Kurumi Tokisaki's Planar Journey - Chapter 466
Even when wrapped in Invisible Air, the swift swing of Excalibur’s blade produced a fierce white light.
One by one, the monsters were cleaved in half, their crimson blood flowing onto the ground, absorbed by the roots buried deep below.
Whether these child-turned-monsters would harbor grudges after death was unknown.
The range of Excalibur’s swings gradually lessened as Saber’s offensive capability shrank.
When the monsters were split in two, they became separate entities. With Caster’s Noble Phantasm empowering them, ample magical energy allowed the monsters to grow and form quickly.
Saber bit her lip, her left hand struggling to grip the sword’s hilt, her tendons injured, and the pain in her nerves hampering her strength.
Caster clutched the “Prelati’s Spellbook” in his hand; a Noble Phantasm made from human skin that made Kurumi extremely uncomfortable.
The density of its magical energy reached an incredible level!
After taking a deep breath, Saber’s sword dance quickened, but the monsters split faster.
With her emerald eyes narrowed, Saber searched for a breakthrough point. As long as she could get close to Caster, the crisis would naturally be resolved!
Recalling Kurumi, Saber was sure that not every mage could excel in close combat like her.
“Swish!—”
The sword’s blade stirred the air, but Saber didn’t attack; instead, the monsters couldn’t hold back!
The blade easily sliced through the monsters’ tentacles, with blood spraying from the wounds.
Saber could no longer evade effectively like before.
There were just too many monsters around her!
Crimson blood splashed on Saber’s skirt armor, but it seemed to have no harmful effect.
At least it wasn’t corrosive, which made Saber slightly relieved.
“Swish!—”
Saber’s eyes narrowed slightly as Excalibur quickly blocked an attack!
Suddenly, numerous monsters extended their tentacles toward Saber simultaneously!
In an instant, the longsword shredded nearly ten tentacles!
But then, the remaining monsters successfully grabbed Saber!
Saber struggled to cope as the tentacles wrapped around her waist, rapidly extending towards her chest armor, seemingly trying to envelop her entirely!
Such a scene always reminded Kurumi of those 18+ game images. Although bloody and repulsive, it might still appeal to certain extraordinary crowds.
“Ah~” Caster’s expression was slightly intoxicated, “My noble and beautiful Holy Maiden! You must return to me. It was the gods who deceived you! You have been toyed with by the vile gods! I must rescue you; I must rescue you!”
Caster’s expression turned from intoxicated to agitated, even slightly mad!
His eyes bulged with blood vessels, whether from genuine emotion or a about of insanity.
Saber bit her lip, her entire body except for her head bound, even Excalibur entangled in tentacles.
A thick layer of tentacles wrapped around it, much tighter than elsewhere.
“Caster, you’re insane!”
“What did you say?” Caster looked incredulous, “My noble Holy Maiden, all this was brought by the Holy Grail! It’s the Holy Grail! Who else but it could have the power to bring you to me? Though you seem to have lost some memories, that’s alright! It’s the gods’ doing, the vile gods who don’t care about you!”
“This war no longer matters; the Holy Grail has chosen me. Now, I just need to awaken your memories.”
“How could the Holy Grail choose someone like you!”
Saber’s face was grim, her body wrapped in slippery tentacles, an unpleasant sensation.
Especially her left wrist, the severed tendons continuously stimulating her nerves, causing a mild numbness throughout her body.
“Don’t be delusional! Harm ordinary beings, someone like you…”
“Someone like me? What’s wrong with someone like me?!” Caster suddenly raged. “Everything I’ve done was for you! Jeanne, you don’t know anything! They have always played you! It’s me! Only I can save you from the mire!”
“Stop being stubborn! I’ll use magic to wake you up forcibly; then you’ll understand me and everything I’ve done for you!”
Under Caster’s emotional manipulation, the tentacles tightened, causing Saber pain. Her magical energy surged; she couldn’t go on like this; she needed to break free!
Many magical energy was mobilized, and the Invisible Air around Excalibur expanded several times!
The magic power acted like blades, constantly cutting through the tentacles!
And the black-purple tentacles began to “swell.”
In Caster’s incredulous eyes, they inflated like “balloons!”
“Boom!”
Blood and flesh scattered, red liquid splattering the trees, while Saber’s blue skirt armor was cleansed by the magical energy, becoming spotless!
“Caster! Today, you will stay here and repent for the lives of those innocent children!”
