I Will Become Hokage in One Piece - Chapter 225
Chapter 225: Admiral Sakazuki
Rodney smiled when he saw Sakazuki protecting Kuzan. He said, “I didn’t come here for you today; I came for Admiral Kuzan. Rest assured, my relationship with him is still good.”
Sakazuki fell silent for a moment. It was widely known among the higher-ups that Rodney had a good relationship with Kuzan. This might explain why Kuzan lost to Rodney; this bastard let the Marines be embarrassed! He thought, and his arm turned into magma, emitting black smoke.
“Hey hey hey, I already said I’m not here for a fight. I came to save people.” Rodney jumped down and bypassed Sakazuki. His speed was so fast that Sakazuki, who was nearing his physical limits, couldn’t react in time.
When he came to his senses, Rodney was already by Kuzan’s side. Rodney clucked his tongue and said, “Really unlucky. You took quite a beating.” Green medical chakra radiated from his hand, and he began treating Kuzan’s leg.
The part of Kuzan’s left leg that had been severed wasn’t so much severed as it was melted away by the magma. It was the most severe of Kuzan’s injuries, so Rodney decided to amputate it. Keeping it would only lead to necrosis, and he was better off without it.
After staunching the bleeding and stimulating cell regeneration with Chakra no Makimono, Rodney started treating the burns.
“Admiral Kizaru called me a monster, but you admirals are the real monsters, aren’t you?” Warlord tossed a cigar to Sakazuki and said, “Your bodies are too strong, don’t you think? Even with these injuries, it would take me quite some time to recover. How can you guys heal so quickly?”
In terms of external injuries, Kuzan’s body was already showing signs of recovery thanks to the stimulation from Chakra no Makimono. However, his injuries were quite severe, and he was still unconscious.
Sakazuki remained silent as he lit his cigar. He suddenly asked, “How did you get in here? Marine guards patrol around Punk Hazard.”
“Ah? That?” Rodney replied nonchalantly, “They couldn’t detect me. You should know that.”
Sakazuki suddenly recalled that the intel on Rodney mentioned his exceptional stealth skills. He could easily infiltrate places like Mariejois or even Mary Geoise. This was one of the reasons his bounty was so high. Compared to Dragon or the Yonko, many considered Rodney to be the biggest threat to the World Government.
Before, he was a Shichibukai, so they couldn’t act against him. But now…
Sakazuki took a puff of his cigar, and then… his eyes rolled back, and he collapsed.
Rodney chuckled, “Leiju spiked his cigar with a powerful tranquilizer. Originally, it shouldn’t have affected him, but now, fatigued and weakened, combined with the tranquilizer’s effects… well, you see the result.”
“Wake up, wake up, Admiral Kuzan. I know you’re awake. Stop pretending,” Rodney patted Kuzan. Kuzan, who had been ‘unconscious’, woke up. He was in pain and asked, “You didn’t come here just to heal me, did you?”
“Of course, I did. Surprise, surprise! Touched, aren’t you?” Rodney teased. “But don’t move, it hurts.”
“I can’t move anyway, it hurts,” Kuzan replied with a wry smile. He suddenly asked, “What’s the situation with him?” He pointed to the unconscious Sakazuki.
“He smoked the cigar I gave him, and it had a tranquilizer in it. Originally, it shouldn’t have worked on him, but now, fatigued and weakened… well, you see the result.”
“Green Bull called me a monster, but you admirals are the real monsters, aren’t you?” Warlord tossed a cigar to Sakazuki and said, “Your bodies are too strong, don’t you think? Even with these injuries, it would take me quite some time to recover. How can you guys heal so quickly?”
Kuzan used his ice powers to create a new leg to replace the one he had lost. It wasn’t as mobile, but it served its purpose. It was enough for him.
As he stood up, Rodney suddenly asked, “Are you planning to leave the Marines?”
Kuzan hesitated for a moment, then nodded. His ideals didn’t align with Sakazuki’s, and working under him would be unbearable.
“What do you say? Do you want to work under me? I need a head of security for my Availton organization. We can discuss the terms. Good pay, benefits, vacation days, housing, and gifts on holidays. How about it?” Rodney extended an olive branch.
“Ah, tempting offer,” Kuzan admitted. “I’ll consider it. By the way, did you come here just for me?”
Rodney shrugged, “Who do you think you are? I came because it was on my way. I have other things to attend to. Negotiable terms, as long as you join.”
Crack!
His shadow clones disappeared. Kuzan continued to lie on the ground. “I’m exhausted. When was the last time I fought like this?”
He coughed, feeling weak, and soon fell into a deep sleep. Sakazuki and Kuzan slept for two days and were eventually found by Marines, who brought them back to Marineford.
Sakazuki emerged as the victor and became the Fleet Admiral. Kuzan resigned, and although Sakazuki initially tried to persuade him to stay, Kuzan had no intention of doing so. He didn’t want to work under Sakazuki, especially with their differing ideals.
With Kuzan’s resignation, two of the Marines’ three Admirals were gone, leaving only Borsalino. However, Borsalino alone wasn’t enough, as he lacked the strength to fill the void left by Kuzan and Sakazuki. As a result, in collaboration with the Five Elders, Sakazuki initiated a worldwide recruitment drive for the Marines.
The world erupted in response. Countless powerful individuals gathered at Marineford. Among them was One-Smiled Perona, who had been traveling for a long time.
In the end, the newly appointed Admirals were Green Bull and Fujitora.
Availton
Rodney looked at the newspaper and muttered, “What’s Green Bull’s real name? I’ve taken down Aokiji, so who the hell is this guy?”
Beside him, a man with a spotted hat asked, “Why are you so interested in this strange place?”
“It’s important,” Rodney replied. “By the way, Telpharga Law, how’s the analysis of the Pillar Cell going?” He had allocated many shadow clones for this specific task – to find Telpharga Law and leverage his surgery fruit power to implant the Pillar Cells into himself.
Telpharga Law considered the question and said, “The Pillar Cell you gave me has incredible devouring capabilities and contains rare vitality. There’s also a strange energy within it. For now, I can only determine that the energy originates from the
cells themselves. Where did you get it?”
“It’s just a part of someone’s body. Can you transplant it into me?”
“It’s possible, but there’s a high chance that the Pillar Cell will consume your body. Achieving a balance will be very difficult.” Law’s research on Pillar Cells was limited due to time constraints.
“No worries, I just didn’t want to do it myself. If not, I would have done it directly,” Rodney said with a smirk.
