Daily Life in One Piece - Chapter 37
Mosen felt a bit melancholic after Shuzo knocked him away. It even made him think of those carefree runs under the sunset, a reminder of his lost youth.
The pain in his chest instinctively made Mosen use his Devil Fruit ability along with Kami-e. Upon landing, he realised that the impact had been significantly diminished.
Mosen’s eyes lit up, and he felt like he had discovered the right way to reduce Haki’s damage.
“Heh, Shuzo-sensei, your punches aren’t hard enough. This attack can’t be considered strong at all, yohoho.”
As expected, Shuzo’s face turned utterly black upon hearing Mosen’s taunt.
“Mosen, you’ve successfully angered me. Today, I’ll teach you how to respect your seniors!”
Mosen didn’t care about what he said. With his current Kenbunshoku Haki, he was practically on par with Shuzo. Moreover, Mosen was much more agile. As long as he protected his face, he had nothing to fear.
From now on, call me Ironhead Boy.
**Boom!!**
No more evasive manoeuvres. As long as Shuzo’s punches didn’t target his face or vital points, Mosen fully embraced the word “charge!”
You punch me, I slash you. If one slash doesn’t work, I’ll repeatedly cut the same spot. I don’t believe it won’t work eventually.
What started as an impressive fight quickly became a messy brawl thanks to Mosen, turning into a scene of two chickens pecking at each other.
Before long, Mosen’s shirt was completely shredded. Shuzo’s shirt, although not torn, was cut into strips by Mosen’s sword.
Mosen’s upper body was covered with bruises of varying sizes, but they appeared and disappeared quickly.
Shuzo’s upper body also began to bleed in several areas, indicating that Mosen had broken through his Tekkai and Haki defence in some places.
The battle, which started in the afternoon, lasted until nightfall.
After the fight, Mosen lay on the ground, completely unable to move, while Shuzo sat there, looking less exhausted.
It’s important to note that although Shuzo didn’t have the combat power of a Marine Headquarters Vice Admiral, he was more substantial than most Rear Admirals and reached the level of a Vice Admiral.
Yet, shocking many people, the nearly sixteen-year-old Mosen could fight him for so long.
—
Marineford Recruit Camp Cafeteria.
The previously noisy chatter instantly fell silent when Mosen and Shuzo entered the cafeteria.
Everyone stared at the two, or rather, at Mosen.
Over the past three months, although Mosen sometimes trained with them, he had little interaction with anyone except the six people from Room 208.
They hadn’t seen Mosen fight again since the first time he got a beating from Zeff-sensei.
Today’s display had left everyone stunned. As expected, someone said to rival the Admirals would indeed become one of the Marine’s most potent forces in the future.
Mosen, basking in the admiring gazes, strolled to prolong the moment. He hadn’t even bothered to retrieve a new shirt.
“You don’t have to admire me so much. I know my handsomeness is undeniable, but staring at me won’t make you as handsome as I am, yohoho!”
After some time, his injuries had begun to heal, thanks to the defensive qualities of the Slip-Slip Fruit.
The recruits of the camp had never seen such a vivid character.
At the corner of the cafeteria, the six members of Room 208 sat quietly, trying to keep a low profile.
Having lived with Mosen for three months, they felt these antics were minor. Given a chance, they would never have driven away their previous roommate.
It’s all tears if you talk too much!
Shuzo had long vanished, dragged to the cafeteria by Mosen despite his reluctance to show up wearing tattered clothes.
The prestigious deputy instructor of the recruit camp deserved more dignity!
Though the students wouldn’t notice his embarrassment in the dark.
Mosen, having mocked everyone, felt rejuvenated.
After devouring his three-portion meal, he walked over to the table in Room 208. Did they think lowering their heads would hide them?
Do they not know about my sharp eyes?
“Mosen, over here! Let me help you with that. Careful not to spill. Leave it to me.”
Of course, it was the top bootlicker of Room 208, Roadbrage.
The tall Tais had no choice but to move over to make room for Mosen’s large portions.
“You guys are really disloyal. How could you not call me for such an important life event as eating?”
Mosen sat down and immediately tossed a piece of meat into his mouth without chewing.
The six others gave awkward but polite smiles, thinking about how violent the fight was. Who dared to interrupt them?
“Hey, Tais, has there been anything new at Marineford lately? I haven’t been out since I arrived. Once I master Rokushiki, we should go out for a stroll. Tais and Old War, remember to take me flying.”
Old War was Wallikroz, who had a sinister appearance. Mosen found his name too long and shortened it.
Without waiting for their response, Mosen quickly finished another portion. Despite seeing it several times, they still winced every time, feeling he might swallow the plate, too.
“Oh, new stuff? Vice Admiral Dalmatian seems to have returned from the New World. He should be here to teach swordsmanship in the next few days.”
This frowned, thinking that Mosen had already heard all the gossip from Marineford over the past three months.
Marine Headquarters mainly consisted of stationed Marines and some officers’ families. There wasn’t much new happening.
“Mosen, you and Wallikroz both use swords. You might find it interesting.”
Hearing that Vice Admiral Dalmatian would be coming, Mosen’s eyes brightened, and he quickly finished another portion of food.
With his mouth full, he mumbled, “I remember Vice Admiral Dalmatian is a master of the one-sword style. I could learn a lot from him. My swordsmanship hasn’t improved in a while.”
Wallikroz, sitting nearby, stared at Mosen with a resentful look that made Mosen’s scalp tingle.
A few months ago, Wallikroz challenged Mosen’s swordsmanship, only to be almost despaired by the fight.
If he could beat Mosen, he would have pinned him down and thrashed him.
What a shameless bastard.