Upon hearing this, Caster’s already prominent eyes seemed to widen further.
“Jeanne, I did all this for you! Why won’t you wake up?!”
“It’s you who needs to wake up!”
Caster gave a sinister smile, “But you’re the one who killed those children.”
Saber paused, about to advance with her sword, then reacted angrily, “Caster, your tricks are no match for a certain witch!”
“Is that so? My dear Jeanne! Come with me!”
The monsters around Saber went berserk again, numerous tentacles attacking her unexpectedly!
Sword light and severed limbs dominated the forest. Red liquid splashed everywhere, dyeing the surrounding trees dark red.
In the mist and dim light, the place… seemed even more eerie.
“Swish~”
Tentacles were cut, and monsters were cleaved in half, but with “Prelati’s Spellbook”’s support, these monsters kept regenerating. They didn’t tire or fear death, making them the perfect war machines!
“Boom!”
A considerable tentacle struck Saber’s abdomen. Enduring the pain, she easily split it in half with Excalibur.
But the longsword was a two-handed sword; even with ample magic, Saber couldn’t wield it to its full potential.
Soon, Saber was entangled again, her magic and stamina draining, her fair face paling slightly.
In hiding in an untainted part of the forest, Kurumi wondered, “Why hasn’t Lancer arrived yet?”
“Master, he seems to have encountered some trouble.”
“Hmm?”
“Someone from the Clock Tower seems to have arrived, and Kayneth is still on his way.”
“So, I have to act?”
“Not at all.” Red Queen blinked her big eyes, looking expectant, “You still have me!”
Kurumi rolled her eyes. “Forget it. Just control ‘Nightmare’. Who knows what chaos you might cause?”
“Aw, ~” Red Queen pouted, glancing at Saber.
The wounded Knight King girl was near exhaustion.
“Master, it seems someone wants to see you act.”
“Is that so?” Kurumi narrowed her eyes, spiritual power slowly swirling, “Which old ghost? Or does Alaya want to observe power from another dimension?”
Red Queen fell silent, “Both are possible.”
“It seems curiosity is something no consciousness lacks.”
“But sometimes, curiosity kills the cat~.”
“By the way, Master, your ‘Raikiri’ seems to have some special functions.”
Kurumi stepped forward, signaling Red Queen to continue.
“When wielding ‘Raikiri, seems to weaken enemy attacks, though the extent is limited.”
Kurumi nodded, recalling the Centipede King’s tail strike and noticing the surrounding sword aura.
“Also, when you infuse spiritual power, pay attention to the special energy source in ‘Raikiri’; synchronizing the spiritual power may yield unexpected results.”
“Is that so?”
Red Queen shrugged, “Based on calculations, yes, but I’m not certain. The two energy sources are different.”
“What about using a converter?”
“That hasn’t been tested, but it’s unlikely. Without ‘Raikiri’s’ energy substance, obtaining it requires disassembly.”
“Oh, and,” Red Queen pointed to Saber, “if you don’t assist, the main god might lower your final evaluation.”
Kurumi smirked, Red Queen’s calm demeanor leaving her speechless.
Kurumi lightly gripped the air, tiny lightning bolts appearing from the void, pulling out ‘Raikiri’!
Electric snakes danced on it. Was it Kurumi’s illusion? After infusing spiritual power, the small lightning bolts seemed more lively!
Adjusting the spiritual power fluctuations with her mental power, the energy waves quickly synchronized with ?Beta? level mental power!
Kurumi suddenly sensed the spiritual power being fully absorbed!
The lightning leaped up, the blade glowing brighter!
Suddenly, three “Raikiri” appeared around Kurumi’s waist, though they resembled virtual projections.
“Buzz!—”
On the battlefield, amidst Caster and Saber’s stunned expressions, the entangled Knight King girl’s waist sprouted spiritual blades like Kurumi’s.
The tentacles were easily severed, with little blood oozing as if they were charred by lightning!
“Crack~ Crack~”
The tentacles binding Saber were sliced by lightning-infused blades, charred black, barely recognizable!
Have they charred giant squid tentacles?
Kurumi frowned, her mind flooded with information!
Raikiri: A katana developed by ME Corp. The solid electromagnetic field from the hilt protects the wielder like a thunder queen’s shield.
‘Blade of Spiritual Protection’: Summons spiritual blades to protect all allies (including summons), boosting defense by 50% and inflicting 318 lightning damage every 0.25 seconds on enemies.
