- Chapter 96 - Vados Remembers the Exquisite Angel
“By the way, Supreme Kai, after you left for the Destroyer’s Realm, Merus suddenly produced a black staff and started looking at something on it,” Kibito suddenly remembered and added.
The Supreme Kai froze for a moment, turning to Kibito as a scene popped into his mind.
Thinking carefully.
“Kibito, does that black staff have a crystal ball at the top?” The Supreme Kai suddenly had a bad feeling.
“Yes, after you left, Merus and that guy named Ren were staring at the crystal ball… it seemed like they could see you through it,” Kibito guessed, his face stiff.
“What? They could see me?” The Supreme Kai’s eyes widened in shock.
After a long silence, the Supreme Kai clapped his hands, eyes shining.
“What is it, Supreme Kai?” Kibito asked curiously.
“I get it now, I finally know what’s going on!” The Supreme Kai smiled widely.
“What’s going on?” Kibito pressed.
“The Realm of the Destroyers I went to… was likely an illusion created by that Merus guy,” the Supreme Kai huffed.
“An illusion?” Kibito was stunned.
“Exactly. I accidentally entered his illusion, which is why I couldn’t defeat anyone there!” The Supreme Kai realized, “Otherwise, why have I never heard of such a powerful Destroyer? And he was so strong!”
Kibito also had an epiphany, instantly understanding.
“So… who exactly is this Merus?” Kibito wondered.
“Very likely from the Demon Realm…” the Supreme Kai speculated.
“The Demon Realm?” Kibito was puzzled, “But he didn’t seem like a bad guy.”
“Just watch, Kibito. I don’t think things are as simple as we imagine,” the Supreme Kai smiled confidently, “Merus and his team will be back!”
As they talked, a brilliant streak of light flashed in the sky.
Merus descended from above, landing near the Supreme Kai and Kibito.
The Supreme Kai smiled triumphantly at Kibito: “What did I tell you?”
Kibito immediately looked at the Supreme Kai with admiration.
As expected of the Supreme Kai, always predicting things perfectly.
“It’s you again!” The Supreme Kai looked at Merus calmly, as if everything was under control.
“Supreme Kai, sorry to bother you…” Merus bowed respectfully.
“You are not welcome here!” The Supreme Kai huffed.
The Supreme Kai suddenly remembered being humiliated by that guy Broly, who had pressed his head into the ground.
And Broly had enlarged the hole in the ground while pressing his head.
Is this how you insult a god?
Just a legendary Super Saiyan?
Is being a legendary Super Saiyan that great?
You must have orchestrated this!
Kibito also glared angrily from the side.
You really came back!
If looks could kill, Merus would have been killed millions of times by the Supreme Kai and Kibito.
Merus wanted to sigh deeply.
Why do I have to take the blame for what Ren did?
“I’m here to resolve the Majin Buu issue,” Merus said politely.
“Majin Buu?” The Supreme Kai was surprised.
Kibito’s eyes widened as well.
The two of them exchanged glances, their eyes filled with surprise.
“So, the legendary Super Saiyan Broly is going to help us eliminate Majin Buu?” The Supreme Kai felt his happiness come too suddenly.
The previous humiliation vanished at that moment.
The Supreme Kai’s greatest wish was to eliminate the threat of Majin Buu.
For the legendary Super Saiyan to step in was a blessing for the universe.
“That’s about right,” Merus answered.
It’s not the legendary Super Saiyan taking action.
It’s me.
But as an angel, I can’t use my angelic powers to fight Majin Buu.
Or I will disappear.
But I’ve already figured out how to deal with him.
I don’t plan to fight him, I plan to tame him.
I should be able to do it!
If Ren can tame a legendary Super Saiyan, why can’t I tame a Majin Buu?
Merus’s eyes were firm, filled with anticipation.
I’m about to have my own Destroyer.
“Where’s Broly?” The Supreme Kai noticed Broly wasn’t with Merus and quickly asked.
“He’ll appear when the time is right,” Merus replied, avoiding the truth.
Didn’t I promise not to lie anymore?
Why am I lying again?
It’s all because of Kusu, making me lie.
Now I don’t even blush when I lie.
“Can you take me to Majin Buu’s location now?” Merus asked sincerely, seeking the Supreme Kai’s permission.
Hearing Merus’s words, the Supreme Kai immediately looked over warily.
Kibito also looked increasingly serious.
“What do you want?” The Supreme Kai glared at Merus.
“I figured you wanted to release Majin Buu, right?” Kibito huffed coldly.
