I Will Become Hokage in One Piece - Chapter 220
Chapter 220: The Five Old Folks
“Senjutsu: Goemon!”
Waves of oil surged forward, rolling down the iceberg. Atop the yellow oil, flames roared, fueled by the flammable liquid and the wind’s assistance. The fiery waves descended, bringing intense heat, a temperature that even Kuzan had to take seriously.
In his heart, he felt fortunate. If it were Kizaru or Akainu here, few Marines would likely survive.
If Kizaru came, he wouldn’t save many people, and Akainu was even less merciful. His Devil Fruit powers were more suited for offense, making rescue operations unsuitable for him. He might even end up harming his own subordinates.
Admiral Sengoku truly had foresight.
Just as Kuzan was preparing to act, he suddenly heard Rodney shout, “Suiton: Mizu Zenzu!”
What would happen when cold water mixed with scalding oil?
Anyone who had cooked before knew the answer: it would explode!
Instantly, with the assistance of the fiery oil, the cold water caused a tremendous explosion, creating terrifying molten oil projectiles!
The high-temperature oil still carried flames, melting the ice blocks. The molten oil projectiles soared toward the warships.
Kuzan hastily raised an ice wall to block the molten oil projectiles. However, despite his efforts, it was clear that Senjutsu was not easily defended against. Not everyone could absorb chakra like the hungry ghosts of the Six Paths.
The ice wall was breached by the flames, and some of the molten oil splattered onto the ships, causing injuries.
“Ah! Ah! Ah!”
“Quick, run!”
“It’s so hot! My hands! My hands!”
“My legs!”
The Marines screamed in agony. Kuzan couldn’t tend to the entire fleet in an instant. He sighed and used Shave to appear once again. This time, he was right in front of Rodney. Deep Sea King exhaled a fierce wind, filled with wind blades. Kuzan had initially not intended to retreat, but suddenly, he did so, landing on the ice. Wherever he stepped, the water’s surface was completely frozen.
He touched his cheek, and blood flowed. The wind… had injured him?
His body had clearly become elemental. Why had the wind injured him?
Seeing this, Granny Hebi understood that a temporary retreat was the best course of action at this moment. Otherwise, these young Marines would likely be slaughtered by Rodney. She couldn’t help but admit that Rodney’s destructive power was on par with Sakazuki’s, and he was much more versatile. After all, Sakazuki had only one Magma Fist attack, while Rodney could adapt to the situation and change his techniques accordingly.
“Takebayashi, Jigokuchun, you two go for reinforcements. Stoloberi, Kasa-yama, you’re in charge of supporting and protecting these young ones,” Granny Hebi, acting as the brains of this battle, directed the four Rear Admirals.
“Yes!”
The four Vice Admirals followed orders. Takebayashi and Jigokuchun immediately used Shave and Moonwalk to appear by Kuzan’s side, standing with him.
“Ah, Rodney, let’s come down and have a talk,” Kuzan was the first to speak.
“Admiral Kuzan wants to talk?” Rodney used Suiton to create a slide and descended with Jiraiya onto the ice where Kuzan stood. He asked, “What do you want to talk about? A few pieces of gold?”
Kuzan’s lips twitched. “This operation to besiege you isn’t the Marines’ intention.”
“I know. Admiral Sengoku reminded me. He wouldn’t easily act recklessly, and now he’s probably busy dealing with the world’s top criminals who escaped from Impel Down. He doesn’t have time to bother with me. It’s definitely those five brain-dead, stubborn old farts. They waste air while they’re alive and land when they’re dead, a bunch of decadent, useless old folks occupying graves.”
His words were filled with disdain for the Five Elders. This statement left the three opponents with strange expressions. However, it was indeed accurate. Now, instead of dealing with the criminals who escaped from Impel Down and the looming threat of the Revolutionary Army, they were chasing Rodney, all in the name of restoring the World Government’s dignity.
Does the World Government even have any dignity left, compared to those world-class criminals? Rodney couldn’t help but wonder. Even after Fish-Man Island joined the World Government, the discrimination against Fish-Men still persisted. What was the point of seeking approval from humans just because they controlled the land?
Of course, Rodney wouldn’t voice these thoughts aloud. Asking such questions would undermine the efforts of Princess Shirahoshi and others. He couldn’t do that.
He and Kuzan fell into silence. Suddenly, Rodney said, “But it seems like I’ve won.”
“Hmm?” Kuzan and the others were puzzled. They hadn’t even fought yet. How had he won?
However, when they turned around, they realized they had already lost.
Above the fleet, a purple toxic mist had appeared at some point. Wearing her deadly poison battle outfit, Rayju sat at the bow of the ship, her graceful figure radiating beauty. On the deck behind her, apart from Granny Hebi and the three Vice Admirals who were still struggling, the other Marines lay in the poisonous fog, their fates unknown.
With an anti-poison mask on, Conis drew her bow, and her arrows, imbued with Haki, were aimed at Granny Hebi. Any sudden movement from her would result in an arrow attack.
“This is a simple matter; just take a detour through the water,” Rodney smiled and said, his smile resembling that of a fox.
