- Chapter 535 - The Ultimate Battle that Decides the Fate of the Universe
The frantic extraction of power from various points in time inevitably had a massive impact on the course of the universe’s history.
Normally, temporal changes that do not alter the significant currents but only the minor ones do not cause severe shocks to the timeline. For instance, Hashirama’s victory over Madara at the Valley of the End was significant, and this outcome remained unchanged. However, the minor detail of Hashirama taking a few more punches during the battle and dying earlier is minor.
Such minute changes, when viewed against the backdrop of an infinite timeline, eventually settle and dissipate. The individuals affected by these minor ripples are inconsequential to the universe; their lives or deaths matter little.
But Yuuji’s actions, sending countless clones to plunder and devour through various historical periods, caused monumental tidal waves along the timeline.
The most terrifying aspect was that these waves were not isolated incidents but continuous and overlapping, affecting every node along the timeline. The feedback from these disturbances was a violent shock to everything in existence.
Yuuji, now enormously powerful and fueled by nuclear fusion and chakra, was on par with the God of Chakra.
The God of Chakra and the connected Otsutsuki clan members also realized the changes occurring in the universe.
“Madman, he’s truly a madman!”
“I initially thought this invader was from another universe, aiming to seize our chakra system and enslave our clan. But I was wrong!”
“He would destroy everything to achieve his goals. He’d rather destroy anything he doesn’t possess than let us have a share.”
“Could it be that this guy is from outside our universe? Then isn’t he an invasive demon attacking our world?”
The Otsutsuki, connected through the chakra network, could instantly understand each other’s thoughts, leading to chaos.
This individual, appearing human, clearly acted like a demon—at least in the eyes of the Otsutsuki.
As for the impact Yuuji had on his followers, they simply ignored it, considering it a demon’s trick.
“A demon, huh? This is the final battle between an alien demon and our native god! We cannot afford to lose!”
“We’ve already lost… This guy has wrecked the universe, every historical event has collapsed, and our understanding of everything has fallen apart. Even if we kill the enemy, we still have to face this devastated reality.”
“Damn it! Who’s spreading such defeatist thoughts at a time like this? Can’t you keep your thoughts to yourself and stop spreading negativity?”
The Otsutsuki were terrified and in disarray.
“A demon… If he can do this, even if he is a demon, he’s a demon god… an alien demon.”
The patriarch sighed internally, trying to control his thoughts, not to dwell on what his subconscious had noticed.
Even if he was a terrifying demon god, he was a being that had grown powerful in their universe using chakra.
The use of chakra, the Rinnegan, and the Rinne Sharingan, there was no denying it.
Moreover, the opponent had created a unique organ before them, capable of continuously generating massive amounts of energy distinct from the chakra.
Before this, the demon had cultivated his subordinates and slaughtered countless planets using primarily chakra.
Using their power to grow, this alien demon had crossed countless light-years to kill them…
The Otsutsuki, who prided themselves as the cosmic overlords, had utterly failed to notice.
Damn Isshiki, damn Kaguya!
This two had indirectly aided this demon god, becoming criminals to their clan and the universe!
Enraged, the Otsutsuki cursed Isshiki and Kaguya, seemingly forgetting that it was their clan that had initially sent members to slaughter native planets, and now they were merely natives being slaughtered.
“I’m too excited; this power will surely kill you.”
Yuuji’s form continued to expand, quickly reaching tens of thousands of meters, and he attacked the God of Chakra.
The demi-god, now increasingly sentient due to receiving the thoughts of the Otsutsuki, became more responsive.
“I will not die as long as there is chakra,” the God of Chakra transmitted its first conscious thought.
This surprised almost everyone.
Yuuji remained calm; chakra inherently contains mental energy, and each strand carries the creator’s mental imprint.
A confluence of countless chakras, while potentially chaotic in thought, cannot be entirely devoid of consciousness.
Boom!
Yuuji’s punch landed on the God of Chakra, akin to grasping an exploding planet. The endless burst spread to the opponent.
At that moment, the power of nuclear fusion on Yuuji expanded boundlessly, with countless subatomic particles colliding.
This punch was a genuine fusion-powered blow.
Powerful enough that when Yuuji’s fist hit the God of Chakra, it couldn’t withstand the internal burst of energy and exploded, or rather, the fist itself became part of the fusion process, no longer needing to remain intact.
Boom!
The unleashed power spread, energy against energy, neutralizing each other.
The God of Chakra’s enormous form swayed slightly, its blue body flickering momentarily, barely perceptible to the average person.
“With chakra, you will not die? Good ability, worthy of being birthed by these foolish clans… You were fortunate to be born early, not fused by these inferior beings. You should thank me.”
Yuuji continued to pound punch after punch.
The God of Chakra fought back, its immense energy body seemingly moving space and time. Billions of lights rapidly circled, intensively bombarding Yuuji.
These two colossal beings, amidst the raging tides of time, enduring the distortions and erasures brought by time twists, engaged in a brutal confrontation.
“Too powerful…”
“But this way, won’t we also be erased by time? One or two changes won’t affect reality now, but what’s happening far exceeds our comprehension! If I die, I can no longer serve Yuuji-sama. I won’t accept that!”
“What’s there to panic about? We have the power of Yuuji-sama and Planet Godzilla, not just as native beings of this timeline, but with a chance!”
