- Chapter 41 - Fugaku's Dilemma, Am I On a Pirate Ship?
Mirai’s body dissolved back into silver fluid and effortlessly exited the room, emerging outside.
Due to the earlier explosion, the Root base was still in disarray.
Most of the Root members had rushed to Danzo’s location.
For them, protecting Danzo was their sole purpose.
With only a few guards outside, Mirai, in his fluid form, passed through the corridor unnoticed.
He left that corner and expanded his view, revealing the vast Root base.
It resembled a dark underground palace, profound, solemn, and seemingly endless.
Mirai, through his magnetic fluid, sensed the surroundings.
His eyes flickered slightly.
“How much of Konoha’s funds did Danzo embezzle to build such an enormous base?”
The Root base was located on the outskirts of Konoha.
It was coupled with its tight security.
Even Mirai had never been inside before.
This was his first time entering the Root base.
Its vastness surprised even him.
Members in Root uniforms hurried past, exuding a chilling aura.
Hidden in the shadows of the walls as fluid, Mirai went unnoticed.
His magnetic fluid changed shape at the nanotech level at will and had surprising physical properties.
This was why nanotechnology had been so popular in his previous life.
Countless scientists have pursued the mysteries of nanoscience.
Now, Mirai had altered the optical reflection of the magnetic fluid to blend perfectly into the shadows.
It was virtually undetectable by the naked eye.
Most importantly, the magnetic fluid was metal in nature.
Even sensory ninjutsu wouldn’t detect anything unusual.
Using this ability, Mirai, amidst the chaos in Root, perfectly infiltrated the base’s depths.
Unnoticed.
“There’s a room ahead with numerous sensory and protection barriers around it…”
Mirai contemplated.
He encountered rooms with barriers during his infiltration, but none had as many barriers as this one.
Moreover, the room emitted numerous unusual biological magnetic fields, all close and orderly arranged.
Mirai couldn’t immediately identify the source of these strange magnetic fields.
“Perhaps what I’m looking for is inside.”
Mirai attempted to infiltrate.
Carefully bypassing the protective barriers, the silver fluid seeped through the tightly sealed door and slowly entered the room.
When he saw the scene inside, he was momentarily stunned.
The dusty laboratory contained rows upon rows of glass containers.
Inside the glass containers were various human tissues.
Most notably, there were numerous eyeballs.
Uchiha’s Sharingan.
Now, he understood the source of the strange biological magnetic fields he sensed outside.
They were these incomplete human tissues.
…
In his bedroom, receiving information from his magnetic fluid clone, Mirai’s blue eyes revealed a hint of surprise.
“Danzo actually has the audacity?”
The lab stored numerous Sharingan, although most were single tomoe, but the sheer quantity indicated they weren’t acquired quickly.
Moreover, he discovered some unusual pieces of flesh with astonishingly vibrant biological magnetic fields!
Mirai knew only one person’s biological magnetic field could reach such intensity.
Hashirama Senju!
After pondering for a moment.
Mirai opened the door and went to Naruto’s room.
He gently woke the napping Naruto.
“Uncle.”
Naruto rubbed his sleepy eyes.
Mirai smiled, “Be good, Naruto. Come with your uncle to a place.”
…
At the entrance of the Uchiha clan compound.
Seeing Mirai visiting again, the Uchiha guard was no longer as arrogant as before.
His demeanor lacked the typical Uchiha haughtiness.
He seemed somewhat ingratiating and respectful.
“Mirai-sama, are you here to see the clan head? Please follow me!”
The Uchiha guard stepped aside.
He knew that the blond man before him was someone he couldn’t afford to offend.
Even his clan head, Fugaku, had to be respectful.
The second visit to the Uchiha compound went smoother than expected.
Soon, Mirai arrived at Uchiha Fugaku’s residence.
Fugaku, already dressed formally, was informed by his clan members and sat waiting at the table.
Mirai pushed open the door.
His first words made Fugaku’s pupils contract.
“Danzo is plotting to obtain the power of the Sharingan.”
Fugaku’s usually calm face couldn’t remain composed. Even his steady heart pounded.
“What?! Mirai, you can’t be serious.”
The Sharingan was the Uchiha’s unique kekkei genkai!
One of Konoha’s two great dojutsu!
It was Uchiha’s greatest asset in the ninja world!
And now, Mirai told him that Danzo, Konoha’s shadowy adviser, was plotting to obtain the Sharingan’s power.
How could he not be alarmed?
Given the current tensions between the village and the Uchiha.
Seeing Fugaku’s disbelief, Mirai opened his palm, revealing a crimson eye with two black tomoe.
“I found this in Danzo’s Root base.”
“Danzo, how dare he?!”
Fugaku was nearly breathless, staring at the two-tomoe Sharingan, blood vessels bursting in his eyes.
This was undoubtedly his clan’s eye.
Judging by the decayed chakra within it, it had been extracted for some time.
Mirai had only recently returned to the village.
The timeline didn’t match; it couldn’t be him.
There was only one truth.
Danzo, the shadow of the village, had already extended his claws towards the Uchiha.
“Fugaku, will you just sit by and watch your clan’s eyes become someone else’s plaything?”
Mirai’s lips curled into a smile.
He knew Fugaku’s weak character and indecisiveness.
So, he needed some stimulation.
“What do you want me to do?”
Fugaku took a deep breath, calming his turbulent emotions.
Mirai’s smile deepened.
He slowly explained.
Fugaku’s expression shifted from astonishment to shock, finally to terrified disbelief.
“Are you crazy? Doing this is tantamount to declaring war on the higher-ups!”
He couldn’t believe that this seemingly refined man, resembling the Fourth Hokage, could be so insane.
This wasn’t just playing with fire.
This was playing with a nuclear bomb.
One misstep could lead to unimaginable consequences!
“What are you afraid of? You have me, don’t you?”
Mirai smiled at him.
“Living in Minato’s house for so long has become tiresome. From now on, I’ll live in the Uchiha compound.”
Fugaku was stunned.
Mirai wanted to live in the Uchiha compound.
“Not just me, but Naruto too.”
Mirai smiled faintly.
Naruto???
Fugaku gave him a deep look.
Naruto was the Nine-Tails’ Jinchuriki.
If Mirai had the Nine-Tails’ Jinchuriki living in the Uchiha compound…
Hiruzen and Danzo would go berserk.
The Nine-Tails’ Jinchuriki, residing with the ‘evil’ Uchiha clan???
The inherently ‘evil’ Uchiha!!
Fugaku could already imagine Danzo’s reaction.
But it would also be a deterrent.
A declaration.
The Uchiha had the power to bring Konoha down with them.
Fugaku felt a splitting headache.
Mirai was too overbearing, too overpowering.
Given the current situation, he had no choice.
He suddenly felt like he had boarded a pirate ship.
