Kurumi Tokisaki's Planar Journey - Chapter 474
The wind rose.
A massive surge of magical energy caused a gale to sweep through the courtyard! The plants rustled, and Irisviel’s white hair danced in the wind, as if foretelling something.
Weber, who had been sitting on a small path, felt a chill run down his spine. The surge of magical energy was beyond his imagination!
He turned his stiff neck and realized the darkness had “swallowed” the area behind him!
It was as if a monstrous creature had taken a bite out of the place!
“Gulp.”
His throat itched as he realized this dark, purple-glowing realm had a sort of pull! If he stayed there for long, he would undoubtedly be swallowed by it!
Who knew what lurked inside? Whatever it was, it couldn’t be anything good!
A scream rang out, and Weber scrambled to the side of the King of Conquerors, his heart pounding like a drum, refusing to calm down.
Iskandar turned around, downing the exquisite wine in his golden cup in one gulp!
“Impressive trick, witch!”
“Thank you for the compliment.”
“Clang!—”
He placed the cup on the ground with a heavy hand, all traces of his previous casual demeanor vanished.
He stared straight at Kurumi, “Witch, what exactly do you want?”
Kurumi’s lips curled into a slight smile. “As you can see, to eliminate Assassin.”
“The Holy Grail War does not belong to you.”
“But the Holy Grail War has no explicit rules against outsiders participating~”
“Can you state your purpose?”
Kurumi raised an eyebrow. “For pleasure?”
“Witch, even you are questioning your excuse.”
Gilgamesh’s golden hair was blown to one side by the wind, but he didn’t mind. Instead, he stared intently at Kurumi, sipping his wine. “It sounds like you’re similar to Kirei. But you are not.”
“Alright, as kings, there’s no need to discuss talent and ambition.”
Kurumi stood up, the wind blowing her twin tails loose, even her long bangs were blown askew.
She took a half-step back, closed her eyes, and lightly lifted her skirt. “Well then, kings, see you later.”
Her body turned into a stream of spiritual energy, rushing towards the “dark realm” Weber had described!
Weber’s teeth chattered. The surge of spiritual energy had brushed past him!
In his view, such power could quickly snuff out his fragile life without even trying.
Saber glanced at the dark sphere and frowned. “So, the witch’s true body has always been in there?”
“Indeed.” Iskandar poured another cup of wine, drank it in one gulp, and returned to his carefree state.
“But why does she want to kill Assassin?” Iskandar seemed indifferent as he picked up the wine jug again under the moonlight. “Or rather, why does she want to kill Heroic Spirits?”
‘Kill Heroic Spirits?’
Saber’s heart tightened, recalling the scene at the port that night.
“The church hasn’t said anything?”
“I don’t know.” Iskandar shrugged. “So far, there’s only been a message about pursuing Caster.”
“To be honest,” Iskandar shook his cup, looking at Kurumi’s previous spot where the untouched wine cup remained, “I thought the witch was Caster, but she gave us a big surprise.”
“Hey, golden guy, don’t just drink!” Iskandar pointed at the dark realm behind him. “Don’t you have any thoughts?”
“My consort is helping the king deal with some leftover pests. What’s the problem?”
“Uh…” Iskandar scratched his head. He seemed to particularly like this gesture.
“Indeed, talking to you is just as unpleasant as the witch said.”
Draining another cup of wine, he would have turned to look behind him if not for the presence of the other two ‘kings.’ To him, the dark sphere was far more interesting.
“Why hasn’t the witch come out yet? With her power, dealing with Assassin should be quite easy, right?”
Saber glanced at Iskandar. “You could try understanding her preferences.”
“Oh?”
Even Gilgamesh was intrigued, shifting his gaze from the dark realm to Saber, waiting for her explanation.
“She has a strong sense of amusement. While I don’t fully understand her, from her fighting style, she enjoys using the same weapons and tactics as her enemies.”
“This time,” Saber looked back at the dark realm behind Iskandar, “she’s likely competing in assassination techniques.”
“Which assassination method is superior?” Iskandar clicked his tongue. “What a pity we can’t watch.”
Inside the dark sphere, which Weber referred to as the dark realm, Kurumi replicated the framework of her City of Devouring Time.
However, it was just the surface. She could understand the more profound devouring laws but couldn’t comprehensively analyze them!
But even so, it was enough to trap Assassin.
The realm was pitch dark, with black and purple land and sky. Even the air seemed filled with black and purple mist.
Dozens of Assassins, holding blades, of various genders and ages, stood on guard!
They couldn’t even communicate with their Master!
This place was completely cut off from the outside world. They had no idea what their enemy looked like.
“Hey, you guys are assassins, right?”
A girl’s bell-like voice echoed from the void, and the Assassins gathered closer, unable to pinpoint the source despite the voice coming from all directions!
“The environment here won’t change, and your magical energy is sealed! It’s a game. Please, show off your skills to your heart’s content~”
“Otherwise, you’ll die with regrets~”
The girl’s initially enchanting voice turned terrifying in this place!
Even the experienced Assassins had to be cautious!
The Assassins formed small groups, knowing their enemy was the witch.
The witch’s power was undeniable, but as she said, they had a sliver of hope!
Trying to harness their meager internal magic, they found no response, as if it had vanished.
The Assassins gripped their blades tightly, their senses on high alert.
A few chose to hide in the darkness, using the black and purple mist as a natural shield.
Kurumi’s black dress, though slightly cumbersome, wasn’t much of a hindrance to her.
She pulled out the dwarven master’s prized dagger from her spatial pouch, holding it tightly.
In this environment, even Kurumi couldn’t sense the dagger!
