Something terrible has happened!
Sitting at his desk, Hiruzen’s pupils trembled slightly. His back was soaked in cold sweat as a chill ran from his tailbone to the back of his head.
The Root base, located on the outskirts of Konoha, was a massive underground facility. In terms of area, it was even more significant than his ANBU base. Such an important place had collapsed?!
Something extremely terrifying must have occurred!
“Danzo, what kind of trouble have you caused now?”
Veins bulged at the corners of Hiruzen’s eyes, filled with blood. The only person who could cause such a commotion was likely Mirai.

Then someone shouted, “Look! There’s smoke rising over there!”
Following the direction pointed out, the villagers turned to see a thick cloud of dust rising from the southern part of the village. It wasn’t smoke from a fire but dust from a collapsing building covering the forest in that area.

Covered in dust and blood, Danzo coughed violently, kneeling on one knee and covering his mouth. As the dust settled, the sight of the ruins around him came into view, making his pupils contract sharply.

The entire Root base had turned to rubble, with broken stones and scattered corpses of Root members littered throughout.
Danzo’s pupils trembled, and his heart gripped tightly like an iron hand. He struggled to breathe.
The Root, which he had painstakingly built over the years, his life’s work, was utterly destroyed!
At that moment, he felt as if the entire world was spinning. He turned, his lone eye bloodshot, glaring at Naruto, who was safe and sound, protected by the magnetic fluid.
“Because of you! It’s all because of you!”
“I’ve lost everything!”
His heart was filled with endless murderous intent. With the Root gone, nothing could be salvaged, even if he succeeded in imprinting the curse seal on Naruto.
“Die, you demon fox!”
Filled with hatred, Danzo charged at Naruto, his lone eye blood-red.
Naruto’s face turned pale with fear, and he instinctively closed his eyes and screamed, “Uncle!”

With a sickening sound of flesh being pierced, Danzo’s ferocious expression froze. He suddenly felt the world spinning.
He saw his headless body still in mid-charge. Through the settling dust, he saw the cold-eyed figure of Mirai walking towards him.
Momentum carried Danzo’s body a few more steps before it collapsed among the ruins, his head rolling several meters away, his eyes wide open in death.
Naruto opened his eyes, his blue eyes welling up with tears, and saw the golden-haired figure walking towards him.
“Uncle!”
Naruto ran over and leaped into Mirai’s arms. Mirai patted Naruto’s blonde hair, a gentle smile on his face.
“You didn’t get hurt, did you?”
“No,” Naruto shook his head, wiping away the tears at the corners of his eyes. “Uncle, I’m very strong. I wasn’t scared at all.”
“Haha, that’s my nephew.”
Not far away, Danzo’s body suddenly disappeared, like an eraser had wiped it away. This anomaly didn’t escape Mirai’s notice, and his eyes grew cold.
“Izanagi, huh? Heh, if I can kill you once, I can kill you a thousand times!”
Mirai knew about Izanagi from Fugaku, but so what? No matter how many times Danzo revived, he would kill him just the same.
A hundred meters from his previous death spot, Danzo reappeared, panting heavily, his eyes full of shock. With just one strike…
His decades of survival instinct hadn’t saved him, even in his rage as he charged at Naruto. He couldn’t withstand even one move!
He would be dead now if he hadn’t activated Izanagi with his right eye before dying!
Biting his finger, he slammed his hand to the ground. With a puff of white smoke, Baku’s massive body appeared in the ruins.
“Danzo, why did you summon me so suddenly?”
Baku grumbled, but when he noticed the surroundings, his expression froze.
“Danzo, what is this place? Has the Fourth Shinobi War started?”
“This is the Root base. We can talk later. First, deal with the enemy!”
The Root base???
Baku was stunned.
This massive ruin was the Root base? What a joke! The Root base had been destroyed?
Had Hashirama been resurrected?
Seeing Danzo’s agitated expression, Baku dared not be careless and carefully watched the enemy before them.
“Attack!”
Danzo roared. Baku opened his mouth wide, unleashing a terrifying suction force that pulled in debris, walls, and almost everything in front of it.
The ruins around Mirai flew past him, but he stood firm. Naruto, protected by the magnetic fluid, was also unaffected.
“Baku, hold him off. I need to prepare a special jutsu.”
“Got it.”
Hearing Danzo’s voice, Baku didn’t hesitate, increasing his suction power. Mirai moved like a flash of lightning, instantly appearing before Baku.
Baku’s pupils contracted, not expecting Mirai’s speed to be so terrifying.
Boom!
With a punch, Mirai struck down. A splatter of blood followed the sound of bones cracking. The suction force stopped abruptly as Baku’s body was sent flying like a cannonball, rolling hundreds of meters and smashing through several walls before finally stopping.
Baku felt the world spinning. His skull, usually resistant to kunai, was deeply dented, blood spurting out.
“Danzo, are you done?”
Baku weakly asked, glancing towards Danzo, who was frantically running away, showing no sign of fighting.
“Danzo summoned you just to be a meat shield.”
Mirai stood on Baku’s head, looking down coldly. The pressure of his foot increased.
“Danzo! You scoundrel…”
Boom!
Baku disappeared into a puff of smoke.
