Kamen Rider Marvel - Chapter 293
Coulson returned to average speed. Tendo Souji, observing from the side, seemed unsurprised. “As expected, everything went exactly as I thought it would.”
Coulson hurried over to Captain Rogers, lying on the ground, and asked, “Captain Rogers, are you alright?”
Steve Rogers chuckled. “I lost.”
Coulson extended his hand and helped Steve up. Steve stood, gently twisting his waist. “My old back! But Coulson, you did a great job.”
Coulson beamed with pride at his idol’s compliment. Nick Fury approached, smiling. “So, Captain Rogers, what do you think of our current technology?”
Steve nodded lightly. “It’s imposing. Director Fury, I take back what I said earlier. I was too hasty in my judgment.”
Nick Fury laughed heartily. “I’m glad to hear that, Captain Rogers. Are you interested in these suits?”
Steve nodded. “Very much so.”
“Once we develop the new Kabuto series belts, you’ll be the first to get one,” Nick Fury promised.
Captain Rogers was slightly surprised, raising his hand to point at himself. “Me? I’ll have one, too?”
“Of course, Captain. We’d be honored to develop a belt for you,” Nick assured him.
Steve smiled. “Thank you. But for now, I need to rest… My old back!” He said, rubbing his lower back as he slowly made his way to his quarters.
Coulson watched, feeling guilty. After all, Steve Rogers was essentially a super-soldier, fundamentally different from a Kamen Rider. Coulson regretted not holding back during their sparring match.
A cave could be found in the depths of a South American jungle. Its formation suggested it wasn’t natural but rather the result of human activity, dating back thousands of years.
Numerous archaeologists were busy excavating the mysterious ruins at the cave’s entrance and inside. They had uncovered a massive stone coffin adorned with intricate hieroglyphs.
The team was astonished by the discovery. “I can’t believe we’ve found such ancient artifacts in South America. This could rewrite history!” one exclaimed.
Another added, “Yes, I wonder who or what is inside this coffin?”
Due to its immense weight, they had to rely on machinery to lift the stone lid. Cameras were set up to record the momentous event. “Everyone, prepare to lift the lid,” the lead archaeologist instructed.
Steel cables wrapped around the stone coffin lid, and as the machinery whirred, the lid slowly lifted, revealing the contents within. Inside was a well-preserved ancient corpse, dried out from the lack of moisture but remarkably intact. A belt with hieroglyphic carvings was most intriguingly wrapped around the corpse’s waist.
One archaeologist joked, “Could these hieroglyphs be some kind of curse warning us not to disturb the tomb?”
The atmosphere lightened, but one archaeologist reached for the belt as the team began their examination. The moment he touched it, the corpse’s hand shot up and grabbed his wrist. He screamed and fell back, inadvertently pulling the belt off.
The corpse, animated by some unknown force, tried to retrieve its belt but disintegrated into dust with the effort. The entire team was stunned, frozen in fear.
Eventually, someone suggested, “We need to send this belt back to our country for further study.”
As they began to discuss logistics, a terrifying roar echoed from deeper within the cave. Everyone looked around in panic, trying to locate the source of the sound. In the darkness, a pair of glowing eyes appeared.
“What’s that?” someone shouted.
A grotesque figure emerged from the shadows, causing the team to flee in terror. The lead archaeologist, injured and bleeding, stumbled toward the cave entrance. Just as he was about to escape, he tripped, and a monstrous hand grabbed his ankle, dragging him back into the darkness. His screams echoed, then abruptly stopped.
A recording camera captured the entire grisly scene.
In Nick Fury’s office at S.H.I.E.L.D., he received a distressing phone call. “Director, there’s trouble. The archaeological team you sponsored in South America has been attacked. They sent a distress call mentioning monsters before the line went dead.”
Fury’s brows furrowed. “Understood. I’ll handle it.”
He hung up and immediately made another call. “Codename 132, deploy.”
Two hours later, several helicopters arrived at the site. Heavily armed agents disembarked and cautiously approached the cave. Inside, they found a scene of carnage—blood, dismembered bodies, and scattered organs.
One agent found a belt and a camera amidst the chaos. Playing the footage, his face turned pale as he watched the horrifying events unfold.
