I Will Become Hokage in One Piece - Chapter 226
Chapter 226: Transplanting Pillar Cells
Pillar Cells were the bodily cells of Hashirama Senju, the First Hokage. As the reincarnation of Ashura, one of the Sons of the Six Paths, Hashirama possessed the power of the Sage, which had enabled Madara Uchiha to awaken the Rinnegan and allowed Tobirama Senju to use the Sharingan without side effects. However, Pillar Cells were highly rejecting, and a slight misstep during transplantation could be fatal.
Therefore, Rodney sought out Law to have the Pillar Cells transplanted into himself.
Ignoring the issue of rejection for now, they focused on other matters, such as preventing his Sharingan from losing its light. His eyes were already showing signs of nearsightedness, and excessive use of the Mangekyou Sharingan would gradually lead its user into the depths of darkness, culminating in death.
So, the Mangekyou Sharingan was a bit of a double-edged sword!
Law’s surgical fruit powers were quite convenient, and for him, this minor transplant wasn’t a time-consuming procedure. With a few motions, he completed it. He stayed by Rodney’s side, waiting quietly for signs of rejection to appear.
As expected, rejection symptoms did eventually arise. Sharingan continuously cycled between the Three-Tomoe and Mangekyou Sharingan in Rodney’s eyes, causing him immense pain.
Furthermore, the transplanted Pillar Cells, represented by a small white spot, began spreading and devouring Rodney’s cells, extending outward.
“Ugh! Damn it! You shouldn’t mess with things that are already dead! Who do you think I am?” Rodney roared, concentrating his chakra to suppress the Pillar Cells.
The spread of the white spot slowed significantly but continued to expand its territory. Rodney and the Pillar Cells engaged in a tug-of-war!
The outcome of this battle remained uncertain; the Pillar Cells’ assimilation power exceeded Rodney’s expectations, seeming a bit too strong…
Furrowing his brows, Rodney wondered if his research had been insufficient. Rejection reactions shouldn’t have been this severe, according to his studies.
With a snort, he moved his hand, ready to extract the Pillar Cells.
However, Rodney stopped him. Struggling to his feet and enduring the pain, he emitted a low growl. A tender sprout grew on the left hand where the cells were transplanted.
Rodney hadn’t expected the Pillar Cells’ abilities to be this powerful; they seemed somewhat uncontrollable.
“Hey, Rodney-sama, are you okay?” Law asked.
“I’m fine; I’ve got it under control!” Rodney controlled the flow of chakra and struck at the area containing the Pillar Cells, causing the sprout to drop to the ground.
“Let me give it a try!” Law’s hands formed seals, fingers interlocking. “Wood Style: Great Forest Jutsu!”
Nothing happened…
Where was the Wood Style?
Rodney looked at him with a head full of question marks. Could it be that Rodney-sama had gone crazy?
Not entirely, Rodney was checking the system to see why he couldn’t use Wood Style. After a moment, he realized it wasn’t that he couldn’t use it; it was because he didn’t have enough Pillar Cells to use the more potent Wood Style techniques. But the Great Forest Jutsu wasn’t considered powerful!
Once again controlling the Pillar Cells, he used Wood Style, and as expected, a small tree grew from the ground. It grew at an astonishing rate, soon towering into a massive tree.
“So that’s how it’s used. But I guess I can’t use techniques like the Wood Golem or Wood Dragon for now. I’ll need to exchange more later on. Damn it, System.” Rodney suspected the System was responsible, but he had no evidence. After all, Madara could use Wood Style, and he had Hashirama’s face on his chest!
He loved him; that’s why he kept him close!
The atmosphere lightened.
Trafalgar Law, originally training with Zoro, now watched Rodney closely. “Rodney, thank you. I owe you a favor, and I’ll help you deal with Doflamingo.”
Rodney’s expression froze, and he vehemently denied, “I have no intention of dealing with Doflamingo.”
“Hahaha, alright, alright, I’ll deal with him myself. Within a year and a half at the latest, I’ll go after him.” Rodney knew he needed to continue his training during this time, further enhancing his abilities. He also needed to develop his own ninja techniques; he just wasn’t sure what he could create.
Rodney adjusted his hat. Based on the information he had, Rodney and Doflamingo had a mutually beneficial relationship, which wasn’t exactly great. In other words, it was exploitable, right?
Either way, it seemed this guy had intentions of dealing with Doflamingo, but Rodney wasn’t about to put his hopes on an uncertain character.
“Go for it, young man!”
With a hearty laugh, Rodney was in a good mood. He treated the Straw Hat Pirates to a few days of fun, covering all their expenses. As they left, he gifted them several crates of weapons and a ton of ammunition!
Sanji’s training continued, and the weights he carried became increasingly heavy. To motivate him, Rodney borrowed a swimsuit magazine from Brook and hung it from a fishing rod, dangling it just above Sanji’s head as he trained, providing him with some extra incentive to keep moving forward.
Time passed quickly, and during this period, the new Shichibukai were revealed. Rodney used a bunch of pirate hearts to secure his position among them, replacing his previous role.
Buggy also gained recognition due to his live broadcast of the Summit War, taking Smoker’s former position. Another addition was a man claiming to be Whitebeard’s successor, Edward Weevil, who filled Blackbeard’s former role.
And as for Blackbeard?
He was currently bedridden inside a city, suffering from injuries inflicted by Shogun and Capone. His injuries weren’t easy to recover from, and as for his crew, who knew how many had survived!
With that, the Shichibukai were complete. However, Edward Weevil’s entry had infuriated Zephyr, who had once had his arm severed by Weevil and had seen his entire class of students killed by him. After learning that Weevil had joined the Shichibukai, Zephyr began to question and distrust the Navy internally.
A few days ago, he left the Marines and established a new Marine organization called “NEO Marines,” with the goal of eradicating all pirates from the world.
Zephyr sailed the New World while Rodney, who had been training Sanji, suddenly received a newspaper from a News Coo.
“Bondy Wald? This guy just got out and is already causing trouble? He attacked a Celestial Dragon’s fleet? Which Celestial Dragon’s luck is that bad? Well, it’s not my concern.”
Suddenly, he noticed Bondy Wald’s bounty: a cool 500 million berries!
He was still a little short on berries!
“Sanji, keep up with your training. Let Robin and the others know I’m heading out to make some extra cash.”
