Leading Naruto to Destroy the World - Chapter 47
The deafening thunder gradually ceased, and the rampaging purple sea of lightning began to calm down.
Like an angry beast retracting its fury, the violent storm subsided.
Moments later, only four massive metal pillars stood solemnly on the devastated battlefield.
The top ends of the metal pillars still crackled with residual electricity.
The sustained five-minute, million-volt electrical assault had created a crater several meters deep, where the soil and silica had melted under the intense heat. The once-verdant forest had transformed into a vast basin, with wisps of white smoke rising.
The air was filled with the pungent smell of ozone produced by the electrolysis.
But no one cared about this minor anomaly; all eyes were fixed on the ruined battlefield.
They felt insignificantly small in the face of this smoking, giant basin.
Could a human indeed wield such power?
And it was Mirai who had stopped the attack.
What if he hadn’t? How long would this assault have continued?
How much more terrifying would the damage have been?
Hiruzen’s pupils trembled slightly.
His gaze lingered on the four smoking metal pillars.
Were these the keys to unleashing that jutsu?
What if these four metal pillars had been placed in the Sarutobi compound…
He didn’t dare to imagine, nor could he afford to.
Floating in the air, Mirai surveyed the battlefield, and after a brief search, he descended to the ground.
Uchiha Fugaku and the others who had been waiting immediately surrounded him.
“Mirai, who was your enemy?”
Fugaku asked anxiously.
Forcing Mirai to use such a terrifying attack, it couldn’t have been an ordinary enemy!
“It was the mastermind behind that night.”
Mirai replied calmly.
As expected!
Uchiha Fugaku’s pupils contracted.
Only the mastermind of that night could have warranted such power from Mirai…
Hearing this, the surrounding Uchiha clan members erupted into shocked discussions.
“That night? The night of the Nine-Tails’ rampage?”
“Lord Mirai was actually fighting such an enemy. How terrifying. That’s the same enemy the Fourth Hokage couldn’t defeat.”
These words reached Hiruzen’s ears, causing his face to change dramatically.
The mastermind of that night???
So the enemy Mirai was fighting was that enemy!
“Mirai, who is this enemy really?”
Hiruzen asked, his voice betraying his unease.
After all, rumors had spread in the village that the Nine-Tails incident was caused by one of Danzo’s escaped test subjects, and these rumors seemed plausible. He couldn’t be sure of the truth.
“The enemy wore a mask, so I couldn’t see his face.”
Mirai shook his head.
The enemy had worn a spiral mask, and despite his ability to phase through attacks, he hadn’t managed to destroy it even until the final moment of the battle.
Hiruzen breathed a sigh of relief.
So, there was no proof that this had anything to do with Danzo?
But Mirai’s following words made his face stiffen once more.
“However, I can confirm that the enemy has nothing to do with the Uchiha clan and harbors deep hatred for Konoha for unknown reasons.”
Mirai knew well that the Uchiha had been heavily suspected because of the Nine-Tails’ night and had their compound relocated.
Now that there was an opportunity, he naturally wanted to clear the Uchiha clan of suspicion.
“See! I told you the Nine-Tails’ night had nothing to do with us!”
“Exactly! The village’s suspicion of us was completely unfounded!”
“But that rumor about Danzo seems pretty credible.”
A group of red-eyed Uchihas was almost driven mad with excitement. They had always borne the stigma of harming the village and were met with hostility whenever they walked through the streets.
Now, finally clear their names, how could they not be excited?
While the Uchihas were rejoicing, Hiruzen and his Anbu were feeling dejected.
Hiruzen had tasked many of these Anbu to monitor the Uchiha compound.
The reason was the high suspicion that the Uchiha clan was involved in the Nine-Tails’ rampage.
But now, Mirai told them the true culprit was someone else.
Where did that leave their credibility?
“Ahem! We can discuss this later. Mirai, did you manage to kill the mastermind?”
After a few coughs, Hiruzen quickly changed the topic.
However, he didn’t expect Mirai to hesitate in response.
Scenes of Obito’s body exploding replayed in Mirai’s mind. His flesh had disintegrated in less than a second in the million-volt high-voltage current.
By rights, he should be dead beyond a doubt.
But Mirai felt something was off.
Obito’s biological field had vanished sooner than he had anticipated.
The time difference was minimal, almost invisible.
It was as if his body hadn’t been vaporized by the high-voltage current but had disappeared into thin air.
He turned to Uchiha Fugaku, asking seriously.
“Fugaku, does the Uchiha clan have a jutsu that allows resurrection?”
Resurrection?
Fugaku’s face stiffened.
After a moment of contemplation, he replied.
“There is one, but the conditions for its use are extremely stringent.”
He glanced at Hiruzen out of the corner of his eye.
If the Third Hokage knew about such a secret technique, his wariness of the Uchiha would likely increase even further.
“What technique?”
After a moment of hesitation, Fugaku answered, “Izanagi, a forbidden jutsu that can only be used by those with a three-tomoe Sharingan. It’s an absolute taboo that can rewrite any unfavorable reality into a favorable one.”
He paused.
“In other words, it can bring someone back to life.”
The air around them suddenly grew quiet.
Hiruzen’s eyes widened, blood vessels visible in his whites. His chest felt as if it were weighed down by a heavy stone, making it difficult to breathe.
The Uchiha clan possessed such a terrifying forbidden jutsu??
With such a jutsu, wouldn’t they be invincible?
His apprehension towards the Uchiha skyrocketed.
Noticing the change in Hiruzen, Fugaku quickly added.
“Because it caused so much slaughter in the past, this jutsu was classified as forbidden during the Warring States period and its transmission was cut off within the clan. I only recalled it due to Mirai’s question.”
Hiruzen’s expression finally relaxed a little.
Judging by the astonished looks on the other Uchiha members’ faces, what Fugaku said was likely true.
Mirai paid no mind to the conversation between the two. He narrowed his eyes slightly.
Recalling the oddity of Obito’s body disappearing, had he used that jutsu?
He turned his head, scanning the battlefield, extending his biological field sensing range to the maximum.
No anomalies were detected.
The enemy had likely planned for this, considering his post-resurrection actions in advance.
Most likely, the time and place of his resurrection had changed.
“Heh, interesting.”
Mirai’s lips curled into a smile.
His cerulean eyes were filled with intense excitement and tremors as if he had found an exceptionally intriguing prey.
“Now this is getting fun!”
“Run, run until I catch you again, and tear off your mask with my own hands as you tremble in fear!”
…
In the Kamui Dimension.
A world so dark it lacked a single speck of light, filled only with endless stone monoliths like tombstones.
Obito lay on a cold stone, gasping for breath, his body drenched in sweat, looking utterly disheveled.
The Sharingan in his left eye, red with three tomoe, gradually faded, forever losing its light.
His remaining right eye was filled with terror.
“Just a little more! Just a little more and you would have killed me!”
“Mirai, truly a terrifying enemy…”
