I’m In Charge of SCP - Chapter 275
It must be your enemy if there is someone in this world who knows you better than you know yourself. Saarn, the creator of the Sarkic Cult, has extensively researched both the Broken God and Robert Bumaro.
He was well aware of the methods the Broken God used to imprison Yaldabaoth. If he encountered the same trick and had an answer, he frequently considered how to defeat it before ascending to the gods. Saarn did not worry when he realized the “silver net” was his own thrust; instead, he focused on the peace and then rose into the air to take a seat.
He raised the scepter in his hand and slowly recited, “My believers, give me your power!”
It appeared as though all of the Sarkic Cult’s adherents were aware of it at that very moment but remained still. Not just them, but also the other two members of the Sarkic Cult’s Four Saints were impacted.
The vampires and worms in the Hoya Forest all wilted and died, while Europe’s Rava Tower beneath the Balkan Peninsula dozed off. The Cyclops Orok, who was battling the GOC in southern Siberia, abruptly stopped moving and changed into rock.
After congregating with their souls on Lake Baikal’s beaches, they formed Saarn’s scepter. Saarn focused all of the Sarkic Cult’s power on himself at this precise time. It was similar to the main character in innumerable films and plays. His strength increased dramatically in an instant.
“Bumaro! I’ll see how you can fight with me!”
The scepter in his hand changed into a red sword as he let out a ferocious roar. The sword had a deadly serpent spouting venom at its point. He used his sword to slay people as he faced the silver net that enveloped the sky.
Even though Bumaro, who was already in horrible shape, realized it was bad, there was no turning back. A brilliant light was produced when the silver net and the red sword energy collided in the air. It like a different sun. This light illuminated the entirety of Arcadia and even the Lake Baikal shoreline.
……
6:40 AM was the time. The three teams moved forward together since Yang Xue and Smith had already gathered in one location. After a night of hiking, they had had traveled a few dozen kilometers and were now at a safe distance from Arcadia City.
They moved slowly due to the hilly road. However, there were just a few monster attacks along the route, and according to Advisor Zhang, the majority of the pursuers were stopped.
Now that daylight had arrived, the fog was gradually vanishing. The MTF team members appeared to be in good health, but the patients and researchers seemed down.
They have almost reached their breaking point after a night of marching due to the combination of physical discomfort and mental stress. Now, even the strength to speak a word is not present, exactly as walking corpses normally advance.
Yang Xue looked at them and came to Smith’s side, “Captain Smith, let’s find a place to recuperate.”
Smith looked around at how everyone was doing, gave it some thought, and nodded. After placing the patients inside a makeshift tent beside the creek, the MTF team finished setting it up ten minutes later. There was no fire created, and everyone took turns eating.
To plan the following defenses, the three captains and Yang Xue got together. Smith used the map and compass to project their current location.
“Without any surprises, our route indicates that we can get at Balkan between 1:00 and 2:00 PM. We still need to deploy two team members to do front and back recon even if we haven’t seen the enemy in a while, just in case.”
The Smith and Black Pearl squad are experts in jungle battle and wilderness running, thus the two commanders of Strang and Kenneth have no issues. The four men exchanged a few brief words before going silent. They are aware that they are currently faced with a challenging practical issue.
They were far from Arcadia City, safe, and all of their communication equipment had returned to normal, but it was up to them whether or not to let the Foundation know where they were and how they were doing.
However, a number of people have made an unspoken pact not to bring up this issue. They are currently too close to the city of Arcadia, so if Angelo suddenly pulled off and allowed them to return, everything would be lost.
After some experience, they have developed doubts about the Foundation, just as old Smith. Although it is correct that the Foundation’s overall goal is to save humanity against aggression, certain individuals’ particular choices actually encourage people to fall in love.
They all believed that they would wait until they got to Balkan City before deciding whether or not to tell the Foundation, even though some people didn’t say it out loud.
After a long silence, Kenneth sighed and looked in the direction of Arcadia City. “I wonder how Advisor Zhang is doing now.”
He and Strang were really concerned about this. Zhang Jue claimed that he would follow the main force after the chasing enemy were exterminated, but he was nowhere to be found right now.
However, neither Yang Xue nor Smith brought up this issue; instead, they both just carried out the plan and ordered the crowd to disperse. Even though Kenneth was sighing, he continued to glance at the two of them in an effort to elicit a response.
Yang Xue had long known that Zhang Jue would not return. She inclined her head and clenched her fist slightly, “Don’t mind him.”
Smith also said, “Advisor Zhang’s strength is unfathomable, and he has instructed that we just need to finish our mission.”
Kenneth and Strang asked no further questions after these two made their statement. After a brief period of repose, the throng was about to disperse when, out of nowhere, a vision toward Arcadia City materialized.
A brilliant light that even eclipsed the sun suddenly arose in the sky.
“What’s going on?”
“Quick, hide!”
The people scurried for safety. Kenneth put on the MTF specialized goggles after pulling them out and scanning the sky. A huge net and a long, thin thread eventually entwined in the line of sight when the blinding light was blocked out.
They tangled and smashed against one another, exploding forth with powerful energy. Kenneth was perplexed. Although they were now many miles from the city of Arcadia, the vision in the sky was so distinct that if they had been close by, they must have been instantly reduced to powder.
He was unaware that there was a conflict between two gods, but if Advisor Zhang was still present, it was undoubtedly fierce. Smith, Yang Xue, and the others all put on their sunglasses. We were shocked as we observed the scene in the distance.
Even though they have spent their entire lives dealing with various oddities, they have never experienced combat on this scale. Although they were unaware of the true identities of the opposing factions, they had a gut feeling that the outcome of this conflict would have a significant impact on the course of the entire event.
Everyone watched intently as they awaited the outcome. just after five minutes. The sky’s silvery net snapped.
