Downloading the Iron Thrones - Chapter 3
After a month of his arrival in the Eyrie. Artys has been practicing his control over his strength. With his increasing strength, the guards practicing with him were more surprised of their lord. How could this small body muster up so much strength while fighting?
Although Artys did not download any more physical contents, he was able to fully control the increased power within this month. Now he has started practicing archery and horse riding. With the intermediate skills, he has yet to consolidate the skills.
With more and more skills and knowledge, he felt it’s time to check the report from the Steward to improve the Vale with these newfound knowledge.
After a washing up, he walked toward the High Hall of the Eyrie. Sitting on the weir wood throne, he listened to the report from the Steward.
“How much do we have in our reserve Lord Royce?”
“My lord, we have increased the reserve to 1 million gold dragons, with yearly net income of one hundred and fifty thousand. We have been increasing our trade with the free cities to almost 1.5 million gold dragon’s worth.”
‘Wow, that’s a lot of reserve. But if even the House Arryn has this much wealth, how much wealthier are the House Tyrells and the House Lannister who presumably owns half of the crown debts.’
“You have done a wonderful job managing the Vale, Lord Royce. I don’t know what we will do without you here.”
“Thank you for your praise my lord.”
“So Lord Royce, what are the main products that we export?”
“Iron wares, Wools, mostly agricultural products my lord.”
“How many mines do we have?”
“We do have 2 medium scale with 1 large bronze mine.”
“And haven’t we got any silver or gold mines in these vast mountain ranges?”
“Oh I wish we had those my lord. But these metals can only found in certain parts of the world, mainly towards the west where the Lannister are. We have searched for many years but we did not find a trace of any of these precious metals.”
“Thank you for the report Lord Royce.”
“It is my duty.” Smiled Lord Nestor Royce.
After a small conversation, Artys returned to his room. As in this world, almost everything can be bought by wealth. You can buy weapons, ships and even army especially the larger mercenaries such as the Golden Company. You can also influence noble houses to your side with enough wealth and power which can be helpful in future. So he was thinking of new ways to increase the wealth as it will be required when the real battle comes and chaos descends upon this continent.

In the Eyrie, a handsome young man was sparring with 5 guards at once. In these three years, he practiced and was able to download advanced contents. So far, he has been able to download advanced sword fighting, horse riding and stamina. Now, he can fight multiple opponents easily and for a long time thanks to his advanced stamina.
With his increased power and knowledge, he was able to convince the people in the vale. He was also able to gain recognition among the people for his knowledge. He has been helping Nestor Royce in managing the territory while learning about the various aspects in the Vale territory.
A while later, a small boy as same age him came running towards him.
“Milord, the food is ready.”
“Okay. Ready my horse and inform the guards. I will ride to ForgeMount.”
“Yes, milord.”
After giving the order, he turned around to change his outfit. In a few minutes, the boy readied his horse. Artys rode the horse along with some of his guards toward the mountain range. Slowly, they approached a town big enough to accommodate thousands, surrounded a high wall. Although the town was not fully occupied and constructed, it was beginning to take shape.
There were some guards patrolling along the wall. Nearing a tall gate, they slowed down the horses. There was two guards stationed on the gate, seeing that it was Artys and his group, they hurriedly opened the gate.
This place was constructed by Artys in two and a half years. It was created solely for the purpose of forging weapons and iron tools for his plans. He hired the blacksmiths from the Vale, and gathered them in this town for forging and teaching. Access to this town was only available to him and the residence of this town and some merchants. There will be record of each entrance and exit kept by at the gate which is stored within the castle that is being constructed here.
Although there is high expenditure in constructing all these and the steward was against it, he wanted to be prepared for the chaos that will soon descend upon the world.
Entering the gate, there was a line of symmetrical houses along the pathway with some shops too. Although it was a smaller scale, there was everything necessary for daily consumption.
Artys and his group then slowly approached a big mountain where there was an entrance guarded by at least ten guards along the way. There was also a large building near the mountain with smoke coming out of it. It was a gathering of various blacksmiths who were called by Artys. Along with numerous apprentices, he was planning to increase the efficiency of forging. Or in other words a factory where fast manufacturing can be achieved.
