- Chapter 89 - King Yemma: The Son of a God of Destruction?
It took Ren less than three seconds to find some records related to Muse.
Muse: Origin unknown, life unknown.
Ren: “???”
Why is his origin unknown and his life also unknown?
Is it because he came from Universe 3?
Ren posed this question to Merus.
“Yes, he’s from Universe 3, so this death ledger wouldn’t record his life story, only the cause of his death,” Merus nodded.
Ren then looked at Muse’s cause of death: Torn in half by the legendary Super Saiyan Broly.
“Indeed, it’s recorded in detail, torn in half by the legendary Super Saiyan Broly,” Ren remarked.
“Thanks for the praise,” Broly scratched his head, embarrassed.
Merus gave Broly a sideways glance.
How can you accept that as a compliment?
If you hadn’t caused such trouble, would I need to clean up after you?
“Let’s change it to ‘unknown,'” Ren said, moving his fingers to change Muse’s cause of death to “unknown.”
Merus: “…”
Isn’t this alteration too arbitrary?
“Let King Yemma ponder over it,” Ren chuckled.
Merus thought seriously for a moment and decided that Ren’s change was acceptable.
Fine, let’s go with this.
As long as Lord Mosco can’t investigate, it’s fine.
And, given the God of Destruction’s capabilities, it’s impossible to investigate it anyway.
“Who is shouting in the line?” King Yemma had already heard Muse shouting at the end of the line. He scowled and looked towards the commotion.
A minion quickly reported the situation at the back.
“What? The son of a God of Destruction?” King Yemma’s expression changed several times, and he trembled all over. He abruptly stood up to go and greet him.
But just as King Yemma stood up, he felt something was off.
Wait a minute!
How come I don’t know that Lord Beerus has a son?
Moreover, I’ve never heard of Lord Beerus having a son.
King Yemma looked from a distance and saw that the soul was a strange-looking kid.
He even resembled my minions somewhat.
Not a cat person!
Lord Beerus’s son should be a cat, right?
How could he look so strange?
“Bring him to me!” King Yemma ordered, sitting back down.
Two minions quickly brought Muse forward.
“You’re all doomed! How dare you be rude to me? Do you know who my father is?” Muse shouted angrily, “My father is a God of Destruction!”
“Beat him, beat him until he’s scattered!” King Yemma ordered angrily.
“Bang bang bang!”
Already annoyed by Muse’s arrogance, the two minions began stabbing his soul mercilessly with their pitchforks.
Muse let out agonized screams.
The souls waiting in line shivered in fear upon hearing the tragic cries.
Muse soon stopped shouting, his soul heavily damaged, nearly dissipating.
“This guy is really tough,” Ren remarked.
“Beating him is fun!” Broly cheered.
Merus remained silent.
However, Merus felt that Muse’s arrogance was his own fault.
You’re already dead; why cause trouble in the afterlife?
Just line up quietly. Why cut the line?
Are you in a hurry to be reborn?
If you didn’t cut the line, you might have waited for your father to rescue you.
Now, after being beaten, are you satisfied?
Thinking of this, Merus shook his head lightly.
What am I thinking?
I feel like Ren and Broly are leading me astray.
I’m an angel… I shouldn’t think this way!
“Say again, who is your father?” King Yemma asked, narrowing his eyes.
“My… my father is… is a God of Destruction…” Muse whispered weakly.
Without waiting for King Yemma to respond, the two minions again stabbed Muse’s soul relentlessly.
Muse’s soul was now extremely weak, lying on the ground, twitching, barely alive.
No, to be precise, he was already dead, just a soul now.
If his soul dies again, he’ll completely cease to exist.
If the soul doesn’t die, angels can use resurrection techniques to revive him.
But if the soul dies, he’ll vanish completely from this universe and the afterlife.
Only the Super Dragon Balls can revive a soulless being.
“This is the first time I’ve seen a soul cut in line at King Yemma’s court!” King Yemma chuckled, looking at Muse.
Muse could no longer speak.
King Yemma slowly opened the death ledger and looked at Muse’s life record.
Everything was unknown.
King Yemma: “???”
“Life unknown? Death unknown?” King Yemma was confused.
“King Yemma, he must be a nobody. The death ledger doesn’t even bother recording his life and death,” a staff member whispered.
“You’re right. Send him to the soul cleansing machine and let him be reborn as a cat next life. Isn’t he proud of being the son of a God of Destruction? Maybe he’ll get his wish,” King Yemma decided, stamping Muse’s record and handing it to a minion.
“Yes, King Yemma,” the minion said, taking the paper.
The two minions dragged the barely conscious Muse to a cart.
The cart started, carrying Muse and other souls away.
Merus: “…”
“Didn’t expect him to end up like this…” Merus said, looking complicated.
Even Ren didn’t expect that Lord Mosco’s son would be reborn so soon.
He’s been dead for less than an hour.
But who told him to cut the line?
Maybe he was used to throwing his weight around in Universe 3, and he thought he could do the same in the afterlife of Universe 7.
Ren watched as Muse was sent into the soul cleansing machine.
The machine spun, wiping Muse’s memories clean, then sent him to be reborn.
“Merus, it seems we were a bit redundant,” Ren said.
Merus wiped his sweat quietly.
Indeed, a bit redundant.
Even if we didn’t come, that guy would’ve been reborn anyway.
“Not really redundant,” Merus replied. “If we hadn’t come, there would still be evidence in the death ledger that he died at Broly’s hands.”
“You’re right,” Ren nodded.
“Is it over?” Broly asked, scratching his head, not satisfied.
“What else do you want? The person you tore in half has already been reborn,” Merus sighed.
“Uh… Is it my fault?” Broly said, touching his fingers together, looking a bit aggrieved.
Merus didn’t want to deal with him.