The transparent blade danced in her delicate hand, visible only by the faint cuts it left in the black and purple mist.
A nearly sickly smile appeared on her face. She licked her lips, gripping the dagger in a reverse hold, and silently vanished into the mist.
She hadn’t exercised in a while. Finding worthy assassins excited her.
Her black boots made no sound on the ground. Kurumi’s breathing was steady, contained within a tight perimeter.
Even close by, it was hard to hear her heartbeat.
“Slash!—”
Three Assassins, upon hearing the sound, retreated. Another swung his blade without hesitation!
“Slash!”
Again, the blade easily pierced flesh!
The Assassin felt no joy. He had stabbed the wrong person!
Half-bent, blade across his chest, he couldn’t gauge the witch’s position.
Seeing this, the other two Assassins loosened their formation and cautiously vanished into the darkness.
For the first time, they felt the fear of an unknown enemy.
Two Assassins disappeared into the darkness, while the one remaining stayed tense, his arm muscles tight, ready to strike at the first sign of the enemy!
“Slash!—”
The dagger slashed across his throat, blood flowing down the transparent blade, dripping onto the black and purple ground.
“Why didn’t you leave?”
The Assassin’s body went stiff, his throat pierced. As he tried to counterattack, the dagger was withdrawn!
Reflexively, he wanted to cough, but only blood bubbles rose, making no sound!
His eyes wide under the bone mask, his weapon fell, and he collapsed into a pool of blood.
Hearing the faint noise, several Assassins quickly gathered.
Seeing the body, they silently retreated into the darkness.
The killing would continue!
Kurumi didn’t hide, but in the black and purple mist, they couldn’t sense her even a short distance away.
Her black boots stepped silently, gripping the dagger. A drop of blood fell from the tip.
“Clang!”
Kurumi turned swiftly, clashing metal!
Sparks flew, revealing the attacker’s face, who also saw Kurumi’s!
“Finally, someone attacks me.”
As the attacker tried to retreat, Kurumi pressed forward! Her dagger swung repeatedly, using only her physical strength.
Even so, the attacker was overwhelmed!
“Isn’t it said ‘one strike fails, retreat a thousand miles’? Why aren’t you following the script?!”
The attacker was frustrated but couldn’t afford to be. His skilled blade work was helpless against the witch’s strength.
If he held on, reinforcements would come.
Retreating, his blade parried Kurumi’s strikes, using skill to deflect her power!
Other Assassins, hearing the noise, surrounded them, waiting for Kurumi to show an opening.
In the shadows, Kurumi smiled, suddenly increasing her strength, stabbing downward!
“Snap!—”
The attacker’s weapon broke, throwing Kurumi off balance.
Three hidden Assassins struck simultaneously!
Head! Heart! Throat!
As the first Assassin was about to succeed, she saw Kurumi’s smile.
‘Oh no!’
Her heart sank. Kurumi had kicked the broken blade into her heart!
Blood splattered on the second attacker’s shoulder before he could react, his head decapitated by the dagger!
Kurumi grabbed the disarmed assassin’s arm, using her strength to force him into a close embrace with the third assailant.
Taking advantage of their proximity, she plunged the blade into one assassin’s heart, pinning the other to the ground.
“Shhh!”
The fresh blood sprayed into the air, and he didn’t even see how he died.
The edge of Kurumi’s black dress was now stained with blood, forming tiny plum blossoms, adding a unique charm.
Holding the transparent dagger in a reverse grip, blood still dripping from it, she finally let the remaining assassins get a clear view of her weapon.
But so what? Staring at the girl in front of them, with half of her beautiful face adorned with a faint smile and an abnormal flush, they felt a surge of fear.
The assassins retreated, the eerie atmosphere and immense psychological pressure shattering their resolve.
One by one, they fled, trying to escape from this terrifying girl.
“Hey~” Kurumi said, looking disappointed. “Are you all just going to run away like that?”
She lightly flicked the dagger, splattering blood onto the ground.
“How boring.”
Kurumi raised her head, looking at the black-purple sky, muttering to herself, “Since you don’t want to play, the game should end now.”
“Boom!”
A loud explosion echoed from the dark sphere, causing Irisviel to look worried and Weber to cling tightly to Iskandar.
It was as if that thing could devour them at any moment!
“It seems the witch has dealt with Assassin.”
“That took long enough!”
Gilgamesh, slightly displeased, noted that they had already consumed half the wine.
The black sphere dissipated, and the sky seemed tinged with black and purple.
Seeing Kurumi approaching with a smile, Saber asked knowingly, “Is it done?”
“It’s done.”
“Clink!”
Kurumi caught the wine glass thrown at her, the liquid inside remaining still. If Newton saw this, he’d probably roll over in his grave!
“The King grants you this celebratory drink!”
Kurumi squinted, the reflection of Gilgamesh’s haughty expression in her eyes.
The intoxicating aroma filled her nostrils, something her doppelganger hadn’t noticed earlier.
She took a small sip, finding it smoother than any liquor she had known in her previous life, leaving a rich, lingering flavor.
A slight blush appeared on her face, and her eyes brightened. This drink could enhance spiritual energy activity!
Though she didn’t plan to activate her spiritual vortex now, it didn’t diminish the value of this drink.
Seeing Kurumi’s reaction, Gilgamesh’s mood visibly improved.
“Witch, since you’ve dealt with those vermin for the King, what reward do you seek?”
Kurumi giggled, kneeling gracefully on the ground. “What treasures do you have?”
“The treasures the King possesses are beyond my comprehension. One could say, any treasure belongs to me!”
“I only wish for you to return to the Throne of Heroes.”
