In Marvel, People are Kamen Rider - Chapter 42
“Stop arguing! The Director has sent an order for us to retreat first!”
While Clint and Garrett were arguing incessantly, Natasha interrupted their conversation.
The scene was incredibly chaotic, and the special agent squad, initially maintaining a unique formation, was completely ambushed after the Lokis saw through their formation, facing enemies on all sides.
As the overall commander of this operation, Nick Fury issued the order to retreat temporarily.
“But Director, there are still some recruits missing inside!”
Melinda was anxious, primarily concerned about Fitz and Jemma.
“Execute the order!”
Nick Fury’s emphatic tone underscored his resolve.
Even though everyone was reluctant, they had no choice but to retreat while fighting, heading towards the direction of the stairs.
Fortunately, after focusing their firepower, the Lokis also dared to avoid advancing randomly. After losing three more agents, the group finally retreated to the stairwell.
Seeing the agents retreat, the Lokis did not pursue.
“Damn it!” After retreating, Clint fiercely punched the wall.
Eleven recruits had initially lost two.
In the recent battle, three more were lost, leaving only two of the six with them, while the other four had been scattered by the Lokis’ attack during the counter-ambush.
This was a clear dereliction of duty.
“Only twenty-seven people left! Damn it, Lokis are adamant to deal with!”
Garrett was counting the numbers, cursing under his breath.
They had brought a total of 50 people on this mission, and now twenty-three had died.
Moreover, the two Lokis they had just captured had been rescued.
This meant there needed to be more progress.
“What now? We can’t remove the gas masks; the enemy controls the main ventilation ducts, and we don’t know if they’ve released toxins.”
Natasha remained calm, contemplating their next move.
“At this rate, we’re no match for the Lokis; we can only have Fury call for backup.”
Garrett’s expression was bleak.
He hadn’t expected the Hydra Academy to train such formidable adversaries.
“Agent Hand has already brought support from Sitwell.”
Melinda opened her wrist computer, displaying the scene of Agent Hand and Sitwell leading a group of agents into the quarantine area.
“They’ve brought rocket launchers and high explosives; they’re not planning to keep the top floors.”
Watching Agent Hand and others’ equipment, everyone’s eyes lifted slightly.
Without a doubt, Agent Hand didn’t care about the integrity of her territory, only wanting to resolve the Lokis quickly.
“Nick Fury’s underlings, I’ve seen enough, you step back!”
Agent Hand quickly arrived in front of the group.
She glanced at Clint and others, said nothing, and ordered her subordinates to set up the heavy equipment.
“I don’t want this floor or the top floor; Fury will pay for the repairs anyway.”
Hand’s face was resolute and frosty, her crimson lips parted to utter coldly:
“Fire!”
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh! Rockets were fired immediately, rapidly bombarding the top floor’s corridors.
Then, the high explosives were launched, intensifying the explosion.
Boom! The entire top floor was suddenly engulfed in flames and shockwaves!
It seemed Agent Hand not only intended to take the lives of the Lokis but was also unconcerned about sparing the lives of recruits like Fitz and Jemma.
One after another, Lokis’ figures flashed through the flames.
The walls were directly blown apart, and the entire hub base shook.
The entire top floor’s ceiling and floor were blasted open, and it was even evident to everyone that some Lokis were turned to ash in the explosion.
Agent Hand did not cease her actions but instead ordered the continued bombing. She intended to sacrifice those two floors.
“Agent Hand, really…”
Meanwhile, in the great hall.
Agent Coulson and Agent Blake were guarding the battlefield.
Watching Agent Hand coldly give the order to bomb their base, both were somewhat astonished.
“She’s a real Ice Queen! No wonder no one dares to pursue her!”
Blake teased, then looked at Coulson with a mischievous grin:
“What about it, Coulson? Are you interested in her? You two would match well, one straightforward, the other utterly ruthless.”
“Don’t talk like that; I’m not worthy of Hand!”
Coulson grimaced, saying:
“I should just focus on my work.”
“What about that cellist from last time? You saved her, and she hasn’t lost interest in you?”
Blake waggled his eyebrows.
“It was a cello!!”
Coulson corrected Blake, then said helplessly:
“I left her, and I erased her memory. It’s too dangerous for her to be with me.”
Coulson’s eyes hinted at nostalgia, clearly not over his ex-girlfriend.
“Ah, the life of a spy, it’s unavoidable. My wife and daughter still think I work for the Senate.”
Blake shook his head.
The two casually chatted, unaware that danger was approaching.
S.H.I.E.L.D.’s central hub was a battlefield, and an unexpected group had arrived outside.
“See that? That’s our target!”
Robert, assigned to mentor three new Orphics, pointed towards the S.H.I.E.L.D. base.
“What are we going to do? There are so many armed people there!”
The girl looked at the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents guarding the gate, clearly panicked.
Even though she had become an Orphic, she was still fearful of firearms and had not yet fully transitioned from human to Orphic.
“We’re going to eliminate them!”
Before Robert could speak, a man with golden, short hair next to him smirked.
Besides Robert leading three newbies, this support mission included two other Orphans.
“Watch closely, rookies!”
Robert and the blond man exchanged glances and walked boldly towards the S.H.I.E.L.D. base entrance.
“What are you doing?”
“This is a military zone, leave immediately!”
The S.H.I.E.L.D. agents spotted their approach and sternly told them to leave.
“Hmph!”
Robert and the blond man quickly transformed into their Orphic forms.
Robert turned into a Squid Orphic, spraying a large amount of black ink at the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and infusing it with Orphic energy.
The blond man, now a Scarab Orphic, used his sword capable of piercing fifty centimeters of steel to impale the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, infusing them with Orphic energy.
The entire process left the three new Orphics in shock.
