I Will Become Hokage in One Piece - Chapter 231
Chapter 231: Big Mom’s Tea Party
The next morning, Rodney left the Calm Belt on one of the Nine Snake’s ships. Hancock, for once, didn’t put on a sour face because Rodney had saved her two sisters. Letting him leave the Calm Belt was her way of repaying the favor.
Of course, expecting a narcissist like Rodney to say thank you was out of the question. The moment they exited the Calm Belt, Rodney was promptly kicked off the ship, making him feel like a criminal.
Standing on the undulating sea, he stepped on a Sea King that was about to eat him and, putting his foot on the Sea King’s head, he said, “Take me in that direction.”
The Sea King winced from the pain. Initially, it had wanted to resist, but after locking eyes with those red orbs, it lost all will and became an emotionless transportation.
After several days of travel, Rodney returned to Avleyton. However, Robin quickly sought him out, wearing an uncharacteristically grave expression. She said, “We have an unexpected visitor.”
“Who? Someone from Big Mom’s Pirate Crew? Or should I say, Charlotte Family’s second son, Charlotte Katakuri!”
“Katakuri? What is he here for?” Rodney furrowed his brow.
Robin explained, “He arrived in Avleyton three days ago and asked for you. Because you weren’t here, he didn’t say a word and has been staying on his ship ever since.”
Rodney’s frown deepened. What could this mean? Why would someone from Big Mom’s crew want to find him? Especially Katakuri, with his Future Sight Haki, he was not someone to be taken lightly.
“I see. Looks like I need to check it out myself. Did anyone else interact with Katakuri besides you?”
Robin shook her head, looking worried. Their strength was not enough to confront a Yonko’s crew head-on.
Rodney pinched her nose, pulled her close, and said with a smile, “Don’t worry. As long as I’m here, nothing will happen. This is my territory, and I make the rules.”
“Really, I was talking about serious matters.”
“I am talking about something serious.” He lowered his head, taking in the scent of Robin’s hair, and couldn’t resist tasting her soft lips.
“Captain, um…” It was hard to believe he was discussing serious matters.
After some symbolic resistance, Robin did not push Rodney away; instead, she embraced him clumsily. Both of them cherished this moment.
After a while, their lips parted.
“Hehehe.” Blushing, Robin tried to struggle out of his embrace, but she couldn’t escape. She said, “You should go now. A visit from someone from Big Mom’s crew is trouble.”
“Alright, since Avleyton’s boss has spoken, how can I not act?” Rodney kissed her on the cheek and then swiftly departed, fearing retribution from Robin.
“Hmph! That scoundrel!” Robin muttered, blushing. She touched her cheek and her lips, remembering the “scoundrel.” Intelligent Robin became like a young girl in love.
By the seaside, a cake-like ship docked in the harbor, flying the black flag of Big Mom’s Pirate Crew. The homies, humanoid creatures created from human souls by Big Mom’s Devil Fruit ability, patrolled the ship.
These homies were created using the souls of ordinary people from various countries. They had human behavior and retained some memories from their previous lives. Apart from their unique bodies, they were indistinguishable from humans. Advanced homies had impressive combat capabilities.
These beings were similar to Moria’s zombies created with the Shadow-Shadow Fruit but had the advantage of not requiring a corpse to inhabit. They just needed a portion of an animal or plant’s soul to be created.
“Who goes there?” A tall man emerged and stopped the homies’ actions.
The man had short deep pink hair, scars on both sides of his face, piercing eyes, and most of his face was concealed by a thick scarf. He wore a vest on his upper body, with pink tattoos on his left arm and left torso, and a pair of long, slender legs clad in spiked black boots with spurs. He exuded a terrifying aura just standing there.
Charlotte Family’s second son, Minister of Flour, Charlotte Katakuri, with a bounty of 1,057,000,000 Beli!
“You’ve finally returned, Jostrad J. Rodney,” Katakuri’s voice was cold and distant, and his presence was intimidating. He pulled a piece of paper from his pocket and tossed it over like a throwing knife.
Rodney caught it and opened it, but what was this? It looked like a child’s doodle, completely devoid of any artistic sense.
Katakuri said, “Mother’s Tea Party. You’re invited. It’s happening in half a month, and you must attend.”
Big Mom’s Tea Parties were not optional. If you were invited and failed to attend or were even slightly late, you would incur the wrath of Big Mom’s Pirate Crew. The woman was not easy to deal with.
“Alright, alright. Wait for me for a while. I’ll come with you directly. By the way, you don’t mind if I bring a few of my crew members, do you?”
“Suit yourself, as long as you come.”
Rodney had no choice; he couldn’t make waves in Big Mom’s territory. Bringing a few crew members along was acceptable.
