I Will Become Hokage in One Piece - Chapter 224
Chapter 224: Major Event
“How about it, Fleet Admiral Sengoku? Have you considered it? You can relay a message for me even if you don’t connect to the Five Elders.”
“Speak,” Sengoku gritted his teeth, his voice squeezed out through clenched teeth, a feeling that made him feel humiliated and intolerable.
“From now on, if the Marines come looking for trouble again, the next target for a pinpoint detonation will be Mariejois. Whatever the state of the Judicial Island, that’s what Mariejois will look like,” Rodney sneered. “You can take it as a threat, but it’s just a fact.”
“You know that too!”
“Then it’s settled, retreat!”
“Get this poison out of me!”
“Reiku’s poison isn’t that dangerous; it’ll recover on its own in an hour. You won’t die; we prepared it specially,” he chuckled and created an ice path, connecting it to Reiku’s ship on one end and Avallon on the other.
“We’re leaving, no need to see us off.”
The shadow clones disappeared, and the Four Purple Flame Formation also automatically dissipated. Kuzan woke up, removed his eye mask, and sighed, “As expected, this kid, just as I thought.”
True to his expectations, Rodney wouldn’t go around killing Marines, or at least he rarely did. This time, his failure would damage the Marines’ prestige. Although such incidents weren’t rare, they couldn’t happen too often.
Gizaru said, “Admiral Kuzan, our mission failed.”
“No problem, failure was expected. Failure is what we anticipate. To capture Rodney takes a lot of effort. We already lost when they were poisoned. This time, Rodney showed mercy.”
Gizaru opened his mouth but didn’t know what to say. Kuzan was right; Rodney hadn’t killed any Marines, and Vice Admiral Wuruse was only severely injured. As for the others, they were mostly poisoned.
“However, this time, Fleet Admiral Sengoku, you have a headache,” Kuzan said. Being in the position of Fleet Admiral seemed like a hot seat; whenever anything went wrong, the blame fell on him.
Even more so because he had to endure the scolding of the Five Elders.
Sengoku: You old farts! I asked you to catch him from the start, but not only did you not do it, you also blocked the information. Now look what’s happened?
But these were his inner thoughts; he didn’t say them out loud. He kept a blank expression on his face, but internally, he cursed a lot.
He was already deeply disappointed in the World Government. Rodney’s warning had reached him. He didn’t care about this matter anymore. So after meeting with the Five Elders, he also went to see his former boss, the Commander-in-Chief of the Three Armies, Kong, and submitted his resignation. He was done; whoever wanted to take care of this group of idiots could do it!
Kong wanted to persuade him to stay, but when he saw Sengoku was determined, he reluctantly agreed to his resignation. He temporarily assumed the position of Inspector General of the Marines and recommended a candidate for the next Fleet Admiral.
Sengoku didn’t think too much about it at the time, but the methods of Sakazuki and Sakazuki’s determination to become Fleet Admiral were too extreme. Nevertheless, he underestimated the higher-ups and Sakazuki’s determination to become Fleet Admiral!
After recovering from his injuries, Sengoku bypassed Kong and went straight to the Five Elders. After some negotiations, the Five Elders decided to make Sakazuki the Fleet Admiral. Originally, Sengoku wasn’t concerned about this matter, but when the two men didn’t get along and had different beliefs, they fought, and their final battle took place in Punk Hazard.
A battle lasting ten days and nights, the clash of Paramecia Devil Fruit abilities, and the battle between the two most powerful Marines had changed the climate of the island. Half-ice, half-fire, the environment would remain unchanged for decades.
Kuzan suffered extensive burns on the right side of his body, lost one leg, lay on the ice, and his Marine uniform was in tatters.
On the other hand, Sakazuki didn’t fare much better. He had numerous frostbite injuries, a damaged ear, and the Lava Devil Fruit power had given him the upper hand in the battle against Kuzan. He said, “??…?” Suddenly, he turned around, and there was an extra figure on the ice.
His pupils shrank, “Rodney?! Why are you here?”
“Calm down, Admiral Sakazuki,” Rodney replied. “This is just one of my clones. I can’t beat you.”
He said these words, but Sakazuki didn’t dare to let his guard down. He had fought Kuzan for ten days and nights, with neither gaining the upper hand, and in the end, the advantage of Devil Fruit abilities had allowed Sakazuki to win. However, his body had reached its limit, and fighting someone of the same caliber as Kuzan would bring him no benefit.
Now that Rodney had shown up…
Rodney stood in front of Kuzan. Despite their differing ideologies, they were fellow Admirals, and there was still a sense of camaraderie.
