“Naruto, you should stay here. It might get dangerous soon.”
“No, I want to go with you, Uncle.”
Naruto shook his head.
“It’s going to be a fight, you know. For your safety, it’s best you stay here so I can focus.”
Mirai ruffled Naruto’s hair.
Even though those Cloud ninjas weren’t too strong, they posed a significant threat to Naruto as he was now.
He couldn’t just stand by and watch his nephew fall into danger.

Naruto ran to his nightstand, rummaged around, and pulled out a metal device, proudly showing it to Mirai.
The silver body of the gun glinted menacingly in the moonlight.
The handle had a trigger, and two parallel, narrow metal rails formed the barrel.

After several looks, he confirmed he wasn’t seeing things. Two blondies were indeed blocking their path!
“Do they want to die? There are only two of them, and they dare block our way!”
The Cloud leader didn’t avoid them. He sped up, his eyes flashing savagely, clutching a kunai in his right hand, ready to strike!
Mirai’s lips curled into a slight smile.
They saw me and didn’t dodge but charged straight ahead.

He swung his right hand, a blue arc flashing.

The Cloud leader felt as if a cannonball had hit his abdomen, his face twisting in pain, almost vomiting his breakfast.
Like a kite with a broken string, he flew in an arc under the night sky, crashing to the ground far away.
“Boss!!!”
The Cloud ninjas, eyes red with rage, rushed to help.
When they lifted their leader, their pupils contracted in horror.
His clothing was burned through, exposing blackened, bleeding skin. The leader clutched his bleeding stomach, curling up in pain.
“Boss, are you alright?”
“Don’t just stand there! Finish him off!”
Fighting the pain, the leader gritted his teeth, his eyes bloodshot as he glared at Mirai.
They had to kill this man.
No matter who he was, he couldn’t be left alive since he had seen them!
“Yes!”
The remaining Cloud ninjas, full of hatred, focused on Mirai.
Hinata tossed aside during the commotion, slowly regained consciousness, rubbing her head in confusion.
“My head hurts. Where am I?”
She looked around, trembling in fear.
A group of grim-looking ninjas was surrounding two blond ones.
Wasn’t she just going to the bathroom?
How did she end up here?
“Naruto, that girl is your responsibility now!”
Seeing Hinata awaken, Mirai smiled at Naruto.
“Got it, Uncle. Don’t worry!”
Naruto nodded seriously.
“Damn it, he hurt the boss. We can’t let him go!”
The surrounding Cloud ninjas charged at Mirai.
Two Jonin, five Chunin, huh?
Mirai’s lips curved into a faint smile.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
With the sound of air being cut, several kunai were thrown, blocking all of Mirai’s escape routes.
“Metal kunai?”
Mirai raised an eyebrow, smiling faintly.
“Looks like you guys didn’t recognize me!”
He stood still, not dodging.
The Cloud ninjas froze, stunned.
The kunai, flying at high speed, suddenly seemed to hit a viscous liquid. It slowed down drastically before stopping completely, suspended in the air.
The scene was so shocking that it took several seconds for the Cloud ninjas to react.
“B-blue Flash…”

Meanwhile, Naruto, skirting the battlefield, finally reached Hinata.
In her frightened gaze, he took her hand.
“Come with me. My uncle and I will protect you!”
Naruto gave her what he thought was a bright smile.
Soon, his smile froze.
Hinata, covering her mouth with one hand, stared wide-eyed in fear at something behind him.
A shadow loomed over them.
The Cloud leader, clutching his bleeding stomach, grinned maliciously.
“Little brat, die!”
