Bloodline Limit - Chapter 543
“It’s really here!” The Toad Sage, completely devoid of his usual confusion and drowsiness, instead fixed his gaze on Ryoha, who was seated high on a throne resembling the Ice Crown.
“You stupid toad, why keep talking? Let’s just start fighting already.” Although he was boasting, the snake species’ instinctive sense of danger made it sense a strong threat from Ryoha, who emitted a dense aura. It reluctantly chose to team up with the toad it despised the most.
“Little White Snake, we’re in danger this time. Although many years have passed, we’ve grown much stronger than when we were sealed by the Sage of the Six Paths. Even if the Sage of the Six Paths were to return, he couldn’t seal us again. But this young man is much stronger than the Sage of the Six Paths from back then. Can’t you sense that extreme dark energy?” The Toad Sage said solemnly.
“No more talk, we’re here to fight. I’ve been sealed by that damned bastard, the Sage of the Six Paths, for so many years. I’m finally free.” the White Snake Sage didn’t waste any time. Without another word, it transformed into a cold light that shattered the air blocking its path. It moved like a shooting star, opening its terrifying, gaping maw to bite Ryoha.
“Always so impulsive. Watch my Fire Release: Great Fireball and Wind Release: Gale Palm!” the Toad Sage said. These two A-rank techniques conjured massive fireballs that could burn fiercely even on this icy terrain, rivaling Madara’s fireballs. In fact, after years of refinement, they were even more powerful than Madara’s fireballs.
When Ryoha raised both hands, a long-lost wave of immense power coursed through them. He hadn’t felt this kind of physical impact from fighting in a long time. Apart from Tsunade, no one else could deliver such a force. It seemed that this White Snake Sage, like Manda, was extremely skilled in physical combat, even though, as a the Great Sage, it should excel in ninjutsu.
As Ryoha pondered, he raised both hands and lifted the White Snake Sage into the path of the oncoming hurricane and massive fireballs. Astonishingly, the wind and fireballs defied expectations and steered around the White Snake Sage, avoiding a direct hit. Instead, they exploded, creating a burst of flames and white mist.
“We did it.” the Great Toad Sage said.
“Great Toad Sage, beware of Ryoha’s dark power. You can’t hurt him until you break through the Dark Guardian.” Jiraiya said in a brief pause.
“Heh, little Jiraiya, I was well-prepared before coming here. Don’t worry about me. Worry about yourself. The probing is over, Little White Snake, if we don’t go all out, we’ll be finished.” the Toad Sage chuckled at first, but soon, he put on a serious expression.
“Hmph, you don’t need to tell me. Thank goodness that slug didn’t come. Otherwise, we’d have been in trouble.” the White Snake Sage knew that the Slug clan was entirely different from the Snake, Toad, and Frog clans. The Slugs chose to align with their summoners and stand by their side.
“It seems this young man doesn’t want his opponent to be stolen away, so he deliberately kept her from coming. We old friends haven’t seen each other for a long time.” the Toad Sage said somewhat nostalgically. However, they were all unaware that Ryoha had taken multiple precautions. Even though there were fail-safes in place, such as the ability for Bulma and her companions to use the Hiraishin to summon them, Ryoha had taken extra precautions. He had Tsunade summon the Great Slug Sage. Currently, the Great Slug Sage resided in the Land of Snow’s royal palace. If anyone dared to stir up trouble, Ryoha and his allies wouldn’t need to do anything—the troublemakers would already be dealt with.
“You two don’t have time for a reunion right now. Dark Release: Dark Death Ball.” two spheres were fired from within the white mist, causing the very air, once touched by these spheres, to twist and produce distorted currents of air. The Dark Death Ball struck the Great Toad Sage and the White Snake Sage directly.
“Dammit, the darkness is so thick. If we get hit, even our bodies won’t hold up.” at a crucial moment, the White Snake Sage underwent metamorphosis, while the Great Toad Sage employed Toad Substitution Jutsu to dodge.
“Let’s go all out. Sage Mode, activate!” Don’t forget that Sage Mode wasn’t something only humans could learn. On the contrary, Jiraiya, Naruto, and the present-day Orochimaru, along with Tsunade, had all learned it from the White Snake Sage, Great Toad Sage, and Great Slug Sage, the real ancestors of Sage Mode.
After activating Sage Mode, there was no change in their appearance. However, their bodies were cloaked in chakra that ascended like flames, emanating different-colored chakra. It was clear that this was the most perfect version of Sage Mode for summons.
For humans using Sage Mode, the perfect version entailed no changes to their appearance, much like Tsunade’s usage. For summoned beasts, it meant shrouding their entire bodies in a perfect chakra cloak. Apart from the White Snake Sage and the Great Toad Sage, the revived Kage, including the Second Tsuchikage, Second Mizukage, Third Raikage, and Fourth Kazekage, also launched an attack on Ryoha.
As for the other revived individuals, such as those from the Akatsuki, they were joining forces with the Allied Ninja Forces to fight Tsunade and her companions. If the situation wasn’t so chaotic, the ninja from Iwagakure, Kumogakure, and Konohagakure would have realized that the ninja from Sunagakure and Kirigakure were just staying on the outskirts and not launching any real attacks on Tsunade and her companions.
Even when they attacked, it was merely a facade with a fierce appearance but no real offensive power. Those who knew the real reason behind their actions, like Tsunade and her companions, could easily send them flying and they would cleverly act as if they were dead or severely injured.
Unfortunately, due to the chaos of the large-scale battle, combined with the fact that the Kage were all engaged in intense combat, other ninja just seemed ready to give their lives to advance. Even if someone noticed, there was no time to mention it, and even if they did mention it, no one would hear amidst the overwhelming noise.
“Get away from me. Taste my Wood Release: Advent of a World of Trees!” On the other side, Madara began using his signature technique. First, he utilized the Wood Release inherited from Hashirama. Layer by layer, a forest of trees emerged, enveloping Tsunade. Then, one of Madara’s Wood Clone appeared within the forest of trees, as if it had manifested in the blink of an eye.
“Fire Release: Great Fire Annihilation!” With the speed and intensity of a javelin, a Fire Release jutsu lunged towards the forest and burst into flames within the icy landscape.
“Madara is truly deserving of his name, that old immortal. He may not surpass Tsunade and Ryoha, but he’s demonstrating enough strength to take on all five of us.” someone noted.
