Dragon Ball Xenoverse - Chapter 17
##
“Whoosh!”
Pica swiftly dodged Yarin’s energy blasts in the sky, diving down and instantly appearing in front of Yarin.
Pica landed several punches on Yarin, but no sound was heard. He then leaped back to distance himself from Yarin.
“Do you really think those soft punches can hurt me? Don’t make me laugh!” Yarin said arrogantly.
“Snap!”
Pica snapped his fingers and said, “Do you really think your strong defense makes you invincible?”
“Hmm?” Yarin felt a dull thud within his body, followed by a series of internal noises that reached everyone’s ears.
“Bang bang bang!”
“Ugh!” Yarin spat out a mouthful of blood and said, “What kind of attack is this? Why can it bypass my body’s defense?”
“I don’t mind telling you. It’s called internal force,” Pica proudly explained. “This technique is something I heard about on Earth, known only by older martial artists.”
Mr. Guo once said, “The steps of internal and external force are the same. The difference is that external force is audible, while internal force is silent.”
“Argh!” Yarin cried out in pain, kneeling on one knee and clutching his right shoulder. Looking at Pica, he said reluctantly, “I won’t give up like this. Roar!!”
Cracks appeared on Yarin’s massive body, emitting golden light that illuminated the arena.
From the light emerged a green figure. This was Yarin, now less than two meters tall, with a perfectly proportioned body covered in green exoskeleton armor. He looked much more refined than before, with the bulky tail gone and a long antenna extending from his forehead to his waist.
“I haven’t used this form in a long time,” Yarin said, his voice now that of a fifteen or sixteen-year-old boy. “Although this form greatly enhances my strength, I can only maintain it for ten minutes…”
Pica frowned and said, “You’re just outright telling me your weakness? Aren’t you afraid I’ll use it to beat you?”
“I’m not afraid because…” Yarin instantly appeared beside Pica and said, “I will defeat you within ten minutes.”
“Bang!”
A lightning-fast punch landed on Pica’s stomach, sending him flying several meters back.
“Bang!” Yarin grabbed Pica by the collar with one hand and said, “Now my strength is five times what it was before. Beating you is child’s play.”
Yarin then tossed Pica away.
“Could it be… I’ll lose like this? I won’t accept it. I won’t!!”
Pica’s eyes snapped open, his body surrounded by white flames, interspersed with some red ones. His power surged to its peak, reaching a combat power of 80,000.
The red flames intertwined with the white ones, eventually consuming them entirely. Pica’s hair stood up, swaying in the wind.
“I didn’t expect Kaio-ken to be this powerful!” Pica muttered, looking at Yarin on the stage.
The Pica in the sky slowly faded away—it was just an afterimage. The real Pica had already appeared in front of Yarin, kicking him with a fiery strike.
“Bang!” Yarin was sent flying, crashing into the ground and leaving a large crater.
“How is this possible? You’re only using two times Kaio-ken, but your power surpassed mine?” Yarin said in disbelief.
“Did I ever say I was using two times Kaio-ken? I’m using three times!” Pica’s aura shot up, as if it could pierce the sky. Even Trunks, far away, noticed the surge and smiled, saying to a petite girl beside him, “Supreme Kai of Time, it seems Shenron has indeed brought us a powerful warrior.”
“How could this be?” Yarin was stunned.
Pica landed on the ground, his aura making his hair stand completely upright, revealing his forehead.
“Nothing is impossible,” Pica said proudly.
The audience didn’t expect so many twists in the fight. Just when Yarin seemed dominant, Pica turned the tables again.
“Argh!!” Yarin threw a punch at Pica.
“Are you still not giving up?” Pica easily caught Yarin’s weak punch.
“I won’t give up!!” Yarin screamed, tears welling up in his eyes. He looked up at the clear sky and said helplessly, “I…”
“Lost…”
“Yarin has conceded. The winner is Pica!” Lucia announced as she landed on the stage. She glanced at Pica with a puzzled look, recalling his fight with Fei Li. How could he have learned Kaio-ken in just a few hours? If true, this guy is terrifying.
“Now for the second match: Rait versus Brian,” Lucia said, stepping off the stage.
Two Earthlings entered the stage and began chatting instead of fighting.
“Brian, when did we last fight?”
“I forgot!”
“How could you?”
“Why should I remember? You always lose.”
“This time, I’ll win for sure!”
“Stop bragging. Win first, then talk.”
They both summoned energy swords—Rait’s was golden, Brian’s was green.
The two moved at high speed, only visible as colliding beams of green and yellow light.
Their battle quickly reached a climax. Brian’s sword slashed Rait’s, breaking it into scattered light particles. The sword tip pointed at Rait’s neck.
“Sigh, it’s always like this. Using swordplay to determine the winner is boring,” Rait said reluctantly.
“I taught you to fight, so beat me next time with your sword skills,” Brian said with a smile.
“Alright, haha…” Rait laughed and walked off the stage with Brian.
“The second match is over. The winner is Brian.”
“Next match: Manhas versus Lin Feihong.”
