Bloodline Limit - Chapter 444
“Orochimaru-sama, the reincarnation date has finally arrived.” In a base far away, Kabuto respectfully addressed Orochimaru.
“Is that so, Kabuto? You remember it even better than I do. But I’ve been waiting for this day for too long. Once I obtain Sasuke’s body to compensate for my shortcomings and research the technique to repair my damaged soul after resurrection, then it won’t matter if I have the Mangekyo Sharingan or not. As long as I acquire Ryoha’s body, it will be enough,” Orochimaru said with a sinister smile, extending his tongue to lick his lips.
At this moment, he was in excellent health. He hadn’t suffered the injuries from the Dead Demon Consuming Seal like in the original story, hadn’t been reincarnated for more than three years ago, and hadn’t become weaker due to the battle with Naruto. He was formidable now.
He was always confident about taking over Sasuke’s body. His current plan was not just about acquiring Sasuke’s body but also minimizing the damage to his soul caused by the resurrection.
“Zzzt!”
A burst of Chidori’s cry echoed, and a thunderous light pierced through the door, heading for Orochimaru. However, Orochimaru, in his healthy state, easily dodged it. Unlike before, when he was weak and lying in bed, now he could evade even Kakashi’s Raikiri. How could he not dodge Sasuke’s Chidori?
“It seems you are more impatient than I expected, Sasuke,” Orochimaru said, looking at the invading Uchiha Sasuke with a cold smirk.
“You can no longer make me stronger, so it’s time to end all of this. I never understood your pursuit of so-called goals,” Sasuke said arrogantly, looking at Orochimaru with indifference.
“Kabuto, you should leave now,” Orochimaru said nonchalantly, as he considered Sasuke quite remarkable. Whether it was talent or the inherited bloodline, Sasuke excelled in every aspect. But Orochimaru still believed he could control him.
“Yes, Orochimaru-sama,” Kabuto bowed and then exited the room. However, before leaving, a strange smile appeared on his lips.
“Do you not understand? It doesn’t matter, because you won’t need to understand anything from now on. Give me your body,” Orochimaru said. Due to his lack of weakness and any damage from the Dead Demon Consuming Seal, he had no need to transform into the White Snake. What he wanted to do was either subdue Sasuke or drain his energy. This way, when he used the resurrection technique, his soul would suffer less damage. The old Orochimaru wouldn’t have cared about this.
At the beginning, during the first few resurrections, his powerful spiritual energy and soul as a Kage-level ninja did not detect any abnormalities. However, later on, things started to feel more and more wrong. But this was a one-way path. Once started, he had to go through with it unless he found a way to compensate; otherwise, there would be no solution.
“Hidden Shadow Snake Hands!” Orochimaru stretched out both hands, releasing a large number of venomous snakes. However, Sasuke easily cut them all with his drawn katana. Nonetheless, Orochimaru took advantage of the opportunity to get behind Sasuke and attempted to immobilize him with his elongated head and sharp snake fangs.
“Lightning Release – Chidori Nagashi!” Sasuke remained calm. He had followed Orochimaru for over three years, learning a vast amount of ninjutsu and continuously improving his own strength. During this time, he had memorized many flaws, weaknesses, and fighting styles of Orochimaru, making him well-versed in their battles.
However, despite the lack of weakness, Orochimaru’s unyielding presence still made Sasuke feel immense pressure. Yet, he wasn’t afraid, as he understood Orochimaru too well. Unless Orochimaru refrained from using the resurrection technique on himself, Sasuke would undoubtedly defeat him, especially with his damaged soul that hadn’t been sealed by the Dead Demon. Orochimaru had to resort to reincarnation, and that presented the perfect opportunity for Uchiha Sasuke to strike back.
“Bzzt!”
Orochimaru, who was struck by lightning, immediately became paralyzed. Sasuke directly entered his Cursed Mark Level 2 state. Even when facing the weak Orochimaru from the original story, he still had to resort to Cursed Mark Level 2, not to mention the current Orochimaru.
“Lightning Release – Chidori Katana!” Uchiha Sasuke’s Kusanagi sword transformed into a blade covered in Chidori. After entering Cursed Mark Level 2, his overall combat abilities improved significantly. With the unique suppressing power of the Sharingan on the Cursed Seal of Heaven, it was the most effective way to unleash its strength. It was similar to how Kimimaro was affected by the Cursed Seal of Earth, enhancing its power beyond the original Cursed Seal of Earth.
“I don’t want to waste too much time,” Orochimaru grumbled and spat out an elongated Kusanagi sword, much longer and sharper than Sasuke’s. Moreover, it had more functionalities, capable of extending like a bullet for hundreds of meters.
“Clang! Clang!”
Facing the thrusting Kusanagi sword, Sasuke had to dodge and fly back while also using his Chidori sword to block. Injecting Chidori into the Kusanagi sword allowed Sasuke to match the hardness and sharpness of Orochimaru’s blade, which lacked any infused chakra.
In this spacious room, a slightly piercing sound of clashing swords resounded as they clashed with their Kusanagi swords. However, Orochimaru’s expertise wasn’t in using swords for attack; the Kusanagi sword was merely one of his weapons.
“Crushing Snake Constriction!” Orochimaru suddenly changed tactics, summoning two giant snakes—one lunged at Uchiha Sasuke from mid-air, and the other emerged from the ground at his feet, swiftly entwining around Sasuke’s body. Sasuke could only watch helplessly as the approaching snake seemed to devour him. However, in the years he had followed Orochimaru, Sasuke had learned much, including many of Orochimaru’s jutsu. He knew Orochimaru very well and had long since devised a strategy for their battle, even simulating various scenarios. He had already seen through this move with his Sharingan.
“Chidori!” From Sasuke’s left hand, a small, chattering Chidori appeared, piercing through the approaching giant snake. Then, he used his right hand, holding the Chidori blade, to sever the snake that bound his legs. However, at that moment, Orochimaru was already close to him.
“Power of the White Snake!” This was the body Orochimaru was about to obtain, so he couldn’t use excessive force. This was also the perfect opportunity for him. Orochimaru transformed into the White Snake, immediately sending Sasuke flying. The Kusanagi sword thrust again, piercing through Sasuke’s left wing. Meanwhile, Orochimaru continuously spewed out a paralyzing and poisonous mist.
