- Chapter 9 - Repairing History, Battling the Great Ape and the Time Patrol!
A month passed in the blink of an eye, and a man emerged from Kami’s palace.
Pica, shirtless with tattered pants, was covered in numerous wounds.
“Why are you so badly injured this time?” Kami asked in surprise.
“This time, Popo sent me to a planet with five times the gravity of Earth. The people there are all battle maniacs who fight at the slightest provocation,” Pica said casually.
“What? That’s impossible. The planet I set up shouldn’t have any inhabitants. I checked thoroughly,” Mr. Popo was shocked.
“There were no people on the surface, but underground, there were all kinds of people. From what I gathered, it seemed to be a prison planet for that star system. I fought with them every day. Now, I can use all my power,” Pica said proudly. He didn’t blame Kami and Popo; in fact, he was grateful they sent him there. Saiyans break through limits through battle.
“It’s our fault for being careless.”
“Hehe, no need for that. My power has far surpassed what it was when I first arrived,” Pica laughed, patting Popo’s shoulder.
“In that case, I won’t say more. We’ve prepared new clothes and food for you. Go clean up,” Kami said.
“Thank you, Kami-sama,” Pica replied with a grin.
Pica had been at Kami’s Lookout for a month and could now fully harness the power in every muscle.
“Wow, I’m so full,” Pica said contentedly, patting his stomach at the dining table.
Popo handed Pica a set of clothes, saying, “These clothes are based on your old ones but are much higher quality.”
“Thank you, Mr. Popo,” Pica said, taking the clothes. He changed into them: a blue martial arts uniform and black vest, but this time the vest wasn’t tight-fitting, and the pants were blue. The vest and shoes weighed 400 pounds, greatly enhancing the outfit’s defense.
“I’ve disturbed you for long enough. It’s time for me to go,” Pica said to Kami and Popo, then flew away.
“Hey, Korin, give me some Senzu Beans,” Pica called out to Korin outside the Korin Tower.
“Catch,” Korin said, tossing a small bag of Senzu Beans. Pica caught the bag, popped a bean into his mouth to heal his wounds, and flew east of the tower.
Even from Kami’s Lookout, Pica had sensed several strong energies clashing in the east. “The World Martial Arts Tournament has started, and these two energies are Goku and Master Roshi. The final match must be underway. I need to hurry.”
Pica sped up, arriving at the tournament grounds to see Master Roshi (disguised as Jackie Chun) and Goku fighting. Master Roshi held Goku with electric currents, trapping him.
But Pica noticed a black-purple glow in Goku’s eyes, and his body began to grow. In an instant, Goku transformed into a Great Ape.
The Great Ape punched Jackie Chun, sending him flying into the stands, blood dripping from his mouth. The referee, displaying admirable professionalism, announced, “Jackie Chun has been knocked out of the ring by Goku, who has transformed into a Great Ape. The winner and champion is—Goku!”
The crowd erupted in cheers, unaware of the danger.
“Idiots,” Pica muttered, watching the Great Ape. In the background, Yamcha, Bulma, Oolong, and Puar shouted, “Run! Goku has lost control!”
As soon as they spoke, the Great Ape formed a purple energy ball in its mouth, but a man in battle armor deflected it with a single hand.
The man had a stern expression and cold eyes fixed on the Great Ape. “Just need to cut off the Saiyan’s tail,” he muttered. His body glowed red, and his power increased by 50%.
“That’s… the Kaio-ken!” Pica was shocked. “This person must be a Time Patroller. I’ll go help him.”
Pica flew towards the tournament ring, but things didn’t go as planned.
A purple-haired girl in a tight outfit with a crescent-shaped staff appeared. (Note: This is an original character, not Towa from the Xenoverse games, who always appears with Mira. This character has a significant role in the story.) She shot a black energy stream from her staff, hitting the man.
The man fell, his eyes glowing red. His power doubled, reaching over 6000.
The purple-haired girl licked her lips and said in a mature, seductive voice, “The Time Patroller is under my control. Now, no one can stop the history from being altered.” She then disappeared into black-purple ripples, unnoticed by Pica.
“What?” Pica was shocked. The Great Ape and the controlled Time Patroller began destroying the tournament grounds, sending spectators fleeing. Falling debris killed many.
Rocky, a martial arts enthusiast, had brought his wife and child to watch the match. He never expected the contestants to go berserk and attack the audience.
A boulder fell towards Rocky. He shielded his family with his body, waiting for the impact.
But the impact never came. Rocky opened his eyes to see a young man in a martial arts uniform standing behind him, shooting golden ki blasts to pulverize the falling rocks.
“Get your family out of here. It’s dangerous,” Pica shouted.
“Thank you!” Rocky said, pulling his family to safety.
Krillin and Yamcha rescued Master Roshi and helped the spectators. Krillin saw Pica and thought, “Isn’t that the guy Goku and I saved? Why is he here?” As he was about to warn Pica to leave, Pica flew towards the Great Ape and the Time Patroller.
“Hey, you two, look here!” Pica shouted, launching two ki blasts at them.
The Time Patroller deflected the blasts with ease, chuckling darkly, “Hehehe… Better save and bookmark this!”