Seeing Artys entering, the guards respectfully greeted him. After few minutes, they finally reached a huge space inside the mountain. There were some more tunnels here, with some guards guarding each tunnel.
These various tunnels leads to different rooms where various weapons and armors were stored. There were hundreds of them placed in this room. Enough form a small army. These were prepared for the later part of his plans.
Then, he returned to the Forging building. Entering the building, there was a large space where blacksmiths were hitting irons against the forge. While some apprentices were helping, some were observing and others were working on basic stuffs or other tools. Here, not only weapons and armors were forged, but other iron tools were also created. While only the armaments of better quality were stored, lower quality armaments and tools were sold to earn some income for the factory.
He came to check the work and motivate people here as it can be harsh some times while working in a hot environment. Although he has also designed the ventilation to ventilate the smoke and warm air, it still feels stuffy inside the building. And as he will be going for a long time, he wanted to make sure the work will be going smoothly.
After a while a rough man came towards him. His name was Alaric Smith. He was a supervisor and a blacksmith that Artys placed here for smooth operations and quality checks.
“Greetings milord. How can I be of service to you?”
“Please be at ease. I was just visiting to check the progress. It seems that apprentices are also learning at a fast pace.”
“Yes milord. With these many blacksmiths, there was bound to be results. And as per your requirements of specific forging. Soon there will be more blacksmiths here.”
“I sure do hope so. I have spent coins like water for this and I expect the results to be good.”
“Yes milord, thanks to your generosity, there have been more people trying to learn blacksmithing. But due to no vacant space, they were rejected.”
“Okay. Leave them. These numbers are enough for the current productions. I want them to be ready to forge within a year.”
“Yes milord.”
Artys wanted the apprentices to learn specific forgings, so they can specialize in them. This way the work can be divided and the efficiency will increase multiple folds.
After a small conversation about the factory. He returned to the Eyrie. When he arrived, it was already evening. He quickly took a bath and walked toward the hall for the dinner. There was already food served for him on the table. Finishing the meal, he returned to his room.
He was planning to sail across the narrow sea to Braavos. After the Braavos was established, many people with different skills and occupation flocked to this city. Thus, despite its smaller size, it has been able to grow to be one of the strongest if not strongest free city and the wealthiest.
He was trying to see if there are any exotic animals or things he can download. As he was now able to download advanced contents, he can download most of the contents from humans and animals.
He readied his stuff which consists of the sword, a dagger and a chainmail armor which he can wear inside his normal outfit.
Tomorrow he will ride for GullTown and sail to Braavos from there.

After few weeks, the ship neared the Braavos. Artys came out of his cabin. Seeing the “titan of Braavos” with lights coming out of his eyes functioning like a light house, he knew that he was reaching Braavos. Suddenly, there was a loud horn sound. Hearing this, Artys and his guards readied their stuff. This time, Artys only brought two guards with him. After passing the inspection in Chequy port, the ship sailed towards Purple Harbor.
This harbor is only used by its citizens, and as they got aboard the Braavosi ship, they were docking here. There were many purple ships in the harbor. Docking in the harbor, Artys and his guards got off the ship. He was still not comfortable in sea sailing and when he finally reached the port he hurriedly got off from the ship to touch the familiar land under his feet.
After finally reaching Braavos, the first thing they did was find a place to rest. After days of sailing, Artys was tired and wanted to rest and it was already evening when they came. After finding a decent inn, they booked two rooms, one for him and another for his guards. After a decent meal, they went to their respective rooms.
While in the room, Artys checked his current folder to see what contents he has.
Seeing his folder, he was proud of his achievement within these years. Although he couldn’t increase his physique and strength currently, he was satisfied considering his small body. He was also able to increase the archery and horse riding to the advanced skill. With his current download speed, it still takes him more than 10 minutes to download the advanced contents.
So, he has been trying really hard to increase his download speed. If there is anything new, he swiftly downloads it. Although with these vast knowledge, he cannot efficiently use all these knowledge including some miscellaneous knowledge that he may never use in his lifetime.
