Kurumi Tokisaki's Planar Journey - Chapter 499
Tohsaka Tokiomi stood frozen, cold sweat dripping from his forehead.
Even though he knew the Heroic Spirit could not harm him, he felt deeply uneasy about this mighty and autonomous being.
The demonized Gilgamesh had become a strange figure, and Tokiomi clearly saw his unhidden murderous intent in his eyes!
Thinking quickly, Tokiomi tried to find an excuse to divert the Hero King’s attention elsewhere.
Who could have done this to the Hero King? A goddess? But how could a deity use such vile magic?!
He dared not ask Gilgamesh directly; his mind was in chaos, not knowing what to say.
Gilgamesh’s once handsome face was marred by black veins, ruining his looks.
Even he could feel the foul blood coursing through his veins, making him nauseous!
Catching his breath, Gilgamesh frowned, displeased with Tokiomi’s actions.
“Tohsaka! Use a Command Spell to heal me immediately!”
Gilgamesh’s demanding voice snapped Tokiomi back to reality. He bowed low and addressed the Hero King, “Honorable King, the last Command Spell is crucial, and you…”
“Crucial?!” The demonized Gilgamesh’s face twisted with rage, unable to accept his ghastly form. He roared, “You plan to use that spell to make me commit suicide, don’t you?!”
Tokiomi was stunned. He had never considered such a thing, yet the Heroic Spirit had somehow learned of it, and from his Servant no less!
“Why aren’t you speaking? Am I right, Tohsaka?!”
Gilgamesh’s voice rose with each word. Tokiomi thought of what Kariya Matou had said—perhaps his disciple, Kirei Kotomine.
Bowing lower to appear more humble, Tokiomi first appeased the ancient king.
“Honorable King, I am loyal to you… huh?!”
“Splurt! ——”
Bright red blood gushed from a wound in his abdomen, soaking his suit and dripping from the blade.
“Plop~”
Drops of blood fell to the ground, the bloodstained blade unmistakably the one he had given to his disciple, Kirei Kotomine.
Tokiomi couldn’t comprehend why Kirei was there or how he had bypassed the magical barriers.
Turning his head in disbelief, he gasped, “Kirei… you… you…”
“Splurt~”
With nothing to block the wound, the blood flowed more freely!
Turning back to see the demon-like Gilgamesh, Tokiomi finally believed Kariya Matou.
Coughing up blood, he extended a trembling hand, “I will use a Command Spell…”
“Splurt! ——”
“Plop~”
A hand in a suit sleeve flew through the air, landing with a splash, blood pooling around it, the scent thick in the air.
“No need to trouble yourself, Master.”
“Thud~”
Already drained of mana by Gilgamesh, Tokiomi, now losing blood rapidly, collapsed to the ground!
In his fading vision, he saw the Command Spell on Kirei Kotomine’s hand, mocking him silently.
A roaring sound filled his ears. He didn’t want to think anymore. He had been so close to success… He hoped Rin could fulfill the Tohsaka family’s centuries-old wish…
His vision darkened. He thought he heard Kariya Matou’s furious shout, but that must be an illusion. Why would Kariya be sad for someone like him? He would probably be overjoyed…
——
Though Kariya Matou was severely injured, the Crest Worms in his body healed his external wounds quickly by devouring large amounts of flesh.
However, this left him increasingly weak, the worms consuming everything inside him.
Despite Tokiomi’s return to the Tohsaka residence, Kariya couldn’t shake his unease, especially with Kirei Kotomine on his mind.
His anxiety grew, sensing something terrible was about to happen.
Since the battle at the church, Kariya had changed his mind. Tokiomi must not die, not in the Holy Grail War!
Sakura had already lost her father, but Rin must not lose Tokiomi!
Knowing his life was nearing its end, Kariya wondered how Aoi could care for Rin without Tokiomi.
Those seemingly elegant magi were, at their core, demons!
Firm in his resolve, Kariya limped towards the Tohsaka mansion. He just needed to ensure Tokiomi’s safety…
Arriving outside the mansion, Kariya panicked, unable to reach Tokiomi. He didn’t matter, but Rin couldn’t lose her father!
Fueled by this thought, the Crest Worms provided his Servant with mana. Berserker smashed through the mansion gates!
Like a heavy tank, Berserker effortlessly tore through the mansion’s magical defenses!
Charging towards the area where Tokiomi’s presence had vanished, Berserker punched through an entire wall!
“Boom! ——”
Rubble collapsed, dust blocking everyone’s view, except for the “Nightmare” in the sky.
Seeing Kariya Matou and Berserker attacking the mansion, Kurumi decided to observe and adapt.
“Nightmare’s” electronic eye captured Tokiomi’s corpse, zooming in. His death wasn’t too gruesome, but his eyes were open.
A death without peace?
Kurumi wasn’t interested in that. She knew the worst outcome had happened.
Kirei Kotomine had evaded the Red Queen’s detection!
The outdated 90s technology severely hampered the Red Queen. Kurumi activated “Nightmare’s” cloaking, hiding in the sky.
Given the situation, it seemed Gilgamesh had made a pact with Kirei Kotomine.
How many Command Spells did Kirei have? Kurumi and the Red Queen didn’t know. The Command Spells Kirei inherited from his deceased father were enough to alarm Kurumi!
Berserker’s assault would reveal Gilgamesh’s strength.
Inspecting “Nightmare,” Kurumi noted the dwindling conventional ammunition. Laser weapons required reactor power but had long cooldowns.
However, she believed Gilgamesh couldn’t catch “Nightmare!”
As the dust settled, the unscathed Gilgamesh appeared.
Kirei Kotomine’s hand, however, was missing a Command Spell.
Gilgamesh stood coldly, arms crossed, sneering at Berserker. “Tokiomi, that fool, indeed conspired with a sewer rat!”
Seeing Tokiomi’s body, Kariya Matou trembled with rage!
