Kurumi Tokisaki's Planar Journey - Chapter 500
“Berserker, kill him for me!”
Before Kariya Matou could give the command, Berserker had already launched into action. The courtyard’s stones shattered beneath the force of his steps!
Gilgamesh stood with his arms crossed, his iconic sneer on his lips.
Golden ripples appeared behind him, and several Noble Phantasms shot toward Berserker!
Tonight alone, Gilgamesh had fought three battles!
He had entirely drained Tohsaka Tokiomi’s mana! But with a new Master, Gilgamesh’s confidence soared!
He didn’t believe Berserker possessed the strange inverted tree as the witch; that thing was unsolvable for him except with the Chains of Heaven. But once those chains were used, they’d be seized by that dark armor. Without the vast reserves of the “Gate of Babylon,” he wouldn’t have been able to reclaim them!
While thinking of strategies to counter Kurumi, the “Gate of Babylon” continuously fired Noble Phantasms at Berserker.
Kariya Matou was forced to hide, as even the wind from those Noble Phantasms was too much for his tormented body to bear.
Berserker’s prowess was undeniable; even in his maddened state, he retained some of his former skills.
Kariya didn’t care who Berserker was in life; he only wanted to kill that gleaming Heroic Spirit!
And take revenge on Kotomine Kirei for Tohsaka Tokiomi! No, for Rin!
Behind Gilgamesh, the stone-faced priest Kotomine Kirei made no move, even seeing Kariya hiding. He had no intention of fighting.
The air was filled with the sound of sharp wind and clashing metal! Sparks flew in the night as half of the Tohsaka estate was destroyed!
Shrouded in black mist, Berserker wielded stolen Noble Phantasms, quickly closing in on the proud king with crossed arms!
“Tch! Filthy rat, sharing the same ground as you is an insult to me!”
The speed at which the “Gate of Babylon” produced ripples doubled!
Just as Berserker was about to strike, he was forced to stop, even starting to retreat!
Hiding in the woods, Kariya felt the Crest Worms depleting his mana, consuming what little flesh he had left!
Berserker’s power was immense, but the mana cost was unbearable. The Crest Worms had to devour Kariya’s flesh to provide the needed mana!
In the Tohsaka estate, Noble Phantasms shattered the ground, reducing stones to dust! The battle between Berserker and Gilgamesh was shrouded in dust.
Only the tiny flashes of light gave any indication of their positions.
In the sky, “Nightmare” had switched to regular patrol mode, cloaked and requiring minimal energy.
Weapon simulations had run thousands of times! Though they could hit Gilgamesh, they couldn’t inflict fatal damage.
“Master, should we call Saber?”
“… Call her to fight Berserker? And let Gilgamesh come after us?”
“Heh heh.” The Red Queen giggled awkwardly, “With Excalibur’s help, ‘Nightmare’ could easily take out Kotomine Kirei.”
“Let’s wait.”
Kurumi used conventional weapons to target Kotomine, while laser weapons were aimed at Gilgamesh. The reactor power was kept low.
Kotomine suddenly looked up at the sky, then back at the battlefield, amused by Gilgamesh’s furious shouting.
His gaze passed over Gilgamesh, recalling the high and mighty king-turned-demon. A smirk tugged at his lips.
He saw Gilgamesh venting his frustration on Berserker so he wouldn’t bother attacking Kariya.
He would deal with the poor youth when the king was bored.
Kariya, having a special connection with his former master, made Kotomine eager to kill him!
And stage a “mutual destruction” scene to inform his beloved teacher’s wife, Aoi.
Her expression would be priceless!
He couldn’t wait!
In the “Nightmare” cockpit, Kurumi shivered.
“Master, Kotomine Kirei’s senses are terrifying!”
“He still trusts his eyes too much.”
The chibi Red Queen nodded, “He’s a complete psycho.”
“A psycho?” Kurumi smirked, “He needs a psychiatrist. Too bad they’re rare these days.”
The chibi Red Queen wobbled, presenting several plans to Kurumi.
“Treat Kotomine Kirei’s mental illness with dreams?!” Kurumi’s face twisted. “I’d rather send him to meet God with a bullet.”
“Just a suggestion! A suggestion!”
“Stop joking. Let’s get serious. Assist my aim! I want Kotomine dead tonight!”
“Master, don’t jinx it!”
“Shut up!”
Kurumi focused on the battlefield. The walls crumbled, stones scattered, and the greenery was destroyed.
Berserker’s speed hadn’t diminished, but Kariya couldn’t keep up with his mana demands. The electronic eye captured Berserker’s condition, reminding Kurumi of people infected by parasitic worms!
Retaining consciousness but constantly tortured; losing consciousness but gaining immense power.
Who suffered more?
Kurumi had no sympathy for Kariya. She linked the neural device to “Nightmare,” targeting Kotomine with all auxiliary ballistic systems!
Laser weapons aimed at Gilgamesh. His reaction speed would only matter with prior warning.
This was the perfect opportunity for an ambush!
“Buzz! ——”
A blue laser beam pierced Gilgamesh’s abdomen! A baby fist-sized hole appeared, no blood flowing, the surrounding flesh charred, emitting a burnt stench!
Kurumi shifted her focus to Kotomine. As the others reacted, a volley of bullets aimed at him!
“Bang!~”
The first bullet exploded in Kotomine’s shoulder, and the second tore into his left arm!
More bullets struck his legs and abdomen, but none hit vital points!
Kurumi nearly lost it. Using “Nightmare’s” targeting system, she still missed lethally. Kotomine must be the protagonist!