Kabuto, Kazue, and others began to mobilize all their powers, striving to preserve their existence.
Six Path-level life forms were relatively unaffected, but those below that level had troubles.
Kabuto looked serious, having anticipated this situation. He immediately raised the unfinished Eye of the Universe.
It’s hard to describe precisely what this eerie eye looked like; it seemed an anomaly that shouldn’t exist, its gaze appearing to peek through countless dimensions with numerous eyes.
The Eye of the Universe focused on everyone, trying to confirm the existence of every inhabitant of the flesh and blood planet at this specific point in time.
Yuuji has no time to care about these, all his attention is on the God of Chakra.
As long as he could kill this being, he could ascend to godhood.
“It’s useless; I won’t die…” the God of Chakra spoke again.
Yuuji, thrown back tens of thousands of miles, stabilized himself while shaking his head, “Won’t die? Why emphasize that? Isn’t that the most basic capability? If you were easily killed, that would truly be unfit.”
The God of Chakra stopped talking, focusing on attacking.
Their battle grew increasingly brutal, nearly collapsing the star system of the Otsutsuki home planet.
Given their sizes, destroying planets was easy, but obliterating a star with one blow was still far beyond their reach.
The mass of a star is millions of times that of a normal planet.
These two demi-gods could destabilize a star system, cause planets to fragment, and even provoke solar flares, but destroying a star was out of the question.
To effortlessly obliterate a star, they must consume the other and ascend to godhood.
If you want to become the God of the Universe in the true sense, the critical step is to accumulate mass by absorbing all the chakra and natural energy of the universe. Then, manipulating various dimensions within the universe will be effortless.
In other words, the critical step was eliminating any obstruction and defeating the being that could compete for chakra shares and authority.
Defeat the opponent, seize control, and sweep the universe—it was just a matter of time and accumulation.
Everything was engulfed by terrifying energy clusters, with frightening magma-like substances ejecting from the stars.
Yuuji and the God of Chakra’s clash intensified, rapidly depleting their power reserves.
Such intense combat was too brutal, capable of effortlessly destroying space and planets.
Yuuji began drawing on the natural energy reserves from the flesh and blood planet to replenish himself.
“Good! That guy can’t hold on any longer. The rate at which he generates energy with that strange system can’t keep up with his consumption!”
“He’s absorbing natural energy for chakra now!”
“This clearly shows we have the upper hand. Victory is within reach!”
The Otsutsuki rejoiced.
The God of Chakra roared and began drawing natural energy from the Otsutsuki home planet.
However, it was clear that the remaining natural energy on the Otsutsuki’s home planet was far less than what was available on Yuuji’s planet. If there had been any surplus, it would have been collected and fed to the God of Chakra years ago.
The God of Chakra, having drained its home planet, realized it had absorbed an emptiness.
It saw Yuuji still voraciously consuming energy, with no idea how much he had stockpiled in advance.
“Don’t worry, we still have the advantage! He, an outsider using our power system, can’t possibly match us!” the patriarch hastily said.
The God of Chakra thought deeply, its thought process becoming more refined. It was now capable of analyzing pros and cons independently rather than listening to the Otsutsuki craving its body.
After some thought, the God of Chakra came to his own conclusion: he cannot listen to these guys and must draw more power.
So, where does the power come from?
The God of Chakra eyed those connected to it and immediately exerted its power.
“Wait, wait, why is my chakra draining faster?”
“Damn, I’m out of chakra, stop now!”
“It’s forcibly extracting our physical energy and spiritual energy!!”
Screams ensued, accompanied by one Otsutsuki after another turning into mummies.
They were drained to death.
Crack!
The God of Chakra discarded these mummies, letting them turn to dust under the energy impact. Its emotionless eyes turned towards the opposite side.
“Good, I was wondering when you would shed these burdens,” Yuuji commended.
The God of Chakra sent a mental notion, “When will you absorb your people? Those living beings are also one of your energy reserves.”
Yuuji paused, then chuckled wryly, “You’re mistaken; I won’t absorb them.”
“You will, just like I did. You will surely do the same when I push you to a dead end.”
“No, you still don’t understand… I never needed these individuals to offer me power.”
Yuuji spread his arms, and in an instant, countless versions of himself returned from various points.
The universe’s turmoil intensified, likely leaving half of it in ruins after this battle.
Countless planets fluctuated wildly in the madness of time’s distortions, deviating from their original paths.
“You’re insane!” the God of Chakra thundered.
The universe grew more chaotic, with countless life-bearing planets taking different paths, life becoming extinct, and natural energy dissipating.
“Does the survival of the universe matter? Defeating you is my priority. What does the state of the universe have to do with me?”
Yuuji’s expression had turned utterly cold, “I live, and the universe has a future to speak of; I don’t fare well; whether the universe exists or perishes, what does it have to do with me?”
The God of Chakra viewed the universe as its hunting ground, mourning every loss.
Yuuji saw the God of Chakra as his ultimate prey; other prey and even the hunting ground were irrelevant.
If he didn’t defeat the God of Chakra, everything else was meaningless to him.
Yuuji restored to his peak and launched another attack.
The two colossal beings entered the final phase of their battle.
The top priority in everything was to kill the opponent, and everything was fought to the death with this goal in mind.
