Bloodline Limit - Chapter 467
“Could you tell me if you were the one with the light pillars that day?” A complex expression flashed in Mei’s eyes, and she didn’t answer Ryoha’s question.
“The black one is mine, and the golden-green one is Tsunade’s,” Ryoha didn’t conceal either and answered directly.
“Is that so? Have both of you already surpassed everyone else?” Mei also felt a bit desolate. She had lost to Tsunade last time, so she had worked even harder to train. She thought she had made significant progress and might be able to fight against Tsunade, only to find out that Tsunade had become even stronger.
“Oh, by the way, let me see what your ability is. Jiraiya mentioned that you might have integrated all your Bloodline Limits. I really want to see it! Lava Release – Melting Apparition!” Mei disregarded that they were in front of the Mizukage building and spewed out scorching lava towards Ryoha.
Ryoha stood quietly there, unmoving, watching the incoming lava. He allowed the lava to engulf him, emitting a scorching heat, but Mei wasn’t at ease. Instead, she stared closely at Ryoha, knowing he was about to use his new ability.
Suddenly, a black light radiated from within the lava. A sense of darkness made Mei take a few steps back involuntarily. A terrifying aura of darkness, as if it could consume everything, including one’s soul, emanated from it. True to form, the tide of darkness engulfed the lava, and Ryoha emerged from the darkness, completely unscathed, without a trace of being touched by the lava. Even his clothes remained unchanged.
“What ability is this?” Mei didn’t make another move; she had just wanted to see Ryoha’s ability.
“It’s nothing but an annihilating, devouring darkness.” Honestly, Ryoha was also using this power for the first time. He wasn’t very familiar with this newly created ability of his. But during the recent battle, as soon as he thought of the Melting Apparition, a surge of dark light protected him, and the ultimate darkness submerged the lava.
He himself had become like the embodiment of darkness, a ruler of darkness. He merged with darkness, becoming one with it. Apart from Ryoha, no one could have walked out of that darkness. Yet, he emerged unscathed.
“Darkness? Just as the Hokage of Konoha said, boundless darkness?” Mei murmured to herself.
“Boundless darkness, is that how you’d describe me? Jiraiya actually knows about my ability?” Ryoha was a bit surprised. After all, he had only successfully integrated these abilities a few days ago. He hadn’t even had a chance to try them out, so how did Jiraiya know? And his description was so accurate, could it be…
The image of a large toad appeared in Ryoha’s mind. This person was none other than the Great Toad Sage, who seemed to possess the ability to foresee events. Ryoha hadn’t expected that his abilities could be foreseen. This made him quite interested in meeting this enigmatic Great Toad Sage who had never shown his true strength.
“I didn’t expect you to know about the Great Toad Sage’s existence. You’re quite mysterious,” Mei observed Ryoha’s expression, realizing that he had caught on to the source of her information.
“I actually know that the Five Great Nations seem to be uniting against me. So, I was curious to come and see.” With the significant movements of the Five Great Nations, Ryoha couldn’t possibly remain unaware. After spending some time in seclusion to train, he not only wanted to assess the situation but also to test his new abilities.
“What’s the name of this ability?” Mei asked curiously. Although the dark power had lasted only briefly, it had left her with a sense of being trapped in darkness, unable to escape.
“Dark Release, I suppose. To be honest, I quite like this ability. Although various Bloodline Limits exist, they are not exactly comprehensive. Even the Sharingan was developed only to the extent of the Mangekyou Sharingan. I’ve always believed that those weren’t the most suitable abilities for me. Only this Dark Release, born from the fusion of all my Bloodline Limits, seems to be the most suitable for me.”
“Actually, I’ve only developed Dark Release recently, so I haven’t fully explored its potential or understood its terrifying power. I’m not even sure about its exact capabilities.”
“However, I felt that during battles, it’s better to develop abilities on the fly based on the situation and one’s immediate needs, or to explore and discover them within the course of the battle. Take your attack just now as an example. Your attack helped me understand one of the abilities of my Dark Release: Dark Guard. I didn’t need to develop this ability myself since it’s inherently available inside the Dark Release.”
Ryoha had always believed that bloodline abilities born for combat were the most suitable for him. Thus, he saw the need to constantly refine his Dark Release during battles, to develop various attacking methods, abilities, his personal combat style, and tactics, all while adapting to the actual battle circumstances to invent various Dark Release techniques.
For Ryoha at this moment, he already possessed Dark Release. How to use it, how to apply it in battles, was simply a matter of thought. So, to him, developing and employing any technique related to Dark Release was just a matter of thought as well.
“Dark Guard?” Mei recalled how Ryoha had emerged unscathed from being engulfed by the lava moments ago. It was as if he were a deity of darkness notified by the shadows themselves. As long as darkness was present, this dark deity wouldn’t encounter any trouble. It seemed incredibly difficult to injure Ryoha in battle.
“Mei.” Ryoha seemed to recall something and suddenly spoke up, prompting Mei to look at him, indicating that he should say what he wanted.
“I remember that last time in the Kirigakure, you said you wanted to give me a ‘melting’ KISS, didn’t you?” Ryoha’s lips curled into a grin. Mei had always teased him about this in the past, and now it seemed like the perfect time for his “revenge.”
“Y-Yes, I did. What are you planning?” Mei suddenly felt a sense of unease. This was the first time she had such a feeling, and indeed, Ryoha vanished from his spot. She was about to make a move when a wave-like torrent of intense darkness suddenly bound her. Her cherry lips heated up, and she let out a series of “uh-uh” sounds, her eyes widening as if witnessing something incredibly improbable.
Because Ryoha had actually held her slender waist and planted a kiss on her small mouth. Mei was utterly dumbfounded; her mind went blank, leaving only one thought: “He stole my first kiss just like that!”
