in Seireitei, but the Great Spirit Book Gallery forcefully records and archives all information in the Soul Society,” Tokikaze’s spiritual pressure surged as thick clouds gathered overhead.
“The ability of Uro Zazaniya is no secret to the Kanmiyadai family.”
Jich? nodded in understanding. “I see.”
“But since you’re here, I don’t have to go to the trouble of searching anymore.”
On the ground nearby, Yumichika and Ikkaku glared at Jich? from behind. They were half-submerged in a swirling vortex on the ground, their bodies partially trapped. Their shihakush? sleeves had torn away, and black snakes coiled around their upper bodies, binding them like restraints.
Despite Tokikaze’s arrival, the two remained trapped, and neither Tokikaze nor Jich? paid them any attention.
“Don’t bother resisting,” Jich? stood still, an immense pressure suddenly blanketing the training grounds.
“Surrender your power and help me eliminate all Hollows—that is your true destiny.”
Tokikaze could feel the spiritual particles around the Ninth Division shifting as though they had gained sentience, pressing down on him with an indescribable force.
It felt as though—
The entire world was hostile toward him.
