Dragon Ball Xenoverse - Chapter 13
A week passed quickly. During this week, Pica adapted to fifty times gravity in the gravity room, and his combat power reached 40,000. He changed into his specially customized martial arts uniform from the gods and headed to the venue of the World’s First Martial Arts Conference.
On the way, people came and went, all heading to the martial arts conference. Although there were not too many people in the Time City, and they usually didn’t gather in one place, the World’s First Martial Arts Conference was an event they had to attend every three years.
Every time the martial arts conference made all the spectators’ blood boil, so the people of the Time City were all martial enthusiasts, and they had the highest respect for the strong.
When Pica walked into the preliminary competition venue, there were hundreds of people gathered, divided into several groups, with people of the same race staying together, time patrollers with good relationships staying together, and some individuals coming alone, just like Pica.
In front of them were eight arenas, each with a host on stage, and many staff members below testing the sturdiness of the competition platforms and the energy of the protective shields (Note: These shields only block energy attacks, while people can easily pass through them).
“Welcome everyone to the preliminary venue of the World’s First Martial Arts Conference. I am Lucia.” The preliminary competition venue suddenly dimmed, and eight beams of light swirled, gradually converging on a figure. A sixteen-year-old girl stood in mid-air, wearing a combat suit, with long black hair flowing behind her.
The combat suit, which was not very attractive, was tightly fitted, highlighting her amazing figure, with small breasts about to pop out and a face as cute as a doll; her two long, fair arms were naturally draped over her slim waist. The most striking part was her long, dazzling legs, entirely exposed due to her very short tight shorts, making people thirsty at first sight. She wore white combat boots on her feet, making her figure look even taller and more attractive.
“Wow…”
The crowd erupted in strong screams. In the spotlight, Lucia raised her white arms like lotus roots, punching the air and saying, “Here I announce, the ’15th World’s First Martial Arts Conference,’ starts now.”
“Ah…”
“So, let me briefly explain the rules!” Lucia pointed at the competition platforms and said, “There are eight arenas here, and each of you received a card when you entered, with numbers from one to eight. Each number corresponds to a competition platform.”
Everyone checked their cards, and then a commotion broke out.
“I’m number five! What about you?” “I’m number three!” “Ah! Lucky, not the same arena as you.” “Ah! How annoying, we’re in the same arena, I’m doomed to lose.”
Pica took out his card, which said “7,” and heard a cold voice from behind: “What number are you?”
“Ah! Don’t scare me suddenly! Uh, I’m number seven, what about you?” Pica saw Fei Li standing behind him, patting his chest.
“Heh, I’m also number seven.” Fei Li looked at Pica with intense fighting spirit in his eyes.
“Oh, well, I look forward to having an exciting match with you.” Pica extended his hand to Fei Li.
“Same here.” Fei Li shook hands with Pica, turned, and walked to the number seven arena.
“Hey… Seriously, can’t you talk to me for a while? I’m so bored alone.” Pica looked at Fei Li’s back helplessly.
“Now everyone knows their competition platforms. This competition will adopt the king-of-the-hill format. Only one challenger can go up at a time. Only by successfully defending your platform can you enter the top eight of the World’s First Martial Arts Conference. So…” Lucia waved her hand and shot a ki blast at the gong.
“The competition begins…”
Pica walked to the number seven arena. A strong Namekian in the number seven arena shot a ki blast, knocking the challenger off the platform.
“Bidilin successfully defended, next challenger…” A young host called out with a microphone.
“Heh heh… Since no one’s going, leave it to me.” A Frost Demon jumped onto the platform, saying coldly.
“The match begins!”
The two on stage moved at high speed, with ki blasts hitting the protective shield of the platform, causing ripples. The Frost Demon elbowed the Namekian in the stomach, knocking him out of the protective shield.
Subsequent matches became increasingly exciting, with the platform masters changing one after another, sometimes an Earthling, sometimes a Namekian. In any case, no one managed to defend against multiple challengers, as many used up most of their energy at the start, unable to withstand the third or fourth attack.
“Wow, this contestant is truly impressive. He is the star among this batch of trainee time patrollers, known as the genius Saiyan warrior—Alex, and also the brother of the popular idol Lucia.” The host exclaimed.
A black-haired boy stood on the stage, also in a combat suit. He looked only twelve or thirteen years old, but the strong aura he emitted shocked many contestants around.
“Didn’t expect him to be in our arena, this is tough.”
“Yeah, heard his combat power is as high as ten thousand.”
The contestants by the arena discussed Alex on stage, while Pica watched him with a slight smile. Combat power of ten thousand, from the strength of his aura, ten thousand was just him holding back. His real power was at least fifteen thousand, maybe even twenty thousand.
Alex began by striking the defender in the neck, making him collapse on the platform, unconscious.
“…” The host stared wide-eyed at the fallen defender, speechless. A medical staff came up, checked the defender, and shook his head, “Just fainted.”
“The winner is Alex.” The host announced.
Pica looked at Alex on stage and thought: One hit to the Yamen point, yet didn’t kill him, shows his excellent control over his strength.
Yamen point, located at the nape, 0.5 inches above the posterior hairline, below the first cervical vertebra, a confluence of the Du Meridian and Yangwei Meridian. Being struck impacts the medulla oblongata, causing loss of speech, dizziness, and unconsciousness. Poor control could be fatal.
“Next challenger!” Alex coldly said. The people below murmured but no one went up.
Pica didn’t notice that the popular idol they mentioned was standing beside him, watching Alex on stage.
“Not bad…” Lucia said faintly, “Only then can he be my brother.”
Pica turned to look at Lucia, but she ignored him.
“Next challenger…” The host looked around and said, “Since no one’s going, then…”
“Me!” Pica instantly appeared on the stage, saying, “I’ll challenge…”
Ready to step up, Fei Li and Lucia in the audience looked at Pica on stage and thought:
“This guy’s strength has increased again! (Who is this person…)”
