Bleach Seireitei's Discipline Captain - Chapter 161
A crescent moon hung high above the sky in the west. The desolate wasteland stretched endlessly, reaching the very edge of the world.
A few dead trees made of quartz stood solitary, adding a touch of colour to the otherwise monotonous expanse of fine sand.
Hueco Mundo.
A group of white figures suddenly appeared on the horizon under the moonlight. Their steps were heavy, and their movements sluggish.
The dense concentration of reishi in Hueco Mundo made it difficult for these Quincy, who had long resided in the human world, to adapt.
Fortunately, this state didn’t last long. As their spiritual pressures rose, the environment of Hueco Mundo became more bearable.
As unique beings among humans, Quincy was born with high spiritual power, and their souls held immense potential.
This high-density reishi environment in Hueco Mundo was more suitable for them to live in.
“Phew, let’s settle here!” the leader, a vibrant orange-haired girl, cheered, stopping her progress.
“Miss Maki, may I ask something?”
One person raised their hand among the group. “How will the Soul Reaper you mentioned locate us, and how strong is the enemy?”
“Even though we’ve come with the resolve to die, we don’t want to die without understanding why.”
Before Maki could respond, Ury? Ishida spoke up. “The communication device we used to contact the Soul Society has a tracking feature. Mr. Tokikaze will descend using me and Miss Maki as coordinates.”
“As for the enemy’s strength…”
He paused momentarily, recalling that the Soul Reaper named Kazumi didn’t provide much detail, only mentioning Tsukishiro S?ya’s abilities.
From the brief description, it was easy to tell that Quincy’s ability to manipulate reishi in the atmosphere was indeed the enemy’s nemesis.
However, the fact that Mr. Tokikaze requested help from Quincy indicated that the enemy’s strength might have surpassed his expectations.
It even suggested that the Soul Reapers alone might not be enough to kill the opponent.
At this thought, Ury?’s face couldn’t help but show concern.
Could such a powerful enemy be something Quincy could stand against?
Or had the Soul Society decided they could no longer tolerate the Quincy of the living world and planned to wipe them out in one fell swoop?
A sense of despair began to rise in Ury?’s heart.
A few geniuses couldn’t bridge the vast gap between Quincy and Soul Reapers.
After all, even geniuses needed time to grow.
“Well, don’t overthink it,” Kurosaki Maki comforted. “Since we’re here, we may as well make the best of it. Anyway, we’ve already been marked by the Kaname family, so we’ll have to trust Mr. Tokikaze!”
Ury? glanced at the energetic girl running through the desert and sighed helplessly.
“That’s the situation. Everyone, start your preparations.”
“Before Mr. Tokikaze arrives, we need to have the battle formation ready.”
Due to being assimilated into human society and becoming hybrids, Quincy’s strength in the living world has weakened to varying degrees.
To ensure their safety, they developed specific battle formations.
These formations included techniques like Holy Devour, Green Cup, Five-Fold Bind, and Break Mang Array, which required items like silver tubes and soul-piercing objects for support.
The Quincy who came to Hueco Mundo were mostly elites among hybrids, with only Ury? Ishida and Kurosaki Maki being pure-blooded.
While they might struggle in captain-level battles, setting up a battle formation was okay.
Dozens of silver tubes were arranged over an area of several miles, hidden within the abundant reishi, each imbued with the Quincy’s controlling power.
The soul-piercing objects inscribed the Quincy formation in the desert, and a giant five-pointed star glowed faintly for a moment before disappearing.
The power wasn’t the main focus; secrecy was.
Once everything was ready, a pitch-black rift tore open the sky with brute force. The jagged edges resembled the gaping maw of a beast devouring the stars above.
A figure surrounded by the wind slowly descended from the black cavity, walking toward the gathered Quincy.
Tokikaze raised an eyebrow and ordered in an unquestionable tone, “Everyone except Ury? Ishida and Kurosaki Maki, leave this area.”
“With your strength, you won’t even be able to withstand Tsukishiro S?ya’s spiritual pressure.”
The Quincies’ faces lit up. Initially, they feared they’d be dragged into the battle, but their task seemed merely to set up the formation.
Though they were resolved to die, who wouldn’t prefer to live?
Soon, only three figures remained, while the others disappeared over the horizon.
At this moment, their Hirenkyaku speed was unleashed to the fullest.
They were as swift as wind and thunder!
Above them, the black cavity remained open, and its pressure grew more robust, eventually covering all the stars in sight.
The white captain’s haori fluttered down. Once a noble, Tsukishiro S?ya remained as simple as ever, without any adornments of nobility.
His expression was cold and indifferent, as if wearing an impenetrable mask.
“Quincy…”
Noticing Ury? and Maki, Tsukishiro nodded slightly, acknowledging them.
“Now, that’s the right reaction. Even those with great cause cannot easily face death calmly.”
“You look far more genuine than your previous false appearance.”
There was a hint of praise in Tsukishiro’s tone.
Tokikaze remained silent.
Has he yet to move past that?
In Tsukishiro’s mind, it seems I’ve reached a level where even underhanded tricks can’t tarnish my image.
Facing such an individual, Tokikaze felt a strange pang of guilt…
Not really.
The guy was planning to kill me anyway. Not acting now would be truly foolish.
“What intense pressure.” Ury? instinctively tightened his grip on his reishi short bow, his gaze locked on the white figure before him. “This must be the Tsukishiro S?ya Kazumi spoke of.”
Compared to the Hollows he’d faced before, this opponent was on a whole different level.
Even without actively releasing his spiritual pressure, Tsukishiro exuded an overwhelming sense of oppression.
Against such an entity, Ury? found it hard to muster any desire to fight.
Meanwhile, Maki stood resolute, her orange hair billowing as her determined expression remained steadfast. The tangible reishi around her swirled, signalling her readiness for battle.
Having once faced Balk without being outmatched, she was indeed the Quincy prodigy.
And as far as Ury? knew, Maki’s strength had significantly improved since her battle with Balk — a qualitative leap.
This thought made Ury? feel a bit envious.
After all, wasn’t he the one who inherited the Quincy Cross?