“I always felt something was off about you!” The Supreme Kai shouted, glaring at Merus, “When I went to the Realm of the Destroyers, the black staff you held was almost identical to that of Whis! What’s your connection?”
“Whis is my brother,” Merus replied honestly.
“You’re all demons! You must be from the Demon Realm! That Whis guy is someone you conjured!” The Supreme Kai exclaimed, shouting at Merus, “Am I right?”
As he spoke, the Supreme Kai and Kibito backed away cautiously, taking defensive stances.
Merus wanted to cry but couldn’t.
I’m a genuine god… and you say I’m a demon.
And from the Demon Realm?
Unbelievable.
“Your ultimate goal is to release Majin Buu and destroy the universe, am I right?” The Supreme Kai shouted angrily.
Merus was speechless.
But your accusation of releasing Majin Buu is true.
I do want that.
“The sins of the angel race are such that even the legendary Super Saiyan despises you, right?” The Supreme Kai continued shouting.
Merus: “…”
“The two Saiyans left your team…” Kibito clenched his fists, gritting his teeth, “Saiyans are a warrior race with strong pride. They’d never team up with a demon like you!”
Merus stayed silent.
Am I worse than those two Saiyans?
“Fine, I’ll find it myself.” Merus sighed.
Originally, I thought asking the Supreme Kai would make it easier to find Majin Buu.
But since you won’t help, I’ll use my staff to locate him.
I can find him on my own.
It’s just more effort.
“Supreme Kai, you should learn more about the divine realm,” Merus said, flying into the sky and soon disappearing.
In the high sky, Merus used the crystal ball on his staff to locate Majin Buu.
This was a complex process.
It also consumed a lot of angelic power.
After all, according to Ren’s calculation, Merus’s angelic power wasn’t very pure.
Only 40% pure.
If his angelic power were purer, it would be easier to find.
This was why Merus wanted to ask the Supreme Kai.
“Supreme Kai, he’s over there… floating and looking at the crystal ball!” Kibito suddenly pointed to Merus in the sky.
“I see him… what’s he up to? Using magic?” The Supreme Kai frowned.
“What should we do, Supreme Kai?” Kibito asked anxiously.
The Supreme Kai was silent, unsure of what Merus was planning.
“Supreme Kai, isn’t he locating Majin Buu?” Kibito speculated, “His staff seems like a magician’s wand that can pinpoint someone.”
The Supreme Kai’s expression changed, staring at Kibito.
You make a lot of sense.
It seems plausible.
“If what you say is true, we’re in trouble!” Cold sweat dripped from the Supreme Kai’s face, “We must stop him from finding Majin Buu!”
“Should we take him down?” Kibito clenched his teeth, “Though he acts polite, it’s to make us careless… His ultimate goal is to release Majin Buu and disrupt the universe’s peace!”
“You’re right, Kibito!” The Supreme Kai nodded seriously, “We must stop him, we can’t let him succeed.”
The two quickly devised a plan.
A minute later.
“Whoosh!”
The Supreme Kai and Kibito appeared near Merus.
Merus was still locating Majin Buu.
Seeing the Supreme Kai and Kibito, Merus was slightly surprised, then looked at the Supreme Kai.
“Supreme Kai… is there a problem?” Merus asked politely.
“Merus, you won’t find Majin Buu!” The Supreme Kai shouted.
“Supreme Kai, I mean no harm…” Merus sighed.
“Hah!”
The Supreme Kai didn’t listen and thrust his hands forward.
An invisible force quickly covered Merus.
Merus was startled.
Why are you attacking suddenly?
“Whoosh!”
Merus dodged the attack.
“Quick reflexes! And you say you’re not from the Demon Realm?” The Supreme Kai shouted.
Merus: “…”
Am I quick because I’m from the Demon Realm?
“You can’t escape!” The Supreme Kai chased after him.
Merus looked helpless.
“Zoom!”
Kibito suddenly shot an energy beam at Merus’s back.
“Whoosh!”
Merus dodged with Ultra Instinct, avoiding the attack.
“What? You dodged? Do you have eyes on your back?” Kibito exclaimed.
“Supreme Kai, Kibito, you misunderstand me!” Merus was frustrated.
“Enough talk, we won’t let you find Majin Buu!” The Supreme Kai shouted, rushing at Merus.
“Supreme Kai, I won’t hold back,” Merus sighed, dodging the punch.
“Sm
ack!”
Merus hit the back of the Supreme Kai’s neck.
