Dragon Ball Xenoverse - Chapter 18
##
A red-haired Lin Feihong was the first to step into the arena, followed closely by Manhas, who was engulfed in red flames. The two entered the arena one after the other.
Manhas was entirely wrapped in flames, making him look like a “fire man.” The flames covered him so thoroughly that only his white teeth, blinking eyes, and dark nostrils were visible.
Lin Feihong, on the other hand, appeared to be just an ordinary Earthling with no indication of extraordinary power.
“Let the match begin…”
A ball of fire charged towards Lin Feihong, leaving a trail of flames in its wake.
“You’re too hot, it’s making me uncomfortable. Stay away from me,” Lin Feihong said, punching the air. A gust of wind headed towards Manhas.
“Whoosh…”
Manhas only felt a breeze pass by, and then his raging flames were extinguished. A sharp pain spread from his chest as he flew back, crashing into the wall of the audience stands.
“Manhas has fallen out of the ring. Lin Feihong is the winner,” the announcer declared.
“Next up, Frilca and Bit!”
“Tap, tap, tap.”
Frilca was the first to appear. He had two horns on his head, three fingers on each hand and foot, wore only a protective vest on his upper body, and a small pair of underwear on his lower body. His face was purple.
“That’s Frilca, the most powerful newcomer of the Frieza Clan,” the spectators discussed Frilca’s background.
“Interesting… The Frieza Clan. I hope he’s as strong as that other person,” Lin Feihong observed, looking at Frilca.
Bit, an Earthling, also possessed formidable energy. His power seemed on par with Pica’s current level.
“Tsk tsk, weakling. I suggest you surrender now to avoid embarrassment later,” Frilca sneered at Bit.
“Hmph, if anyone should surrender, it’s you!” Bit retorted defiantly.
“Tsk tsk, let’s see what you’ve got then,” Frilca’s grin grew more sinister.
“Begin the match!”
“Bang, bang!” The two clashed instantly. Frilca kicked Bit in the stomach, sending him skyward.
“Tsk tsk, know what volleyball is?” Frilca clasped his hands together and punched Bit back down. In the next moment, two Frilca figures appeared on the ground. One lightly volleyed Bit, while the other sped up and smashed him into a deep pit.
“Tsk tsk tsk, you’re so weak. I haven’t even warmed up yet,” Frilca taunted, his eyes filled with contempt.
“You… Don’t push me too far!” Bit got up from the ground, clenching his fists.
“Argh…” Bit’s energy multiplied, reaching a combat power of 240,000.
“The ant is shining now, huh? I told you to surrender, but you didn’t listen. Such a naughty child,” Frilca said, crossing his arms and looking down at Bit.
“Don’t get cocky!!” Bit charged at Frilca, his fists glowing golden like a roaring lion.
“Slap.”
Frilca effortlessly caught Bit’s powerful punch with his left hand.
“How… How is this possible?” Bit’s eyes were filled with disbelief.
“Tsk tsk, you want to hit me like this?” Frilca’s right hand began to glow with a golden light, shining so brightly it resembled a second sun.
“Whoosh…”
Frilca’s punch, although two meters away from Bit, carried a fierce wind. If Frilca’s punch was a roaring lion, Bit’s was a cub. How could a cub withstand the lion’s fury?
“Bang.”
Bit was sent flying like a kite with a broken string, landing outside the ring.
Bit lay outside the ring, his eyes filled with helplessness, fear, and disbelief. His best move, honed over years of training, was learned by Frilca with a single glance. Had his twenty-plus years been wasted?
“Bit is out of the ring. Frilca is the winner.”
“Dear spectators, please wait for an hour. The semi-finals will begin shortly.”
Pica sat backstage, stuffing food into his mouth. Lin Feihong watched with interest as Frilca meditated and Pica gorged himself. Aside from Lin Feihong, Frilca was the most outstanding participant.
Lin Feihong was intrigued by Pica because few people trained in Kaio-ken due to its severe strain on the body.
Pica ate voraciously, having not eaten since morning. Since becoming a Saiyan, his appetite had increased immensely, and he needed food to satisfy his cravings. For Pica, battle had become a necessity, like cigarettes to a smoker.
“Everyone, the order for the next matches is set.”
The manager pulled out a wooden board with the names arranged: “Lin Feihong vs. Brian; Pica vs. Frilca.”
“This was randomly selected by a computer, no manipulation involved,” the manager said with a sly smile. “If you have any doubts, you can ask the Supreme Kai of Time. She decided this.”
“Pff, who’d believe that? The usual matchups should have me against Brian and Lin Feihong against Frilca. That Supreme Kai of Time… I’ll deal with her later,” Pica thought angrily.
Frilca glanced at Pica and then smiled coldly, clearly looking down on him.
Lucia announced from the stage, “The match between Pica and Frilca will now begin.”
Pica glanced at Frilca and walked confidently to the stage. Frilca floated behind him, entering the stage.
“Begin the match!”
“Tsk tsk… Dirty monkey, you should surrender now. I hate Saiyan monkeys the most. Surrender before you sully my sight…”
