Daily Life in One Piece - Chapter 41
In the sunlight, Mosen stood with his arms crossed, **Kite** nestled in his embrace, gazing at the sky at a 45-degree angle, his eyes distant and contemplative.
On the ground, a dozen recruits lay groaning, some of them with their weapons scattered around.
This scene would give off a very masterly aura,
If,
Mosen’s clothes weren’t reduced to rags, exposing his chest and thighs.
Dalmatian’s eye twitched at the sight. He was starting to believe Shuzo’s words and understood Mosen’s character.
“Mosen, that…”
“So, Vice Admiral Dalmatian, are you impressed by my handsomeness? Was it satisfactory?”
“I was saying, your clothes…”
“Don’t worry about those details. Being good-looking is enough.”
“Damn it, I was saying there’s a tear on the right side of your pants, exposing your butt!” Dalmatian finally shouted at Mosen.
“Huh? Oh, crap! You guys are still looking?? Stop staring, you perverts!”
Mosen could no longer maintain his composure. Feeling the gazes focused on his exposed backside, he clutched the tear with one hand and used **Soru** repeatedly, disappearing in an instant.
“Hahaha…”
“Ugh… oof…”
“Damn it, that bastard!”
A dozen recruits lying on the ground forgot about their swollen faces for a moment, laughing through the pain.
For this selfish guy, embarrassment might be more painful than injuries.
……
……
After returning to his dorm and changing into a new outfit, Mosen saw that Vice Admiral Dalmatian had already started the training session.
The training involved paired sparring, with Dalmatians pointing out their flaws.
Coincidentally, because the number of recruits was odd, Valikroz was left practicing alone.
The moment Valikroz saw Mosen, he knew things were about to go wrong.
“Valikroz, you spar with Mosen!”
Sure enough, his premonition came true. Valikroz’s face turned black, looking ridiculous with his still-swollen lumps.
Mosen smiled maliciously, remembering how Valikroz had struck him earlier. He couldn’t let it go.
They had also agreed to practice the Six Powers together, but Valikroz had secretly advanced his Haki. This couldn’t be tolerated.
Just as Mosen was about to greet Valikroz warmly, Dalmatian added, “Mosen, you can’t use the Six Powers or your Devil Fruit ability!”
???
Vice Admiral Dalmatian, you must know each other, right?
No wonder you two shared those strange looks. Valikroz’s father is a Rear Admiral; unsurprisingly, you know each other well.
But conspiring right in front of me is too much.
Seeing Valikroz drawing his sword in silence, Mosen shot a resentful look at Dalmatian, nearly making him swoon.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not flirting with you; my orientation is perfectly normal!
“Valikroz, come on, don’t think mastering Haki makes you powerful. I’ll show you the true level of combining looks and strength.”
“Mosen, you’re not allowed to use Kenbunshoku Haki either. I want to see your pure swordsmanship,” Dalmatian added.
MMP!!
Do you believe I’ll cut your ponytail off and make you a bald monk?
Focusing back on Valikroz, Mosen decided to vent his frustration at him since he couldn’t handle Dalmatian yet.
“Valikroz, take this move ‘Bald Monk, I Remember You!’”
Mosen charged with a slash, aiming to give Valikroz a haircut resembling Dalmatian’s.
This was a skilled move.
Like his brother Winston, Valikroz was a cold outside, warm inside guy. But Winston was genuinely introverted, whereas Valikroz was secretly showy.
This was the gossip Thais had shared while they were in confinement.
Valikroz had improved significantly, but apart from his initial grasp of Haki, his gap with Mosen was still evident.
Mosen’s most vital aspects weren’t his Devil Fruit ability, the Six Powers, or even his underdeveloped Kenbunshoku Haki.
His true strength lay in his body and swordsmanship. Though his progress slowed after mastering cutting steel, he continued to improve steadily.
Cutting iron and finely forged steel were two different things, and Mosen’s gradual progress had been consistent. His daily training partners were usually more potent than him, so his growth wasn’t always apparent.
The intense pressure from his attacks almost suffocated Valikroz, revealing the true terror of a serious Mosen.
Whoosh!
Using **Soru**, Valikroz aimed for Mosen’s back, his favorite move.
*Clang…*
Mosen’s **Kite** appeared out of nowhere, blocking the attack.
Valikroz retreated swiftly after his failed strike.
A swipe of the blade just grazed Valikroz’s head, shearing off half his hairstyle (akin to Sanji’s), leaving silver-grey hair scattered on the ground.
“Too slow, Val!”
Valikroz’s face turned black. He was sure Mosen did it on purpose. The guy held grudges, all because Valikroz had struck him earlier, but did he have to shave off so much hair?
“Come again!”
Secretive types like Valikroz didn’t give up easily. Mosen didn’t need to fight him with full strength; it was an opportunity to refine his skills.
Maybe due to Mosen’s taunting, Valikroz’s blade now shimmered with a faint aura, significantly boosting his attack power.
Mosen’s eyes lit up, intrigued by the nascent Haki.
While Shuzo’s and Zephyr’s Haki were too advanced, this emerging Haki felt more tangible.
Mosen didn’t block; instead, he let Valikroz’s blade graze his arm.
He wanted to feel this nascent Haki firsthand. Anyway, it wouldn’t harm him. Despite his rigorous training, his latent Haki had remained dormant.
Valikroz panicked, trying to pull back, but it was too late.
The blade barely penetrated two centimeters before sliding off. The muscle tensed, and the wound barely bled.
“Haha, great, Val, keep going.”
Despite the injury, Mosen was unfazed. Strangely, he seemed to enjoy it. He used to fear pain immensely, but now he found some odd satisfaction in it.
Valikroz looked at Mosen with a complicated expression. He hadn’t expected this from Mosen.
Would he be safe back in the dorm?
Valikroz shuddered, shaking off the disturbing thoughts, and resumed his fight with Mosen.