The Supreme Kai fainted.
“What… Supreme Kai!” Kibito was shocked.
He never thought the Supreme Kai would be knocked out by one hit.
“You should rest too,” Merus smiled at Kibito.
“Whoosh!”
Merus vanished.
“What? Vanished? Where did he go?” Kibito looked around.
Kibito was shocked to find Merus behind him.
Kibito turned mechanically, his face pale.
“Bang!”
Merus hit Kibito with his staff.
Kibito saw stars and fainted.
Merus sighed.
This is troublesome.
I need to educate them on the divine realm.
Or how will Universe 7 develop?
I should focus on myself.
I must find Majin Buu.
Merus resumed using his staff’s crystal ball to locate Majin Buu.
After over an hour.
Merus’s eyes lit up.
“Found him!” Merus said excitedly, “He’s on Earth…”
If I knew, I would’ve gone with Ren to Earth earlier.
“Snap!”
Merus’s body shone like stars and flew towards Earth.
…
Universe 7, space.
A streak of light flashed.
In the light were Ren, Vados, and a robot controlled by Broly.
After hours of travel, they left Universe 10, crossed the Null Realm, and entered Universe 7.
“Vados, there’s Earth,” Ren pointed to a blue planet.
“Oh my, what a beautiful planet,” Vados admired.
Broly was excited.
Finally back.
Can have a good meal.
“Whoosh!”
Vados descended with Ren and Broly, landing in Bulma’s yard.
“Snap!”
Ren jumped off Vados’s back, shouting, “Hey, Doctor, Bulma, we’re back!”
Vados: “???”
A blue-haired girl ran out from the next room.
She had a ponytail, blue hair swaying, and her face full of joy.
Vados looked thoughtfully at the girl.
Is this the ponytailed girl you dreamt of?
Your ages match…
Bulma ran to Ren, looked at him, then at Vados, blinking, “Who are you?”
“Let me introduce, this is Vados,” Ren said, “Vados, this is my good friend Bulma.”
“Hello, Bulma,” Vados smiled, crouching to shake Bulma’s hand.
“Strange skin color…” Bulma murmured.
“Well… our race’s skin is like this,” Vados laughed.
“Race?” Ren was curious, “Are there angels with different skin?”
“Yes, similar to yours. She’s called Exquisite,” Vados smiled.
“Exquisite? Not an angelic name,” Ren was surprised.
I didn’t know such an angel existed.
I’m a transmigrator.
“Oh, the naming system malfunctioned, it randomly chose that name. We never changed it,” Vados explained.
Ren: “…”
“You and Broly are Saiyans? I heard Saiyans use a random naming system too,” Vados smiled, “Your name isn’t very Saiyan.”
“Uh… my naming system also malfunctioned,” Ren laughed.
“Hehe, you two have a connection,” Vados giggled.
“Exquisite Angel? Which universe?” Ren asked curiously.
“Universe 18,” Vados answered.
Ren was silent.
Ren knew Universe 18 had disappeared by this time.
Not only Universe 18, but Universes 13-17 also disappeared.
No reason was given in the story for why Zeno erased them.
“Oh, Universe 18 disappeared long ago… no need to dwell on it,” Vados sighed.
“Do angels disappear with universes?” Ren asked.
“No… but Exquisite was an exception. She chose to disappear with her universe,” Vados sighed, “Exquisite loved her universe…”
Ren: “…”
“Millions of years ago… it’s past,” Vados recalled, her expression neutral.
“Millions of years? You’ve lived that long?” Bulma was surprised.
“Oh… I slipped up… hehe,” Vados laughed.
Bulma: “…”
Brief silence.
“Isn’t this an old witch?” Bulma muttered.
Vados: “…”
Is that how you talk about angels?
“Ren, you were gone a month, you promised to take me out…” Bulma pouted, unhappy.
Broly found the robot Ai, grinning.
“What are you looking at?” Broly spoke.
“Zzz…”
Electricity covered Broly.
Broly laughed.
Ren and others glanced at him, then ignored him.
“Where’s my sister?” Bulma noticed her sister missing.
“She stayed with the Galactic Patrol,” Ren said.
“How relaxing, ignoring house chores?” Bulma hummed, taking out a ring, and giving it to Ren, “Here, a storage ring for you.”
“Nice, Bulma is amazing,” Ren ruffled Bulma’s hair, examining the ring, “How to use it?”
“Wear it, tap three times to open storage, take what you want. It auto-closes after,” Bulma explained, “I thought long for this solution.”
