Leading Naruto to Destroy the World - Chapter 38
Mirai as Hokage?
What a joke!
Even if Hiruzen abdicated, the Hokage position should be his!
Danzo exploded in anger, like a cat whose tail had been stepped on.
He glared at Mirai with bloodshot eyes!
Mirai had touched his bottom line, which he could never allow to be crossed!
The atmosphere in the meeting room grew heavy, causing the Konoha high-ups to stiffen.
This was a slippery slope!
Hiruzen’s face turned ashen. If Mirai had earlier only insulted him, then Mirai’s recent words were a slap across his face.
Facing the glares of Hiruzen and Danzo, Mirai suddenly calmed down and spoke serenely.
“At least when my brother was here, Konoha would never suffer such humiliation.”
Mirai’s brother?
The Fourth Hokage, the Yellow Flash?
The ninjas in the room were struck by images of Minato’s kind and charismatic smile and fell silent.
Minato’s death was a significant loss for Konoha.
It was his death that lowered Konoha’s strength to its current state.
Suddenly, they couldn’t help but wonder.
What would Konoha be like if Hiruzen had used the Reaper Death Seal instead?
The thought scared them!
Would they need to appease the Raikage?
The Raikage would be the one begging Konoha for forgiveness!
That Fourth Raikage had faced the Yellow Flash multiple times during the Third War and never won.
At best, he managed a draw.
One could say that during the Third War, Namikaze Minato had built his fame as the Yellow Flash on the back of the Fourth Raikage!
In an instant, nostalgia, regret, and loss filled the meeting room…
In this atmosphere, Mirai calmly surveyed the ninjas at the table.
“The Fourth Raikage was merely my brother’s defeated foe.”
“Using the life of Hiashi Hyuga’s brother to please him, I can’t accept such subservience. If he insists on causing trouble…”
“If my brother isn’t here, then I’ll protect Konoha!”
Silence.
The meeting room fell into an unusual stillness.
Some ninjas who had witnessed Minato’s glory stared at Mirai, whose face resembled his brother’s by seven or eight points, with reddened eyes.
In their daze, the brothers’ faces seemed to overlap.
Minato’s younger brother.
Just like his brother, he cared for Konoha!
Though Minato was gone, his younger brother had inherited his will.
These two brothers were Konoha’s blessing!
Sensing the emotions filling the meeting room, Hiruzen’s wrinkled old face looked extremely grim.
He stared at Mirai’s youthful face, his eyes filled with intense dread.
He had underestimated the political legacy Minato had left behind!
Minato, who had only served as Hokage for a year, still held considerable influence among the high-ups.
This influence and admiration were now entirely inherited by Mirai through his recent words.
At this moment, he wasn’t just Mirai.
He was the Fourth Hokage’s brother, the Yellow Flash’s last beacon!
“Hokage-sama, the matter is settled. If there is nothing else, I shall take my leave.”
Mirai stood up and left!
His words had been clear.
Weakness was not his style!
Using Hizashi’s death to appease the Raikage, he couldn’t do it!
If the Raikage wanted to start a war!
Then let there be war!
The one afraid of war was always Hiruzen, not him!
Watching Mirai leave, Hiruzen’s hand trembled as it clutched the table.
For the first time in his life.
He was terrified.
His back was soaked with cold sweat.
His palms were also drenched.
This was a ninja, even more terrifying than Minato.
Young, powerful, ambitious!
He had strength, boldness, and understood strategy.
Such an enemy almost openly declared his intent to claim the Hokage’s position.
How could he possibly be at ease?
At the other end of the table, Uchiha Setsuna’s hawk-like eyes also watched Mirai leave.
Unlike Hiruzen’s fear, his eyes revealed open admiration and respect.
If the Uchiha could gain his support, they would surely succeed.
Mirai was the future of the entire Uchiha clan.
…
Leaving the Hokage building, Mirai returned, his eyes subtly flicking towards a hidden spot.
Interesting.
A mocking smile flashed across his lips.
He resumed his calm demeanor, following his original path back.
At a few key intersections, he turned down another street.
The deviation grew larger and larger.
Until he reached a sparsely populated alley.
“You’ve been following me for quite a while. Isn’t it time to come out?”
Without turning, facing the empty alley, Mirai’s calm voice held a hint of contempt.
There was no response.
Silence.
“Do I need to call you out by name for you to show yourself?”
Mirai let out a faint sneer.
“Ryoma Aburame.”
As soon as his voice fell several dozen meters away, a seemingly casual passerby froze, his eyes filled with shock, astonishment, and confusion.
He stared at Mirai, his voice dry.
“How did you know? My Transformation Jutsu is special, hidden by insects. You shouldn’t have noticed!”
It was his proud secret technique.
A skill painstakingly developed to fulfill Danzo-sama’s mission.
Even members of the Root skilled in sensory techniques had difficulty seeing through his disguise.
But Mirai had found him so easily?
Where did it go wrong?
Sensing his confusion, Mirai chuckled lightly.
“Your biofield gave you away.”
“Biofield?”
Hearing the unfamiliar term, Ryoma Aburame’s confusion deepened.
“Everyone’s biofield is unique, like a special identity card. Unseen yet very real.”
“I first saw your biofield when I returned to the village and went to the Hokage’s office. You were beside Danzo, watching me warily.”
“The second time was just now, during the Hokage meeting. You were outside the third-floor window.”
“This is the third time I’ve seen your biofield.”
Mirai looked at the ordinary young man at the alley’s entrance, his voice tinged with admiration.
“Honestly, your Transformation Jutsu is quite advanced. Not many in Konoha can see through your disguise.”
“Unfortunately, you met me. Transformation Jutsu is ineffective against me.”
