Chapter 18: Able to Knock Down a Fierce Tiger with One Punch
Upon seeing the four beds in the dormitory, Chen Ye breathed a sigh of relief. He disliked bunk beds the most.
Later, after everyone chose their beds, they began to unpack and make their beds. The school provided each new student with a quilt, so all they had to do was spread it on the bed.
After finishing his chores, Chen Ye noticed that Zhao Zeng had just returned. “Zhao Ge, you’re back,” Lu Yong said with a smile.
“I saved a bed for you by the window.”
Zhao Zeng nodded slightly and expressed his gratitude. “Thanks, brother.”
“I just finished setting up; let me help you, Zhao Ge!”
Lu Yong offered his assistance, but it was evident that he wasn’t genuinely helpful; he just wanted to get on Zhao Zeng’s good side. After all, Zhao Zeng’s hero code was S3, making him an outstanding figure, second only to Tang Zichen.
Before Zhao Zeng could refuse, Lu Yong swiftly began assisting.
“Zhao Ge, I didn’t expect us to end up in the same dormitory. Please take care of us in the future.”
Zhao Zeng remained calm. “We’re all classmates; there’s no need for special care. Let’s help each other.”
The two chatted casually. Meanwhile, Qian Fugui, who had a rough night in the cafeteria, was still sulking.
After Chen Ye finished setting up his bed, he decided to go for a run on the playground. He hadn’t done his training for the day yet.
An hour and a half later, while in the midst of the final activity, a 10-kilometre run, Chen Ye suddenly felt an invisible energy surging through his body, enhancing his strength. He immediately stopped and checked his attribute panel:
– Name: Chen Ye
– Constitution: 67
– Spirit: 11
– Strength: 69
– Agility: 69
– Talent: Saitama’s Constitution
Seeing a five-point increase in each of the three attributes—Constitution, Strength, and Agility—Chen Ye couldn’t help but smile with satisfaction.
The feeling of getting stronger every day was intoxicating. Additionally, with his improved attributes, Chen Ye could now complete all four exercises of Saitama’s training regimen in just an hour and a half without breaking much of a sweat.
Feeling the power in his fists, Chen Ye believed he could now knock down a fierce tiger with a single punch.
Having completed today’s training, Chen Ye returned to the dormitory. He had previously attempted to repeat Saitama’s training twice a day to see if it would further increase his attributes, but the results were negative. Saitama’s training method seemed to be effective only once a day.
Back in the dormitory, Chen Ye noticed that his three roommates were gathered around a table, chatting and laughing. The table was adorned with some snacks and beer, and Chen Ye couldn’t help but wonder who had arranged this.
Seeing Chen Ye enter, Zhao Zeng greeted him, “Chen Ye, you’re back. Come and have a drink.”
Accepting the invitation, Chen Ye sat down next to Qian Fugui. Zhao Zeng personally opened a can of beer for Chen Ye and said, “Chen Ye, your father, Chairman Chen, is my idol. When I was a child, I watched videos of Chairman Chen saving the city. His heroic actions left a deep impression on me. I chose to align with S3 due to Chairman Chen’s influence. Thank you for your father’s impact on me, which led to where I am today.”
“Of course, I’m just a small figure now, not qualified to stand before Chairman Chen… but I’d like to express my gratitude to both Chairman Chen and his son. Here’s a toast to you!”
Chen Ye was perplexed. Seeing the small number of opened beer bottles on the table, he wondered if these guys had already drunk too much. Did they have such low alcohol tolerance?
Half an hour later, only Chen Ye remained sober. Looking at his drunken roommates, he reluctantly cleaned up the mess.
After disposing of the empty bottles and food waste, he helped each roommate onto their respective beds. Finally, Chen Ye went to take a shower and went to bed.
The next day, Chen Ye was the first to wake up. After waking up his roommates, they all washed up and headed to class together. Surprisingly, their relationships had improved after the previous night’s drinking session.
Upon arriving at the classroom, everyone found their seats. At 8 a.m. sharp, the class bell rang, and Liu Laoshi entered with a laptop. He reminded everyone to turn off their phones because the content about the secret realm was strictly confidential.
Liu Laoshi then mentioned the history of secret realms, explaining that initially, the information was made public by the government.
However, a foreign country began hoarding the data, declaring it classified. This sparked a trend of keeping such information confidential, even though much of it had already been leaked.
Acknowledging that students at the University were different from ordinary students, Liu Laoshi initiated the process of selecting a class monitor.
However, no one volunteered, and Liu Laoshi appointed Tang Zichen as the class monitor due to her exceptional abilities and popularity.
Afterward, Liu Laoshi began the first class, projecting an image of an ugly monster on the blackboard.
As everyone focused on the creature, Chen Ye widened his eyes in astonishment. He recognized the monster—it was the same creature he encountered before!