“Great,” Ren nodded, “But if I fight, will it break? Will items drop?”
Bulma: “…”
“But why wear a ring to fight?” Bulma blinked.
Ren was silent.
Why not fight?
“Actually, use angel power to reinforce it, then it won’t break,” Vados suggested, stretching, “We came for food, right?”
“Ai, stop shocking Broly, prepare a feast, royal standard,” Ren told the robot Ai.
“Got it!” Ai’s head flashed.
“Zzz!”
Ai shocked Broly again, then flew away.
“Feels good,” Broly laughed.
“Ren, Broly speaks better now,” Bulma noticed, telling Ren.
“Yes,” Ren nodded.
“Wait… why royal standard for you?” Bulma asked angrily.
“Not important,” Ren pinched Bulma’s cheek.
“Don’t pinch, makes me drool,” Bulma hummed, looking at the big robot, and patting it, “Strange robot.”
…
Bulma’s automated kitchen prepared a variety of dishes in 10 minutes.
Mostly Western cuisine.
Ren didn’t mind, occasionally eating Western food.
But he preferred Chinese food.
Though it was Western, Vados enjoyed it, her eyebrows dancing.
Broly ate heartily.
Vados enjoyed the process.
Broly enjoyed filling his stomach.
Bulma’s mom, Panchi, joined them.
But Dr. Brief was still researching, saying he’d come later, letting them eat first.
“Delicious?” Ren smiled at Vados.
“Ren, you’re right, move Earth to Universe 6… or restore Universe 6 Earth,” Vados pondered.
Such a good planet in Universe 7 is a waste.
Should be in Universe 6.
“This is just a start, there’s more you haven’t tried,” Ren said.
“Isn’t this the best food?” Vados asked.
“Hmph, it’s the best, the king ate this too,” Bulma was displeased.
Ren, you’re too much.
Such good food, royal standard, and you say there’s better!
“What haven’t I tried?” Vados asked, smiling.
“Many things,” Ren thought, listing, “Steamed lamb, bear paws, deer tails, roast duck, roast chicken, roast goose, braised pork, braised duck, marinated chicken, smoked meat, assorted cold cuts, smoked chicken…”
Vados’s eyes blinked quickly, drooling.
Why do these dishes sound so good?
“Hey? Ren, why haven’t I heard of these?” Bulma blinked.
“Me neither,” Broly ate cake, scratching his head.
“You’ll see,” Ren smiled mysteriously.
As they talked, Dr. Brief rode a bike over.
“Ren’s back?” Dr. Brief called.
“Hello, Doctor,” Ren greeted.
Dr. Brief parked his bike, adjusting his glasses, noticing Vados.
“A guest?” Dr. Brief smiled, “Welcome.”
“Hello, Dr. Brief, thank you for the meal,” Vados bowed politely.
Dr. Brief bowed back, joining the meal.
“Doctor, how’s the spaceship modification?” Ren asked, eating pizza.
“Almost done…” Dr. Brief mused.
“Over a month… not in capsule form yet?” Ren was surprised, “Wasn’t it supposed to take a month?”
“Well… there’s one issue…” Dr. Brief pondered.
“Can it become a capsule?” Ren asked.
“Yes,” Dr. Brief handed a capsule case to Ren.
Ren took the case, opening it to find a universal capsule.
The label read “Spaceship.”
“Isn’t it ready? Don’t tell me you want to install a surround sound system?” Ren guessed.
“You know me, Ren!” Dr. Brief nodded, “Don’t underestimate the placement, I want it to be immersive, with great impact.”
“No need, I don’t listen to music,” Ren said, pressing the capsule, and throwing it.
“Boom!”
The capsule became a medium spaceship.
Ren inspected it, finding it completely redesigned, unlike Frieza’s ship.
It looked like the ship Goku used to Namek but different in details.
“Are you sure about no sound system?” Dr. Brief asked.
“No need,” Ren shook his head, telling Broly, “Store the ship carefully, don’t break it.”
Broly nodded, approaching the ship, looking confused.
“How to store?” Broly asked the Doctor.
“Press the red button, it becomes a capsule,” Dr Brief pointed to a button on the ship.
Broly gently pressed, fearing to break it.
“Whoosh!”
The ship became a capsule.
Broly caught it, carefully placing it in the case, then in his pocket.
“Ren, I noticed the robot you brought back… want to make it a capsule too?” Dr. Brief asked, inspecting the robot.
“This robot is very tough,” Ren
said, cutting it with a steak knife.
