Leading Naruto to Destroy the World - Chapter 54
“Uncle! Uncle, save me! There are bad people here! Bad people!”
Naruto, held under the arm of a Root member, struggled desperately, shouting and reaching out to grab the Root member’s face. But at only three years old, his strength was no match for the trained Root ninja. He couldn’t break free from the Root member’s grip despite his efforts.
“Shut him up! Stuff his mouth!”
Danzo’s eye twitched with irritation as he barked the order at the Root member holding Naruto. His mood was increasingly agitated. He had lost too many men to transport the Jinchuriki, causing him great distress.
“Yes!”
However, before the Root member could act, a silver fluid tendril shot out from Naruto, piercing the Root member’s heart. He screamed in agony and fell to the ground.
“Damn it! The frequency is increasing!”
Danzo’s eye reddened with rage. He had brought nearly all his Root operatives, yet they still couldn’t find a way to deal with this bizarre entity. From the Uchiha compound to the Root base, at least ten of his men had died. Bodies littered the path every few steps.
If he hadn’t been so cautious and brought enough subordinates to minimize the chances of failure, they wouldn’t have made it this far.
Seeing the last stretch of the journey, Danzo’s bloodshot eyes finally showed a hint of relief. They were almost there.
“Is everything ready at the base?”
Danzo asked coldly.
“Yes, everything is ready. We’re just waiting for the Jinchuriki to arrive.”
The trembling voice of the sensor-type Root ninja beside Danzo responded. Most of their comrades were already dead. If he hadn’t been a sensor ninja able to communicate with the base, he would have been used as cannon fodder to transport the Jinchuriki.
But at the current rate of death, it wouldn’t be long before his turn came.
“Good!”
Danzo’s eyes finally showed a glimmer of joy. Once the Jinchuriki reached the Root base, they immediately applied a curse seal to control him. As for this strange entity…
Danzo’s gaze hardened as he stared at the blood-stained silver fluid. He would leave it to the sealing team to handle.
“Lord Danzo, something’s wrong! Something terrifying is approaching rapidly!”
The sensor-type ninja’s face paled. The speed at which the entity was closing in was incredible.
Fast! Too fast!
This was the first time he sensed such a terrifying presence, and the thought sent chills down his spine.
Danzo narrowed his eyes and turned, spotting a blue, lightning-wrapped figure tearing through the forest. Trees shattered along the path, and sonic booms and explosions grew louder.
“Namikaze Mirai? If you had arrived a bit earlier, you might have caught us.”
“But it’s too late now.”
Like your brother Minato, you’re always late at critical moments.
A smirk formed on Danzo’s lips. Ahead, the dark entrance to the Root base appeared in his sight.
Several Root operatives, already prepared, rushed to intercept.
“Lord Danzo!”
“Good, hold him off.”
Danzo issued the order briefly, charging towards the base with Naruto. The Root ninjas forming hand seals at the forest edge felt a chill run down their spines. Was that…him?
Danzo’s voice echoed softly behind them.
“This is for the village.”
Swallowing hard, a bead of sweat rolled down from under their masks. The Root members formed an impenetrable line, blocking the base entrance.
Seconds later, the roaring sonic boom grew louder, as if the entire world was filled with that sound—the blue lightning-wrapped figure is Reflected in the eyes of the Root members.
“Get ready! He’s coming!”
Just as Mirai arrived.
“Earth Style! Earth Flow Spears!”
“Wind Style! Wind Cutter!”
“Fire Style! Fire Dragon Flame!”
“Water Style…”
A barrage of powerful jutsu, covering nearly all elements, was launched at the approaching figure. The ground trembled under the onslaught.
Watching the attack, the Root members hoped it was enough.
“Did we get him?”
Over ten skilled Root members attacked simultaneously with offensive solid jutsu. Even the Third Hokage would have struggled to survive such an onslaught. But they knew better than to let their guard down—Mirai Was no ordinary opponent.
With a swift, tearing sound, the raging waves of wind and fire split down the middle, revealing Mirai unscathed, his speed undiminished. His clothes bore no signs of damage.
The Root members’ eyes widened in shock.
“Quick! Stop him!!”
In the next instant, screams and cries of agony echoed.
The Root operatives, trained rigorously and chosen for their skill, stood no chance against Mirai. Blades extended from Mirai’s body, slicing through them like a meat grinder.
Blood and flesh splattered everywhere.
A one-sided massacre.
“The devil…”
The last Root member, trembling, watched the blood-soaked figure in horror. To him, the blood-stained face of Mirai was more terrifying than the Grim Reaper.
With a final slash, his head was severed, flying high into the air. Mirai didn’t even glance at him, charging into the base.
Behind him lay a trail of blood and dismembered limbs.
Mirai wasted no time inside the base, picking a direction and speeding towards it. Naruto’s biological signal was in that direction—so was Danzo’s.
“Damn it! Did he kill everyone guarding the entrance?”
“How is that possible in such a short time?!”
The Root members defending the passage felt their hearts tighten as Mirai’s blood-stained figure approached. He had slaughtered the first line of defense in less than a minute. Now, they were the second line.
They had to hold.
Mirai’s speed didn’t falter. His cold blue eyes met their terrified gazes.
In an instant, screams erupted, blood and flesh flew. The Root base, one of Konoha’s most secure locations, had become a living hell.
