Kurumi Tokisaki's Planar Journey - Chapter 479
The sea monster suddenly moved forward, causing the water to rumble like tectonic plates were shifting violently.
Hundreds of giant, black-purple tentacles all shot towards Kurumi’s position!
The sheer size of the tentacles made it easy to underestimate their speed, but they still caused those observing the pure white figure standing in the clear river to feel a sense of dread.
From the difference in size alone, it seemed like the slender figure wouldn’t withstand a single round before being bound by the sea monster and subjected to unspeakable things.
Kurumi raised her head slightly, her divine power naturally spreading outwards. Ripples spread across the clear river, and her pale golden eyes showed no signs of panic.
“Kaboom!”
Thirteen large formation diagrams floated beside the sea monster!
These diagrams were inscribed with numerous, yet not overly complex, magical runes following a particular order.
No one underestimated the vast magic power contained within the formation diagrams!
The sinister energy emanating from the sea monster was suppressed for a moment!
“Gulp…”
Standing on the shore, Waver swallowed nervously, his expression showing excitement. “Is this… the power of a top-tier mage?”
No one answered him. Even Irisviel beside him looked gravely at the thirteen complex formation diagrams.
In reality, this was the same complex gravitational array Kurumi used when dealing with giant monsters in the Date A Live world for the first time.
It wasn’t too advanced; given enough time, even a novice could decipher it.
However, the magical systems were different in the Fate/Zero world. Even if someone had significant magical knowledge and skill, they couldn’t crack it quickly.
Not to mention, Caster was the one being oppressed! His crazed mind couldn’t fit any other thoughts besides wanting to crush the divine proxy before him!
“Boom, boom, boom!”
The sound grew louder, and the blood-red water began to flow backward!
The thirteen gravitational arrays rotated continuously, and the runes on them were activated by ample magic power. The light spread crazily across each intricate line.
With each rotation, gravity shifted, increasing the sea monster’s weight. Every part of its body was under gravitational pressure!
“Bang!”
A smaller tentacle couldn’t withstand the pressure and exploded from within! It was like a signal; small, large, thick, thin explosions followed one after another!
In no time, the smell of blood again filled half the river!
“Boom!”
A column of blood sprayed into the air, rising over thirty meters high! It turned into a blood mist, lingering around.
The amount of pressure the sea monster endured was unimaginable!
Just as Caster tried to regenerate the sea monster, the muscles had just started to move when the gravitational force tore them apart!
Regeneration… was no longer possible!
Caster’s eyes widened as the smaller tentacles unwrapped from his body. This mage began frantically flipping through the Necronomicon, searching for a way to break free!
He couldn’t understand the formations outside the sea monster. Inspiration flashed by, but he could never grasp it!
“What to do? What to do?”
Caster scratched his head. He still wanted to bury her in filth! He still wanted to boast to Jeanne!
He couldn’t fail here!
“Lapdog of the gods!”
Kurumi extended her right hand, injecting divine power into the Gamma-class runes. Unlike usual, pale golden lines wound around it, elegantly tracing each mark.
“Foul creature, may hell embrace you.”
Her tone was icy and emotionless. As Caster continued to decode the gravitational arrays, divine retribution frantically… finally descended.
Milky white divine flames surged through the Gamma-class element, reaching an unimaginable temperature!
However, the heat was locked within the divine flames, not leaking out.
“Roar!”
The sea monster released a final wail; its entire body was quickly engulfed in the milky white divine flames.
Caster, for some reason, fell silent.
It was as if he saw Jeanne waving at him…
There were no dramatic scenes. The milky white divine flames burned quietly.
Occasionally, a limb would fall into the water, and a white flame would bloom out of nowhere, incinerating it into nothingness.
The divine flames vanished, and so did the sea monster.
The river turned into a sea of fire, then quickly disappeared, taking with it all the flesh and blood remnants.
The filthy purple mist in the air was burned away. Kurumi eradicated all the “evil” she sensed, turning it into nothingness.
Only the Nightmare, hiding in the water, did Red Queen get a small piece of tentacle residue for experimentation.
After greeting Kurumi, the Red Queen excitedly disappeared.
At night, the white light vanished utterly. No one felt relieved. Even though they had signed a “ceasefire agreement” under the church’s witness, who knew if the mysterious divine woman would, in the name of sin, wipe them all out?
Rider and Gilgamesh were still chatting carelessly, but it was clear Gilgamesh wasn’t taking Rider’s words to heart.
His eyes were fixed on Kurumi, the divine being radiating holy light!
Thinking of the treasures he possessed, his mouth twisted into a sinister smile.
Kurumi seemed to sense something and looked up. For the first time, her pale golden eyes showed seriousness.
The divine light dimmed, and the spirit power vortex within her began to feel obstructed. It spun more slowly, and its activity declined.
Her black dress reappeared, and the once-revered goddess transformed back into a witch, leaving Saber momentarily stunned.
Tilting her head towards the riverbank, Kurumi playfully waved at Saber before disappearing from the river’s surface.
Ripples spread out, and apart from the lingering divine aura, there was nothing else.
In a daze, it seemed like the sea monster and the divine woman were illusions.
The city remained undisturbed, and even the body of Caster’s master was incinerated by the divine flames.
Caster had officially become a thing of the past!
“Saber…”
Irisviel looked worriedly at the sword-wielding girl. Among them, she had the most frequent interactions with that unique spirit. But what exactly had happened?
…
All the masters became more cautious. Kurumi had given them immense pressure. Experienced magi could see that the divine woman hadn’t even exerted much effort when dealing with the sea monster!
The monster that had stumped many heroic spirits, leaving them to pin their hopes on Saber’s Noble Phantasm, didn’t last two moves in her hands!
Who was she? What was her goal?
No one knew.
And the protagonist of their speculations was already lying in bed.
Next to her, Sakura hugged Shirou, sleeping soundly. The little Red Queen was surfing the magic rune network, continuously calculating and modelling, conducting strange experiments with the sea monster’s tentacle residue.
After all, that thing had a bit of a connection to the legendary Cthulhu mythos.
Judging by Red Queen’s serious expression, she probably hadn’t figured anything out yet.
Who’s next?
Kurumi pondered, thinking of Diarmuid, the first knight of the Irish Fianna, known as “Radiant Face.”
“Ding~ The Reincarnator has triggered a side quest. Read the details to start.”
