Lee Sin's Bizzare Adventure - Chapter 12
The unfortunate seagull would never know why it died today.
It was lazily perched on the eaves, basking in the sun and cooing.
Suddenly, a white unidentified flying object, larger than the entire bird, crashed into its face out of nowhere.
Fortunately, the orb seemed to have no power, and after some frantic fluttering, the seagull barely managed to stabilize itself.
However, the respite was short-lived.
Just as it was preparing to fly away from this place of trouble, a bald man was hot on its tail, flying through the sky at an unbelievable speed.
“Squawk?”
The seagull couldn’t comprehend the strange and complex situation with its limited brain capacity.
It instinctively sensed danger and desperately flew toward the nearby harbor and sea.
Eventually…
As the seagull and the bald man reached the sky over the harbor, they collided.
The result was one death and one injury: the seagull died, and the bald man, crashing down from the sky, was injured.
Unfortunately, he didn’t fall into the harbor waters but onto a small yacht passing beneath him.
“Huff…”
“That was close. I almost died this time.”
Lee Sin struggled to get up from the hard yacht deck, immediately noticing his health, now down to just 3% after the fall from a height:
“Damn… The difficulty is maxed out right from the start.”
“If Diavolo hadn’t been careless, I’d definitely be dead by now.”
“Although I escaped this time, that guy won’t let me off so easily. Enemies will surely come after me continuously.”
“The problem is, I’ve only watched two episodes of JOJO, and I only know…”
“Baldy!!”
An angry voice interrupted Lee Sin’s thoughts.
A middle-aged, pot-bellied white man angrily stormed out of the yacht’s cabin.
Not being a ‘teammate’ or an ‘enemy,’ he couldn’t see the strange health bar floating above Lee Sin’s head.
He also hadn’t seen Lee Sin’s shocking descent from the sky, only hearing a deafening crash.
To this ordinary boat captain, Lee Sin was just a hooligan causing trouble:
“Damn baldy!”
“Look at what you’ve done to my deck!”
He wasn’t even steady on his feet before he started waving his arms and yelling:
“Where the hell did you come from?”
“An Asian face… Are you a foreign tourist?”
“Let me tell you, this is our company’s best yacht. If you want to board, you need to rent it from the dock!”
“By the way… repair costs, and the cost to fix the deck…”
The captain was aggressive, but Lee Sin ignored his ranting.
“Too close, too close.”
He muttered to himself:
“I flew about 300 meters in a straight line.”
“At an adult’s walking pace, even with the twists and turns of the street, Diavolo could catch up in a minute.”
“No… I still need to keep running.”
“Hey, hey!”
The captain interrupted his thoughts again, rudely: “Are you deaf?”
“Listen, if you can’t pay up, I’ll call the police on you.”
“Oh…”
Lee Sin responded softly.
When he turned to look at the captain, his face was already filled with a friendly smile:
“Captain, I want to rent the boat, right now.”
“Captain?”
Hearing the respectful term, the captain’s expression softened considerably:
“You’re here to rent the boat?”
“Okay, but you need to go ashore to pay and do the paperwork first. Then you can choose a boat from the dock…”
“No.”
Lee Sin said in an indisputable tone: “I need to leave now, on this boat.”
“This boat?”
The captain’s displeasure was evident:
“Don’t joke. This boat isn’t available.”
“The fuel tank has a problem. I was about to take it to the dock for repairs.”
“Does it move?”
Lee Sin ignored him and asked: “As long as it moves, it’s fine.”
“Even if it breaks down in the middle of the sea, just take it out now!”
“Kid, are you causing trouble?”
The captain frowned:
“It’s not just a minor issue. Even if the boat is fine, you can’t just take it.”
“I said, to rent a boat, you need to pay and do the paperwork…”
“I do have money.”
Lee Sin patted his bulging pockets, indicating he was well-off:
“Can we skip the paperwork?”
“No way.”
“The boats belong to the company, and the rules say you have to do the paperwork first.”
The captain instinctively refused but quickly showed a greedy expression:
“Unless you give me a large… heh heh.”
He clearly intended to make a quick buck.
However, Lee Sin used a very reasonable offer to quickly conclude the negotiation:
“Captain, your offer is good… but…”
“Sorry, I really don’t have time to bargain.”
“You want money, right?”
Lee Sin pulled out a gun from his pocket and asked kindly: “Is this enough?”
—
At the dock.
Diavolo followed the direction Lee Sin had flown and arrived at the harbor.
When he got to the dock, he saw Lee Sin negotiating with the captain on the yacht.
Then the boat started.
The yacht, at full throttle, sped towards the vast sea, carrying the enemy who had just escaped Diavolo’s grasp.
“Damn it!”
“He got away…”
“An unknown, unidentified individual who knows about my Stand ability just escaped!”
Diavolo felt frustrated and furious.
He knew that the mystery he had maintained for years was now partially exposed.
A thousand-mile dyke is breached by an ant’s nest.
If Lee Sin survived, information about his Stand ability might spread.
Stand user battles heavily involve intelligence warfare.
Although Diavolo’s Stand ability is nearly invincible, it isn’t entirely unbreakable.
If the information leaked, numerous strong enemies would challenge his throne, devising strategies against his ability.
“I must kill him, sew his mouth shut, and throw him into the sea to feed the fish!”
Diavolo thought bitterly.
Then he began to concentrate on planning the chase:
“That bald guy is now on the sea.”
“Luckily, I saw that yacht in time. Otherwise, it would be hard to find him.”
“Wait… the sea?”
Diavolo had a brilliant idea:
To consolidate his authority as Boss, he had established a personal guard within the organization.
Each member of this guard was either exceptionally powerful, had unique abilities, or was particularly loyal to him. They were scattered throughout Italy, helping Diavolo manage the organization’s affairs.
To prevent unforeseen events, Diavolo always brought one or two personal guards on his outings.
This time, the personal guard he brought along happened to be an expert in maritime warfare.
No…
Not just an “expert,” to exaggerate a bit…
“He’s ‘invincible’ at sea.”
“That Stand ability is incredibly suited for sea combat.”
Diavolo thought.
Then, he immediately called the “maritime expert”:
“Squalo.”
“You have a mission.”
