Leading Naruto to Destroy the World - Chapter 14
“You truly live up to the name Blue Flash, detecting us so easily.”
The voice was devoid of emotion, cold like a machine.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Accompanied by the sound of slicing through the air, several masked ninjas appeared around Mirai.
They formed a tight circle around him, leaving no gaps.
Their masks had simpler patterns, almost devoid of animal features, and their presence was as cold and mechanical as their voices…
“Root, huh?”
Mirai sneered.
“It seems Danzo finally couldn’t hold back any longer. Sending just a few of you to die, isn’t that underestimating me a bit too much?”
The ten elite Root members comprised half Jonin and the other half Special Jonin.
He possessed a unique sensory ability to detect biological magnetic fields, allowing him to gauge the approximate strength of his enemies.
This was why he detected the Root agents the moment they approached.
As for Naruto’s safety, Mirai wasn’t worried.
Naruto was the Nine-Tails’ Jinchuriki, a significant asset, and Danzo wouldn’t recklessly make a move against him.
More importantly, no unfamiliar biological magnetic fields were on the path back home.
This indicated that these Root members targeted him specifically, ensuring Naruto’s safety.
“Mirai, come with us. Lord Danzo wants to see you.”
Though the word “please” was used, the cold, forceful tone implied anything but a request.
One of the agents reached for his ninja sword, locking onto Mirai’s every movement.
If Mirai refused, a torrent of attacks awaited him.
“Lead the way.”
Mirai’s face remained calm.
This was a street in Konoha; despite the evening hour and sparse pedestrians, fighting here would limit his abilities.
Following the Root agents, they moved to a secluded forest from the bustling area.
Mirai glanced around.
“Where’s Danzo?”
The Root agents simultaneously drew their ninja swords and rushed at him.
“Lord Danzo wants you to meet him underground!”
The long blades glinted coldly as they aimed to strike Mirai, sealing off all his escape routes.
Mirai’s expression remained unchanged as he activated his electromagnetic force, but to his surprise, the trajectory of the swords was unaffected.
“Don’t waste your energy! These are specially crafted ninja tools without any metal!”
The lead Root agent smirked, the sharp blade aimed at Mirai’s throat.
They had rehearsed this mission countless times.
Their entire attire was devoid of metal!
Even their weapons were made from other materials, painted to look metallic to deceive Mirai.
The scene before them blurred as the Root agent’s sword pierced through Mirai, but there was no feedback.
A mere afterimage?!
Before he could react, a roar came from behind, and his body was struck like a cannonball, flying backward like a severed kite.
He crashed into a large tree, breaking it, then another, and finally collapsed to the ground, limp like clay.
His body was a bloody mess!
Unrecognizable!
“Damn it! So fast!”
The remaining Root agents’ eyes twitched at the sight.
Mirai stood where the Root agent had been, bathed in lightning arcs, his right leg still in the kicking position.
Even though they knew of Mirai’s incredible speed, witnessing it firsthand shocked the Root members.
A one-hit kill!
An acceleration technique was surpassing Lightning Release Chakra Mode!
In close to mid-range, it could rival space-time abilities!
“Change formation!”
The remaining Root agents spread out, abandoning the idea of close combat with Mirai.
The tactic of using non-metallic weapons had failed.
Mirai’s speed could turn any battle in his favor!
“Too slow.”
His voice was devoid of emotion, as if speaking casually.
Yet it sent chills down the spines of the Root members.
Whoosh!
Electromagnetic propulsion!
Mirai’s body turned into a flash of lightning, appearing instantly before one Root agent.
The agent was forming hand seals when Mirai’s cold face appeared in his field of vision. His expression changed drastically as he instinctively tried to dodge.
But!
Bang!
With a sound like a dull explosion, the Root agent’s abdomen was blasted open, organs mixed with blood and bone fragments splattering like a bloody rain, staining the forest red.
Mirai retracted his fist, scanning the remaining Root agents.
“Fire Style: Ash Pile Burning!”
“Fire Style: Fire Dragon Flame Bullet!”
TwoRootst joined simultaneously and inhaled, timing their breaths perfectly, like they had rehearsed it countless times.
Thick, grayish-brown smoke billowed from one Root agent’s mouth, quickly spreading through the forest and engulfing Mirai.
A dragon-shaped flame from the other side ignited the smoke, causing an explosion that enveloped Mirai in a fire.
As the flames gradually dissipated, the trees in the center vanished in the explosion, and Mirai walked out of the fire, bathed in lightning, untouched.
Surrounding him, four Root agents paired up, golden chains extending from their palms, crackling with sparks.
Sealing techniques?
Mirai’s brow furrowed.
Before he could think further, the remaining Root agents charged, attacking from different angles to seal off his escape.
“Useless.”
Mirai was about to strike back when the four Root jonin halted at four corners, simultaneously forming a hand seal.
“Activate!”
The ground beneath the forest glowed faintly, and Mirai felt an immense pressure envelop him.
It was as if the air around him had become a thick liquid, gripping his limbs and immobilizing him.
“Did you think we chose this battlefield randomly?”
The lead Root agent sneered.
“This place was long prepared with a sealing barrier! You arrogantly followed us here, but your arrogance will be your downfall!”
The four root agents holding the chains seized the rare opportunity and charged, and the golden chains bonded Mirai tightly.
“We got him!”
…
At the Hokage’s office.
Despite hearing Danzo’s plan, Hiruzen Sarutobi’s expression didn’t relax at all.
He took a deep breath.
“Danzo, you forgot one thing.”
“What’s that?”
Danzo was dismissive.
His plan was flawless.
It covered all possible scenarios.
He had analyzed all the intelligence of Mirai’s abilities countless times.
Indeed, allowing Mirai to unleash his powers would be terrifying.
His various unimaginable abilities seemed limitless.
But, there was one fatal weakness!
Sealing techniques!
As long as they could seal him before he could use his powers.
He would become a caged bird.
And the Root just so happened to have similar sealing techniques!
“His three missing years.”
The missing three years?
Danzo frowned.
Taking a deep drag from his pipe, Hiruzen Sarutobi exhaled a cloud of smoke, his gaze piercing through it to the village outside the Hokage’s office window.
“During those three missing years, I deployed a large number of ANBU to search for him, but to no avail.”
“The last piece of information we received was…”
“He went to the Land of Wind.”
